The Tri-City Chili Peppers are looking for qualified, Broadcasting & Streaming Interns for their 2024 Summer Baseball Season.
The Chili Peppers are the HOTTEST team in the Coastal Plain League, a summer wood-bat baseball league with teams in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. Our team plays from late May through early August with up to 30 home games (with the potential for more) at Shepherd Stadium in Colonial Heights, VA. We employ a small full-time staff so part-time seasonal employees and interns will perform integral duties.
The broadcasting and streaming team plays an integral part in not only covering the Chili Peppers home and away games, but also telling the story of the Chili Peppers players and organization. Home games are broadcast on FloSports and away games are broadcast via radio through Mixlr.
We have multiple positions available in this area:
- Director - This position is the leader of this department. They will ensure all equipment is ready and set up for each game and create the script for each game.
- Broadcasters - This position will help with color commentary and play-by-play.
- Camera Operators - These positions will capture the exciting Chili Peppers action on the field and assist with pre and post game interviews.
- Interviewer - This position will conduct interviews pre/during/ and post game with coaches, players, and fans in order to add new layers and nuances to the Chili Peppers story.
Candidates interested in the broadcaster, interviewer and director roles should include a link to highlight reels that show their relevant experiences.
General Responsibilities:
- Assist with set up and take down of broadcasting and streaming equipment.
- Assist with coordination of pre and post game filming
- Travel to away games (does not include camera operators nor director)
- Train other interns to work cameras to be able to assist with broadcasts as need be
- Research coaches and players in order to be ready to tell their stories
- Assist with stadium preparation and clean up for each game.
Requirements:
● Basic understanding of production and media is preferred.
- Experience with broadcasting is helpful.
● Possess strong written and oral communication skills.
● Self-motivated individual with the ability to multi-task.
● Must be self-driven and highly motivated.
This is an unpaid/college credit internship position. The goal for those who accept this position is to give them real-world learning experiences and allow them an educational environment where they will learn and hone their skills within a workforce.
