The Fayetteville Baseball Club is seeking a Manager of Retail. This position will be responsible for overseeing all retail operations in accordance with Company’s customer service standards and applicable operational standards. This position will be located in Fayetteville, NC. 

Essential Functions:

  1. Manages daily Team Store operations by ensuring store is opened on time, fully stocked with merchandise.
  2. Supervises retail associates; completes store operational needs by assigning employees and following up on work results.
  3. Creates and executes operational plan for fulfillment of online merchandise orders.
  4. Maintain and organize online team store website.
  5. Trains to, and maintains retail standards, policies and procedures.
  6. Assists in scheduling all hourly retail associates to ensure proper coverage for all game day and non-game day store hours and responsibilities.
  7. Monitors retail cashiers with the daily transactions and operations.
  8. Works with the finance team to ensure daily reports are accurate and investigates any variances.
  9. Monitors store floor, assist with guests needs and requests both on the floor and at the cashier area.
  10. Regularly evaluates, creates, and maintains professional visual displays; provides direction to retail associates regarding store merchandising and displays.
  11. Works with the other department within the organization to generate inter-departmental transfers of product to ensure proper movement of funds within the organization.
  12. Ensures integrity of physical inventory levels.
  13. Maintains cleanliness and safety standards throughout the retail shops.
  14. Performs duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position will oversee the daily operations of retail associates.

Work Environment

Position will work in an office and stadium environment.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.  The noise level is usually moderate but can be loud within the stadium environment. 

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee will frequently be required to carry and move packages up to 25 lbs.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Due to the nature of this position, the position requires hours of work and days that include frequent nights, weekends and holiday. This includes attendance at all home baseball games and special events.

No travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience

  1. Previous cash handling experience required.
  2. One to three years’ experience as a manager in a retail environment preferred.
  3. Previous experience working with point of sale (POS) system; RetailPro preferred.
  4. Bachelor’s Degree with Business Management or Sports Management preferred.
  5. Ability to manage entry level retail associates.
  6. Problem solve different situations with internal and external customers.
  7. Excellent guest service skills; ability to adhere to company’s customer service standards.
  8. Ability to interact on a professional level with high profile clients.
  9. Strong verbal and written communication skills – ability to communicate with staff and prepare written reports.
  10. Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to direct the work activities of several associates simultaneously and plan ahead.
  11. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in fast-paced environment.
  12. Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  13. Advanced math skills; ability to accurately handle money and count change.
