POSITION: General Manager

DESCRIPTION: The Wilmington Sharks (www.wilmingtonsharks.com), a charter member of the Coastal Plain League (www.coastalplain.com), is seeking a sponsorship sales focused individual to serve as the General Manager of the organization.

The General Manager must work well within a highly collaborative environment, strategically managing multiple disciplines, anticipating and addressing issues, and supporting the overall culture and objectives of the team.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

Serve as the primary sponsorship sales representative for the Sharks.
Supervises, manages and is responsible for the day-to-day operating budget of the Team.
Interviews, hires and provides supervision of all seasonal and game day employees.
Supervises personnel in the creating and maintaining of proper stadium atmosphere to maximize entertainment value for patrons.
Creates, fosters and maintains a ‘sales culture’ within the organization which includes other full time employees, part-time and season personnel as well as student interns.

REQUIREMENTS:

Management experience with a baseball franchise.
Demonstrated ability to sell sponsorships for a sports organization
Ability to identify and evaluate strategic opportunities and build business relationships
Ability to develop business/brand plans and strategic/ticketing plans
Proven leadership and talent management skills, experience successfully leading, and developing a strong and growing department or division
Strong interpersonal and collaborative skillset – listens to others, thrives in a team environment
Excellent communication skills including written and verbal; ability to present ideas clearly and concisely
Highly organized and detail oriented operational manager
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; adapts to change in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to handle frequent changes
Proficient in Microsoft Office software programs and Photoshop or equivalent
Ability to work extended hours including nights, weekends, holidays

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

Full time year round salary position
Bonuses paid based on accomplishment of organizational objectives
