Position:  The Somerset Patriots, the new AA affiliate of the NY Yankees, are hiring seasonal groundskeepers to help with maintaining the field and grounds at TD Bank Ballpark.  Prior grounds experience is preferred, but we are willing to train if you have a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and are willing to learn.  Candidates must live or have access to housing within reasonable commuting distance of the ballpark.  Turf students or recent graduates are encouraged to apply provided you are available to work full time April-October.  Applications can be submitted through the link provided or by emailing resume and cover letter to the head groundskeeper through the team's website.

Schedule:  Employment runs from 3/29-10/29 and applicants must be available for all games / events scheduled including nights, weekends, and some holidays.  Non-game day hours are typically 9am-5pm.  Game days vary between two rotating shifts, typically 9am-4pm and 4pm-11pm but subject to change depending on game time.  Off days are scheduled during the season when the team is away.

Job Description:  Assist with all aspects of field / grounds maintenance including infield dirt and clay work, edging, field painting, mowing, tarp pulls, landscaping, seeding, sod repair, set up for practice / games / special events, post game clean up and other duties as assigned.  Must be willing to work in a variety of weather conditions.

Compensation:  $12/hr and averages 40 hrs per week.  Limited overtime available during homestands.
