Summary: This position reports directly to the Vice President of Marketing. The Merchandise Manager will be in charge of the retail strategy and operation for the Pawtucket Red Sox and the Worcester Red Sox brands. This person will have the unique opportunity to assist with the design of retail space in the new Polar Park, soon-to-be home of the Worcester Red Sox. This person should be an organized, energetic, and creative professional who is a team player. This person is responsible for the creation and execution of the clubs’ retail strategies and plans as they align with the clubs’ greater marketing strategy, with the goal of revenue generation, first class customer service, fan engagement and brand exposure. This person should feel a compulsion to operate a successful merchandise and wardrobe business. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Drive merchandise sales with innovation and products that align with team branding guidelines and promotions
  • Work with MiLB licensees to develop innovative and quality products
  • Responsible for ordering, tagging, receiving, storing, displaying, and selling products
  • Maintain all MiLB Licensing regulations
  • Develop retail displays that are visually appealing and maximize sales
  • Responsible for maintaining inventory levels, pricing, and margins
  • Collaborate with Clubhouse Manager to put together ordering plan for team headwear and apparel
  • Develop inventory storage plan to assure easy access and accountability of merchandise
  • Develop merchandising plan for all retail outlets in stadium and online 
  • Perform daily game performance reports and other weekly/monthly revenue reports as needed
  • Responsible for coordinating and conducting physical inventories as needed
  • Monitor operational performance to ensure goals are being met and changes are made as needed
  • Hire, train, and schedule merchandise staff for games and events
  • Present the highest level of customer service from merchandise personnel, always ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Ensure all cash handling procedures 
  • Other related duties as required
 
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 1-3 years of retail experience (stadium or MiLB preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • Familiarity with inventory control procedures and policies
  • Superb customer service
  • Ability to analyze sales trends and translate into a retail plan
  • Technically proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel)
  • Technically proficient with Adobe Photoshop
  • Ability to take on multiple projects and hit tight deadlines
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Extremely attentive to detail and organized
  • Strong team work ethic
  • Highest level of integrity and trustworthiness 
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekend, and holidays
