Accounting and Finance: Risk Management/Strategic Planning
Start Date: February 22, 2022 (Full-Time Position)

All USA Baseball employees will "work-from-home" for the 2022 season. All employees will be expected to work remotely during business hours, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. ET, unless otherwise directed by your supervisor or during USA Baseball sanctioned events. If assigned to work an event, employees will operate on-site at an assigned facility. USA Baseball will implement strict COVID-19 guidelines for all events in 2022 in order to protect the long-term health and safety for its employees and participants.

Position Reports To: Senior Director of Athlete Safety and Education
The Coordinator of Athlete Safety will help implement all elements of USA Baseball’s SafeSport-related policies, guidelines, educational programs, reporting and adjudication services. This position will be responsible for assisting with on-site SafeSport Compliance at USA Baseball events. This position will report to the Senior Director of Athlete Safety and Education.
USA Baseball’s BASE (Baseball Athlete Safety Education) program is its zero-tolerance campaign for any type of abuse within the sport of baseball.  USA Baseball works directly with, and follows all requirements of, the Unites States Olympic and Paralympic Committee and the U.S. Center for SafeSport to keep athletes safe. BASE includes reporting, background checks, education and training, and minor athlete safety policies. Position Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the SafeSport compliance process through tracking and monitoring completion pre-event.
  • Communicate athlete safety requirements and programs with USA Baseball participants.
  • Assist in the SafeSport compliance process through providing on-site compliance and on-site training for USA Baseball events.
  • Provide support at USA Baseball events through athlete safety education.
  • Grow the USA Baseball BASE initiative with non-affiliated amateur baseball organizations.
  • Provide support for the USA Baseball BASE Compliant organizations.
  • All candidates must demonstrate computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Google Drive.
  • Ability to manage a diverse project load, maintain attention to detail, and regularly communicate and build strong, positive relationships with staff is essential.
  • Must have an excellent attitude, communication skills, and work well in a team setting.
  • Flexible and adaptable work schedule for changing organizational needs.
  • Willingness to travel to USA Baseball events, national member organization events, and governance meetings throughout the United States and international competitions around the world.
  • Mentor interns on working in sports and for a not-for-profit organization.
  • Passionate about helping children.
  • Ability to perform some manual labor.
  • Located near Cary, North Carolina.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Background in child sexual abuse and/or sexual assault prevention, public health, family services, or compliance
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills
Required Education:
  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited four year college or university.

USA Baseball is the National Governing Body for the sport of baseball in the United States and is a member of the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) and the World Baseball Softball Confederation.
