Job Summary:
The Kansas City Royals are seeking an experienced sales executive with a proven track record of success in generating new revenue from regional and national brands. The goal of this individual will be creating integrated marketing partnerships that leverage the equity and assets associated with the organization to achieve the goals of regional, national and international companies. Ideal candidate will have strong existing relationships with companies and sports marketing agencies. In addition to in-stadium, digital, IP/in-market promotional rights and radio network opportunities, there will be an emphasis on partnerships that align with Royals Charities events and Community Impact department programs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ability to meet/exceed annual partnership revenue goals through the sale of new corporate partnerships
  • Aggressively prospect and secure new corporate partnerships utilizing Royals’ assets with an emphasis on high-profile in-stadium, IP and digital assets (online, social, original content, etc.) and community programs
  • Research and understand each prospect’s business, industry, goals and KPIs to develop custom proposals to meet the individual needs of each potential partner
  • Develop compelling integrated marketing campaigns to maximize the partnership value for the brand and team Responsible for developing personal and professional relationships with all levels of within a company (i.e., day-to-day contact, Senior Management, C-Level executives, owners, etc.)
  • Team player with desire to be a sales leader and generate significant new business revenue on an annual basis 
  • Collaborate with other internal departments to customize ideas and partnership proposals
  • High level of communication with Partnership Solutions team to ensure objectives and goals of partnership are attainable and executable
  • Research best-practices, innovation and stay on top of cutting-edge trends in sports partnerships
  • Perform research related to partner development and relevant industry categories
  • Knowledge of all assets and understanding of how to leverage premium assets for larger partnerships
  • Utilize background and experience to assist with the growth and development of Corporate Partnerships team members 
  • Participate in all department events and partner/prospect entertainment activities
  • Complete all assigned tasks and responsibilities in a timely fashion as well as perform additional duties as needed
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university 
  • Must have high-performing experience in multi-media sports, media and/or entertainment partnership sales 
  • Proven track record in relationship building and networking skills with the ability to interact and communicate effectively and professionally with high-level contacts
  • National and regional client and agency relationships
  • Always represent yourself and the Kansas City Royals in a professional manner
  • Available to attend business related games/events and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends & holidays
  • Exceptional organizational skills with an ability to effectively multi-task
  • Excellent communication, organizational and presentation skills
  • Detail oriented with excellent time management 
  • Proven analytical ability, creative problem-solving and conflict management skills
  • Entrepreneurial mindset while also team oriented
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Dynamics)
  • Available to travel as needed (approximately 5-10%)
