Job Title: HOF and Museum - Marketing and Development Intern
Reports To: Marketing and Development Director / Marketing and Development Coordinator
FLSA: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Term: March 19, 2018 – September 30, 2018

Job Purpose: Work with the Marketing and Development Coordinator and Director on activities that support the operations of the Reds Hall of Fame and Museum. This includes, but is not limited to, coordinating development/fundraising projects and events, marketing activities, database management, administrative duties, as well as working certain game days in the ballpark and within the museum to operate merchandise, promotion and fundraising stations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist with planning and executing special events, including but not limited to, autograph signings, promotional events, and Hall of Fame Induction.
  • Assist with communication and relationship management with vendors, sponsors, staff and donors.
  • Conduct donor and prospective donor research, including identification, evaluation and data management.
  • Support Hall of Fame staff with associated logistics with special events/projects, campaigns, exhibits and initiatives related to fundraising and development as needed.
  • Provide clerical support related to fundraising, development and special events/projects.
  • Create and maintain reports and evaluations related to special projects and fundraising.
  • Assist in the execution of various public relations and marketing activities that support the Hall’s mission, including writing for the Web, exhibits and campaign letters.
  • Staff merchandise, promotions, and Hall fundraising activities on certain game days in both the museum and ballpark.
  • Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of all museum exhibits.
  • Assist with museum special events and museum maintenance projects as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Must be available to work some nights and weekends during Reds Games and/or for Chapter Events and other special events when needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, and be comfortable communicating with all levels of staff within organization.
  • Must have ability to complete a variety of tasks and projects in a timely and well-organized manner.
  • Must possess strong organizational skills.
  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook are preferred).

  • Interns should have prior work experience in at least one business setting and/or one sports setting.
  • Interns should be interested in going into sports business and should have or are pursuing an undergraduate/graduate degree in a related field of study.

Schedule/Work Environment: 
  • Must have a flexible schedule and a willingness to commit 25 – 30 hours per week.
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment; however, under special circumstances, employee may have “game day” responsibilities where the employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.
  • Hours may include nights, weekends and holidays.
