Job Description:
The Binghamton Rumble Ponies are seeking a passionate individual to assist the Director of Community Relations for the 2018 season. This individual will ideally make an immediate impact within the organization and community. This will be a full time seasonal intern position beginning in February 2018 and concluding in September 2018. The individual should be hard-working, responsible, friendly and have an enthusiastic attitude for representing the Rumble Ponies in the community.
  • Assist the Director of Community Relations with events and community outreach programs
  • Serve as a brand ambassador for the Rumble Ponies in a professional manner at on and off-site events
  • Researching potential events and appearances
  • Assist in the approval and fulfillment of donation requests; maintain accurate records in database
  • Help in the coordination and execution of events inside and outside of the stadium
  • Oversee organization-wide volunteer opportunities and programs
  • Regularly follow up with charities and organizations that have partnered with the Rumble Ponies to continue on-going relationships
  • Work on and create new ideas, initiatives and programs to implement for the Rumble Ponies
  • Screen incoming calls and respond as necessary
  • Assist other departments as needed
  • Bachelor’s degree in Sport Management, Communications, Public Relations and/or related area of concentration.
  • Experience working in sports is preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays
  • Good attitude, motivated, and friendly
*Must be willing and able to commit full time from late February 2018 – September 2018
