Position Overview:
The Fredericksburg Nationals Baseball Team’s is looking for a someone who brings a strong work ethic and great communication skills and is a team player. This role will focus on being a creative thinker, being organized and require the person to collaborate with the Corporate Partnership team members and other members of the FredNats team. This role will create and sell high-impact sponsorship opportunities, group naming rights areas and act as a trusted representative for the FredNats Organization. The selected candidate will be well experienced researching partnership targets, managing data, thinking creatively about new ideas, and working on partnership fulfillment to maintain partnership renewals and new clients.  

The Fredericksburg Nationals Director of Business Development should be self-motivated, goal oriented, energetic and someone of standup integrity. You should be dedicated and disciplined in all aspects of partnership sales, fulfillment and renewals as individual and as a part of the partnership team.

Ø  Secure new partnerships for the Fredericksburg Nationals from prospecting potential partners, researching, meeting presentation, creating proposals, and closing contracts.
Ø  Reach or overachieve partnership sales goal through renewals and closing new partners. 
Ø  Develop and maintain trusting relationships with current partners and new partners.
Ø  Create innovative strategic partnership programs that exceeds partnerships expectations.
Ø  Ability to create and deliver proper proposals based on the needs and wants of the partners from your meetings.
Ø  Help with activation and fulfillment of all partners throughout the season and length of the contract.
Ø  Fulfill all reporting needs for customers, accounting, and department needs such as forecasting, sales and pipeline reports.
Ø  Work closely with manager of partnership fulfillment on contract elements, and also all other departments to make sure all contracts are being fulfilled. 
Ø  End of the year proof of performance for all partners based on requests during and after the season is finished. 
Ø  Knowledge of all Fredericksburg Nationals inventory to be prepared for all sales meetings, proposals, and finalizing contracts.

Skills and Experience:
Ø  4+ years of experience selling partnerships/sponsorships for a local sports organization.
Ø  Proven track record of developing and managing corporate partnerships, prospecting, cold calling, meeting setting, presentation and closing skills
Ø  Ability to work all FredNats home games during the 2023 season
Ø  Self-motivator and problem solver
Ø  Excellent communicator and show confidence with building and maintaining the relationships with partners and fans. 
Ø  Strong attention to detail, time lines, and great multi-tasking skills
Ø  Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
Ø  Willingness to have fun and learn
Ø  Someone looking to advance their career in sports or the business industry
Ø  Someone with a four year or more college degree in the business management or other related fields, this is preferred but not a must.
