2020 Summer Associate Program

 
The Hartford Yard Goats, the Class AA affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, are seeking hard working, goal-oriented individuals for the 2020 Eastern League season. Our success is measured by the consistent delivery of a fun and entertaining experience for our fans, the community, and our players. We depend upon the efforts of many associates to make our organization successful. The Hartford Yard Goats Professional Development Summer Associate Program will provide a great opportunity for individuals looking to immerse themselves in a full-service, industry-leading sports and entertainment venue. The Yard Goats are looking for dedicated, dynamic individuals who are enthusiastic and possess a wide-range of skills, and who are equipped to handle a variety of day-to-day operational tasks while working to create a positive, fun-filled environment for our fans, staff and partners. Bilingual in Spanish is a strong plus.  

 This opportunity is an optimal way to get your foot in the door, learn about Minor League Baseball (MiLB), and deepen experience in the fields of sport management, hospitality, and entertainment.  You will gain hands-on experience within and across a diverse set of roles and functions, including marketing and promotions, corporate and group sales, box office and ticket operations, customer and guest service, community partnerships, and merchandising, to name a few.  Associate Program participants will collaborate with the entire Front Office team as they rotate through different positions and different departments. Additionally, Associate Program participants will also have direct exposure to members of the executive and senior management teams and the ownership group.    
 
The Hartford Yard Goats Professional Development Program is a paid position.  You will work a maximum of 30 hours per week based upon our 2020 home game schedule. Participation through the end of our season (end of August) or until you return to school is ideal.   The Associate position will begin in May. Associate Program participants will rotate across departments in order to get direct experience in what they do and how they work to reach their goals for the season. Application deadline for the May cohort is February 23, 2020.  
 
You will interact with fans, sponsors, community partners and in some or all of the following areas: 

  • Corporate & Group Tickets – you will assist with game day ticket sales and coordinating tickets for sponsor nights and group sales.
  •  Stadium Operations – you will assist with facility maintenance and various other facility-based tasks and critical functions. 
  • Promotions & Marketing – you will assist with in-game promotions, fan engagement and appreciation activities, planning and executing a promotional theme night, player and mascot appearances, and assorted other Game Day promotional activities.
  •  Game Day Team – you will execute the Game Day activities for home games working across the full spectrum of Game Day roles. 
  •  Sponsorship Activation – you will assist with taking in-game photos and/or video of the team, our fans, and sponsorship activations, including promotional theme night activities with alignment to sponsorship partners.
  •  Website & Social Media Management – you will assist with the development of team and player information on a daily basis in order to help maintain an up-to-date digital footprint. This may involve player stats, photographs, video, blog entries or just general information.
  • Merchandise – you will assist in creating, ordering, stocking, mailing, and in-person sales of Yard Goats team merchandise, one of the top performing brands in all of Minor League Baseball.
  • Community Partnerships – you will assist with initiatives that benefit our community inside and outside of baseball games.
