Human Resources: Human Resources Management
Position Summary:
The Chief People Officer is focused on:
  • Engagement & Communication: investing in current employees, ensuring team members feel heard, valued and appreciated; developing a feedback loop with management; bringing cohesion across all departments and locations; opening company, team and individual communication channels
  • Creating (Infra)Structure: formalizing positions; developing a clear company structure; creating accountability through targets and clear measurement; creating and building scalable processes and documenting them; improving and automating process efficiency
  • Developing the middle layer of management: elevating employees who have proven themselves as key players and empowering them to support future growth
  • Supporting Our Growth Strategy: enabling company growth through establishing a roadmap for greater retention and strategic hires
  • The Chief People Officer, working closely with our Chief Operating Officer, is also responsible for the development and administration of all policies and procedures covering all human resources areas including; recruiting/hiring, benefits, expenses, employment wages and salary administration, personnel records, training, and labor relations. 
  • The Chief People Officer originates and leads Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of an outstanding workforce.

Essential Functions:
  • Ability to automate and optimize all core HR processes including benefits management, onboarding, performance management, etc.
  • Develop, interpret and implement policies and procedures according to federal and state laws and regulations, and industry best-practices
  • Provide outstanding client service to our Business and Baseball departments; put client needs first and ensure coverage of all client requirements
  • Develop a framework for measuring and reporting key metrics related to our staff and organization
  • Develop an innovative and insightful employee orientation curriculum that instills our culture and values into new staff
  • Develop robust staff engagement initiatives
  • Guide Recruiting efforts; Proactively identify candidates in market to develop a pipeline of potential future hires, and assist in screening all candidates
  • Develop an Employee Wellness curriculum that promotes work life balance and the overall satisfaction of staff
  • Develop and administer an industry-leading internship program
  • Develop and administer impactful employee recognition programs; Develop creative and inspiring staff rewards/perks as part of a structured staff recognition program
  • Build and manage our strategic talent pipeline, including succession planning and resiliency planning for critical areas
  • Foster a diverse workplace that enables all employees to contribute to the organization at their full potential 
  • Offer a fair and safe working environment with equal opportunities to all employees
  • Manage all staff trainings, functions and events; identify training opportunities that develop and inspire our staff
  • Communicate and work closely with external stakeholders
  • Office space management
  • Safeguard against litigation and other potential losses by overseeing participation in EEO, ADA and Medical Leave Act and other federal and state regulations

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Knowledge of best-of-breed HR practices and toolsets

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with experience in organizational transformation
  • Excellent communications and listening skills
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local employment, wage and salary laws and regulations

Suggested Education & Experience Guidelines:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level Human Resources position
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
