JOB TITLE: Media Relations Assistant/Spanish-Language Translator                        


DEPARTMENT: Media Relations


REPORTS TO: Director of Media Relations       


POSITION OVERVIEW: Will assist the Red Sox Media Relations department as a Spanish-language translator for media interviews for all uniformed Red Sox players, staff, and personnel.  Additionally will coordinate outbound content from Red Sox Spanish social media accounts.





  • Attend Red Sox Spring Training in Fort Myers, FL for all workouts and games.

  • Attend all Red Sox home and road games during the regular season, all Postseason games, and any other events to be covered by local or national media at which Red Sox uniformed personnel are present.


Social Media

  • Coordinate all outbound content from Red Sox Spanish social media accounts including but not limited to:

    • Spanish language real-time game score updates, pregame and postgame recaps, news and sales posts, and fan engagement efforts.

    • Work with MLBAM’s Spanish social media team, Red Sox social, and Creative Services to develop a specific Spanish account strategy that will drive an increase in followers and provide unique content.

    • Update with respect to major organizational initiatives.




  • Spanish fluency is required

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish

  • Working knowledge of baseball and related statistics

  • Experience developing social media content and strategies

  • Ability to work long hours including nights, holidays and weekends and travel both domestically and internationally
