Facility Operations/Event Staff: Electrician
Overview:
Under minimal supervision, the part-time Facility & Event Electrician (A2) will install, maintain and repair all electrical systems and equipment at Angel Stadium.  This is a union position, evening and weekend availability is required.  Shifts typically start 2 hours prior to the event start time. 
 
Duties:
  • Assists the Facility and Event Electrician as directed
  • Sets up audio and video equipment for events
  • Works with sound technician to prepare monitors, microphone, and sound levels for National Anthem
  • Troubleshoots electrical circuits, Installs and replaces switches, panels, conduit, wiring, fixtures, kitchen equipment, emergency generator equipment and electronic controls
  • Troubleshoots electrical parts of air conditioning controls
  • Troubleshoots transformers, automatic motor control circuits, disconnects, machine shop equipment, exhaust and intake fans
  • Works with low voltage and up to 480 voltage.  May work with power circuits up to 4160 volts with proper training and equipment
  • Troubleshoots and repairs RF, analog, digital, CCTV and MATV systems
  • Troubleshoots Electrical lighting systems and Sound Systems
  • Utilizes various testing and diagnostic equipment
  • Performs other job related duties as requested

General Qualifications:
  • Journey level skill as an electrician
  • Understanding of methods, equipment and materials used in electrical trade
  • General knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations 
  • Knowledge of applicable laws, National Electrical Code, Title 24, regulations 
  • Knowledge of basic first aid procedures
  • Principles of electronic theory as applied to electrical and electronic circuits, wiring and electrical equipment used in power generation 
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to work from blueprints, shop drawings and sketches
  • Ability to work independently with little direction 
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationship with others
  • Skills in maintenance and repair of electrical circuits up to 480 volts
  • Must be capable of using a computer for office related tasks
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays as required. 

 Degrees/Certificates/License/Experience:
  • High School diploma or equivalent 
  • Completion of a recognized vocational education program in electrical or industrial electrical or industrial training or completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship program 
  • Possession of or ability to obtain a valid California Driver’s license 

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
  • Ability to use both hands, arms and legs, , stand and walk, climb stairs and ladders up to 300 feet, and work in confined or high spaces
  • Requires climbing, standing, bending and lifting heavy objects in awkward and confined spaces using proper and rigging techniques 
  • Subject to exposure to fumes, dust and levels of vibration
  • Subject to exposure to high noise levels required ear protection 
  • Subject to working near moving parts of heavy machinery and high voltage equipment where the use of appropriate protective/safety equipment is required 
  • Subject to working at heights and in adverse weather conditions 
  • Work includes indoors and outdoors environment 
  • May be subject to after duty call-out
