Title: FT Nutrition Services Manager



Description: As our Nutrition Service Manager, you have the valued responsibility of leading efforts to serve the highest quality food and provide a safe and enjoyable dining experience to our players and staff. In addition to working with a variety of partners, vendors, and team members, you can utilize your strengths in organization, attention to detail, and critical thinking. Although you will have no direct food preparation responsibilities, you will actively contribute to a best-in-class nutrition program by working to ensure safety, quality, and consistency. This role is perfect for someone who takes pride in the impact they have through nutrition, enjoys managing details, solving problems, and optimizing processes.



Department: Baseball Performance Science
Reporting Relationships: Major League Dietitian, Director of Baseball Performance Science 



Responsibilities: 
  • Collaborate with our lead sports dietitian, food service assistant, Levy Hospitality Company, and catering partners to confirm the preparation, presentation, and delivery of food to guarantee that meals are safe, proportionate, consistent, cooked properly, and aesthetically pleasing
  • Maintain current food safety regulations and certifications
  • Coordinate with our lead sports dietitian and Levy to set long term goals for Food Service Operations
  • Aid leadership with budget preparation and forecasting of expenses
  • Anticipate needs and seek creative solutions that optimize resources
  • Help ensure the appropriate Rays clubhouse employees are compliant with federally regulated policies regarding food handling and safety
  • Actively participate with Levy/chefs to resolve issues related to food safety, quality, service, or wait times
  • Inspect kitchen areas, workstations, and dining areas to verify that all are clean, safe, and in working order
  • Oversee the ordering of lounge supplies
  • Monitor finances to determine compliance with assigned budgets and maintain a reasonable inventory
  • Assist with food catering logistics across our various affiliates and complexes 
  • Collect feedback to determine areas of improvement; participate in innovative problem solving



Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Nutrition, Food Service Management or a comparable position, with 5 years in the nutrition or culinary landscape
  • ServSafe Food Manager certification 
  • Ability to communicate with a wide variety of internal and external staff and vendors
  • Capacity to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and evenings
  • Willingness to learn and a hunger for process improvement
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs
  • Fluency in additional languages, especially Spanish, highly valued
  • Degree completion in Nutrition, Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or a related field nice to have



 Location: St. Petersburg, FL. Minimal travel required.
