**This internship is in West Palm Beach, Florida**

Contribute to the Houston Astros and Washington Nationals Spring Training Operations for the Spring Training season as one of our highly valued interns. We’re looking for dynamic individuals who can contribute to our operation in West Palm Beach, Florida. The internship runs from the beginning November through the beginning of April. The position will work closely with front office executives, gameday staff, facilities staff and fans.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Answer all incoming phone calls to the ticket extension and return voicemails
  • Responsible for assisting in all areas of ticketing operations, box office operations, sales and season ticket holder services for Spring Training
  • Answer all incoming phone calls to the ticket extension and return voicemails
  • Process all completed new and renewal season ticket orders in tickets.com
  • Assist with any ticket requests, relocation requests, or customer service issues
  • Assist in the execution of printing and mailing ticket orders
  • Manage Will Call and VIP Will Call window operations on game days
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all customers and team associates
  • Assist in the processing of group ticket orders
  • Assist with managing Box Office and Ticket Taker representatives on game days
  • Manage off-site promotional events in the community
  • Assist with community outreach initiatives
  • Assist with outbound sales initiatives
  • Assist with customer service online inquiries
     Other duties as assigned

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Must have previous knowledge of ticket services and processing systems; tickets.com preferred
  • Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student of an accredited college or university and have completed a minimum of 1 semester or have recently graduated from an accredited college or university
  • Must be willing to work at minimum 30-40 hours/week and longer hours during the Spring Training season

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities necessary to perform essential functions:
  • Highly motivated and excellent attention to detail
  • Strong, confident communication skills including the ability to write clearly and effectively
  • Ability to use time efficiently
  • Candidates should have strong customer service skills and be available to work long hours during the season
  • Must demonstrate ability to be resourceful and dependable
  • Must demonstrate discretion when dealing with VIPs
  • Competency in Microsoft Office and Outlook

Physical/Environmental Requirements:
  • Office: Working conditions are normal for an office environment.  Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work
  • Gameday:  Job requires employee to function in a high activity and heavily crowded outdoor professional sports venue.  Employee will be exposed to inclement weather of varying degrees.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time, walk long distances, and climb up/down stairs, and continuously serve customers. The employee is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit and must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

  • Rare travel maybe expected in this role.
