Ticket Sales and Services: Client Relations/Customer Service

The Houston Astros are hosting a part-time job fair! Below are descriptions of various positions for which we are hiring. Ticket Experience Ambassador 
Department: Ticket Sales and Service
Classification: Part-Time/Non-Exempt

As a Ticket Experience Ambassador, you will work out of the Ticket Sales and Service department to assist patrons in the comprehensive ticketing experience. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: assisting with mobile ticketing support on smartphone and tablet devices on Astro’s game days, assisting fans with game purchasing of Astros tickets, providing solutions to incoming calls from fans regarding purchasing tickets, mobile technology and or other organizational related questions. Qualified individuals must be highly motivated with a passion to provide an excellent level of customer service to every fan being serviced. Individuals should be detail-oriented and genuinely enjoy interacting with and helping visitors of Minute Maid Park. Friendly and outgoing personality, possessing both a technologically savvy, problem-solving mindset.

  • Must possess the manual dexterity and visual acuity to fully utilize and execute the full functionality of “smart phones” and other mobile devices.
  • Able to lift, carry, move, arrange, and use equipment up to 30 lbs. in weight.
  • Possess the visual acuity to see, read and comprehend text, type, data and content on standard computer monitors, smart phones, screens, and documents.
  • Experience using online ticketing Apps and/or other software platforms.  
  • Experience with and knowledgeable of the features, functions and effective usage of iPhones, Androids and related mobile or digital devices in professional environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Software (Excel, Outlook, Word), and/or “browsers” such as Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Safari, etc. preferred.
Guest Services Representative
Guest Services
Classification: Part-Time (Non-Exempt/Seasonal)

As a member of the Guest Services Team, you will be an essential part of the game experience and help build Astros memories that last a lifetime. In this role, you will wear many different hats and have the potential to work in several different areas of the ballpark. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: ushering, ticket scanning, concourse customer service, and attending to stairs, ramps, escalators, and elevators. As a frontline representative of the Astros, you will have the opportunity to assist our guests by offering directions and sharing information. Your job will be to keep our fans safe while still maintaining a fun and friendly atmosphere! The Houston Astros strive to deliver memorable guest experiences combined with the best entertainment value available.

  • Experience in a hospitality or entertainment environment is preferred.
  • You must love working with and helping people.
  • Ability to handle large crowds in a fast space environment.
  • You must have a passion for baseball and the Houston Astros.
  • You must be able to maintain a POSITIVE attitude while handling difficult situations.
  • Knowledge and experience with ticketing apps is a plus.
  • You must be a local Houston resident.
  • Flexible schedule: Availability to work most home games. Working weekends is a MUST. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday games tend to be our busiest!
  • Ability to regularly stand, walk, talk, hear, use hands to handle or feel, and climb stairs.
  • Position requires ability to stand up 4 to 5 hours without a break.
Retail Store Associate
Department: Retail
Classification: Part-Time (Non-Exempt/Seasonal)

Under the direction of Retail Operations Manager and Retail Store Manager, sells retail merchandise to guests in accordance with Company’s customer service standards and applicable operational standards. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: processing sales with appropriate point of sale system, accepting payment, counting change and bagging merchandise, answering guests’ questions and recommending, selecting and helping locate or obtain merchandise for guests. This is a part-time, seasonal position (Game Day only) that requires days, nights and weekends. Must be 16 years of age or older.

  • Previous experience in cash handling preferred.
  • Previous experience with operating point-of-sale systems preferred.
  • Previous experience in retail or customer service environment preferred.
  • Excellent guest service skills; ability to adhere to Company’s customer service standards.
  • Good communication skills; ability to communicate with guests and co-workers
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Basic math skills; ability to accurately handle money and count change.
  • Willingness to aggressively sell assigned items.
  • Capable of following job guidelines and supervisors' instructions.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for entire length of shift.
  • Ability to walk up and down stairs frequently.
  • Bending, reaching, and climbing on step stool.
  • Visual acuity sufficient to see and distinguish merchandise and operate point-of-sale system. 

Retail Warehouse Associate
Department: Retail
Classification: Part-Time (Non-Exempt/Seasonal)

Assists the Retail Warehouse Manager and other Retail Managers in maintaining inventory and delivering product orders to various outlets, in accordance with Company’s customer service standards and applicable operational standards. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: delivering product throughout the facility in an efficient and timely manner, stocking products in the warehouse and ensuring that inventory levels of supplies are maintained. This is a part-time, seasonal position that requires days, nights and weekends. Must be 16 years of age or older.

  • Must be pleasant, courteous with ability to adhere to the Company’s Service Standards
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others
  • Ability to read and interpret delivery forms and transfer orders
  • Basic math skills for counting inventory
  • Ability to follow job procedures and supervisor instructions
  • Ability to lift/move/maneuver up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to pull heavy carts of product throughout facility
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, lifting, and reaching, during entire length of shift
