Event Management: Event Operations/Management
This positions oversees the maintenance and cleanliness of Joliet Route 66 Stadium.   This role will work closely with all members of the Slammers front office in planning and executing events, including but not limited to Slammers games.  Reports to General Manager

  • Supervision of game day staff
  • Maintenance of general appearance and cleanliness of ballpark, both inside and outside
  • Liaison to distributors of goods and services around the ballpark
  • Customer service training
  • Liaison to City of Joliet
  • Landscaping
  • Long term maintenance planning
  • Creating and following budget
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Two years of experience in facility operations
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills-ability to communicate with staff and prepare written reports
  • Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to direct the work activities of several associates simultaneously and plan ahead
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in fast paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Cash handling experience preferred
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment
  • Ability to learn all video board and sound related equipment and basic functions
  • Willingness to work long hours and weekends seasonally as the business requires
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • May be asked to routinely lift items of weight up to 50lbs
  • Must be able to work well in a fast-paced environment in large, crowded areas of outdoor park
  • Ability to operate turf grooming equipment
