Food and Beverage: Food/Beverage Management
We seek to re-energize our entire food service operation by bringing an exciting, high quality product mix and positively outrageous customer service to the market.

The Director of Food & Beverage Services is responsible for the overall food service operation at Frawley Stadium, which includes our concessions stands, our portable carts and our catered event spaces, which offer warm hospitality and unparalleled service for a minor league ballpark. He or she will manage the daily operations of our bar, small plates and Diamond Club restaurant including employee performance management, inventory controls, optimizing profits and providing exceptional guest experiences.

Broad responsibilities of the Director of Food & Beverage Services include managing capital investments in food service equipment and developing exciting new menus for concessions stands that incorporate ballpark classics with local favorites.

Daily responsibilities include:
  • Pro-actively dealing with guest queries, ensuring satisfaction with food and service, and responding to complaints in an expeditious manner
  • Monitoring food and labor cost on a daily basis
  • Maintaining an accurate and up-to-date plan of staffing needs, preparing all schedules and ensuring that the concessions stands and portables are staffed for all shifts
  • Ensuring the cleanliness of anywhere food is prepared or served
  • Ensuring consistent high quality of food preparation and service
  • Establishing and meeting department budgets
  • Maintaining proper inventory levels along with daily, weekly and monthly inventory tracking 
  • Ordering and receiving food and beverage products and working directly with the purchasing manager for supply requisition and delivery schedules
  • Building and maintaining vendor relationships
  • Adhering to team standards and service levels to increase sales and minimize costs, including food, beverage, supply, utility and labor costs
  • Maintaining a professional image, including cleanliness, uniforms and appearance standards
  • Ensuring that all financial (invoices, reporting) and HR/Payroll related administrative duties are completed accurately, on time and in accordance with team policies and procedures
  • Supervising cleaning tasks using standard products to adhere to health standards.
  • Maintaining a favorable working relationship with all team employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate which will be conducive to maximum employee morale, productivity and efficiency/effectiveness
  • Ensuring a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents 
  • Keeping the Team owner and General Manager promptly and fully informed of all issues (i.e. problems, unusual matters of significance and positive events) and taking prompt corrective action where necessary or suggests alternative courses of action
  • Assist with the management of catering and Special Events
  • Attend meetings and complete other duties as assigned by Management.
  • The Director of Food & Beverage must possess strong management qualities. This position directs at least 2-5 seasonal managers in addition to overseeing 100+ hourly employees and non-profit groups.

Strong communication is a key to success in this position. The Director of Food & Beverage will be in constant communication with the Team’s management team. 
  • Experience managing food service operation a must, experience in a sports or stadium venue a major plus
  • 2-3 years' experience in the food service industry
  • Proficient in the following dimensions of food services: food planning and preparation, inventory management, sanitation, service standards, staffing and employee management, payroll and financial reporting
  • Ability to think on your feet and under pressure while maintaining a positive outlook and attention to detail
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Creative culinary and strong financial management skills
  • Ability to effectively manage a team and large seasonal workforce
  • Ability to relocate if applicable
  • Must be punctual and dependable
  • Able to organize time effectively, forward plan and prioritize tasks to ensure workload is balanced and urgent situations are dealt with immediately. Ability to multitask and delegate duties when necessary
  • Ability to read, speak and write English language in order to interact with staff and guests, additional language skills would be a distinct advantage and benefit
  • A genuine interest and understanding in food and drink 
  • Must have excellent knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette
  • Ability to work long hours and flexible shifts including mornings, nights, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to think on your feet and under pressure while maintaining a positive outlook and attention to detail
  • Ability to perform under pressure effectively for extensive periods of time while maintaining professionalism.
  • Knowledge of the appropriate table settings and service ware
  • Practice safe work habits, follow all safety policies and procedures and regulations, and complete company-wide safety training and any additional job specific safety training.
