Position Summary:  
The Director, Digital Marketing will lead the digital strategy for the Miami Marlins and is part of the Marketing Department, reporting to the Senior Vice President, Marketing & Community Relations. The Director, Digital Marketing will be responsible for developing and overseeing execution of digital marketing and social media campaigns, branded content, influencers, and the creation of buzzworthy, multi-platform content for a digital-first audience for the Miami Marlins.
Essential Functions: 
  • Liaison with Major League Baseball on digital efforts
  • Maintain strong, collaborative relationships with Major League Baseball 
  • Lead team in the development and execution of best-in-class digital marketing campaigns that build awareness, drive sales and increase engagement for the Miami Marlins
  • Develop digital strategy
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and implement digital strategy
  • Build digital marketing strategy, creative briefs and campaign materials that leverage brand positioning, audience profile and digital insights and trends
  • Campaign Development and Execution
  • Spearhead the conception, development and execution of transactional digital marketing programs
  • Oversee team in all facets of campaign planning, budget allocation, creative approval and timeline development
  • Outline success measures for each campaign/program based upon organizational goals
  • Work closely with other departments to secure necessary approvals, keep relevant stakeholders abreast of updates and milestones
  • Lead team in the creation of innovative, forward-leaning multi-platform content that generates buzz and increases engagement the Miami Marlins
  • Develop concepts that are aligned with marketing strategy and positioning and uniquely designed for a given platform, screen and/or device, leaning in to digital trends, social conversation and emerging content and ad product formats, as relevant
  • Liaise with Creative Services to understand the full landscape of brand parameters to all multi-platform content works in synergy with the overall brand narrative and positioning
  • Build and maintain relationships with the creative community, including agencies, independent producers, writers, directors, and influencers to keep abreast of new partners and collaborators
  • Motivate, mentor and develop great talent and lead the professional development of direct reports
  • Ensure team is consistently optimizing campaign performance and managing budgets efficiently
  • Lead team in research of new digital trends, platforms, influencers and experiences that can inform digital marketing strategy and be used to reach new fans
Qualifications & Requirements:            
  • Proven experience in sports / entertainment that shows a creative vision in developing interactive content and campaigns for a media and/or entertainment brand
  • Strong understanding of marketing trends in digital, social and mobile platforms
  • Deep understanding of how users interact with digital content and how to create great user experiences from a content perspective
  • Ability to manage and guide direct reports
  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to multi-task changing priorities
  • Ability to handle dynamic industry with constant developments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail

 Suggested Education & Experience Guidelines:
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 7+ years digital marketing and multi-platform content experience
