The Tri-City Chili Peppers are looking for qualified Off-Season Social Media & Marketing Interns for the Spring 2023 semester. This role will focus on designing and creating content for our electronic game day magazine and an additional fun summer marketing newsletter to be shared in local businesses.

The Tri-City Chili Peppers are the HOTTEST team in the Coastal Plain League, a summer wood-bat baseball league with teams in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. Our team will plays a 48-game regular season schedule from late May through early August with 30 home games at Shepherd Stadium in Colonial Heights, VA.
We are looking for equipped Off-Season Social Media & Marketing Interns who are passionate and ready to learn. You will be an integral part of the Off-Season marketing creation team. You will work on different media production, and assist our marketing department where needed. We are looking for both both a local team that would be asked to help with off season content creation, as well as, remote designers that can fulfill their responsibilities.
Qualified individuals should be a competent, professional, develop quality written communications with the media, and coordinate special promotional and community involvement projects.
Responsibilities:
- Shoot videos and/or photos of internal marketing campaigns, external sponsorship promotions, or on-field events during the off-season. (Ranging from professional quality content to TikTok social media promotion)
- Execution of pre-production schedule including video and audio as well as graphic design.
- Aiding in the post-production process of exporting photos and videos to the team's website, social media pages, etc.
- Work in collaboration with the marketing department to develop and create social media campaigns.
- Perform in-the-field marketing tactics and be comfortable communicating with potential sponsors and patrons.
- Attend off site events for marketing and brand recognition (If local)
Requirements:
- Basic understanding of production and media is preferred.
- Preferred basic knowledge and experience of:
- Camera Operations
- Graphic Design
- Photography
- Videography
- Editing (Photo and Video)
- Adobe Platforms such as InDesign, Photoshop, and/or Premiere Pro
- Social Media Management (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok)
- Newsletters & Press Reports
- And E-blasts (MailChimp).
- If all skills do not apply, applicants should be willing to learn and develop them.
- Possess strong written and oral communication skills.
- Self-motivated individual with the ability to multi-task.
- Must be self-driven and highly motivated.
This is an unpaid/college credit internship position. The goal for those who accept this position is to give them real-world learning experiences and allow them an educational environment where they will learn and hone skills within a workforce.
