In-gym and remotely, we get great results training athletes. Strength, skill, therapy and education are foundational elements of those results.

The Pacific Rim associate reports directly to the Coordinator of Pacific Rim operations and Director of Player Development to ensure all elements of NPB in-gym and remote training work in sync with one another.  They achieve this by working collaboratively with other trainers and departments in order to foster athlete development and a positive training experience for NPB athletes.  This is an on-site role where coaches will receive a comprehensive on-boarding course with pitching, hitting, and high-performance. This on-boarding course extensively covers topics including anatomy & physiology, biomechanics, kinesiology, pitch design, advanced analytics, and High Performance.  Associates will spend a large amount of time working with professional baseball players (NPB) from Japan in a remote and in-gym setting as a translator while expanding their skill set through cross department interactions. They will also be responsible for communicating with Japanese business contacts and translating baseball content on occasion. 
We are seeking talented coaches from a variety of backgrounds with knowledge of many disciplines: 

Strength & Conditioning, pitching, hitting, or physical therapy

You will learn more about baseball development in 6 months here than in the last 6 years.
-Must be able to communicate written & speaking in both English and Japanese with native fluency.
-Facilitating a great in-gym and remote training environment.
-Monitoring athlete workouts and engaging athletes to assess.
-Translating workout plans for athletes who will be executing them with and without your supervision.
-Working with our research team and HP, pitching, & hitting departments to continuously improve our training outcomes.
-Create translated weekly educational talks for training athletes.
-Experience using or teaching Driveline's programming.
-Administrative duties: scheduling athletes, tracking hours, planning gym time.
-Computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office & Google Docs.
Candidates applying for this position should be able to lift up to 100 pounds unassisted repeatedly throughout the workday. Also, the physical requirements of this job require frequent walking around, demonstrating and assisting with exercise, throwing and lifting movements; bending, throwing, stretching, lifting, pushing, pulling and squatting are movements performed daily.
-Excellent leadership and verbal communication skills.
-1 season of coaching experience for a college or professional baseball team (either baseball or strength and conditioning).
-Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist or equivalent.
-Excellent "feel". That mix of empathy, common sense and likability that makes people trust you.
-A history of independent learning.
-Creative solutions to unique training limitations.
