The Lexington Legends are looking for a highly motivated Kitchen Manager. This position will oversee the ballpark’s kitchen operation, which supports suite-level catering, picnics, and concession stands. The ideal candidate is comfortable in high-volume, fast-paced environments and preferably has a background in the sports and entertainment food and beverage industry. This is a salary position that will report to the Director of Food & Beverage.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Ensuring that all food items and products are stored, prepared, and served based on the department’s recipe and portion standards
- Overseeing the training of employees to ensure the safe operation of kitchen equipment and utensils and the proper handling of heavy items and hazardous materials
- Scheduling shifts by business hours, days, and occasions
- Evaluate and celebrate/implement necessary corrective action of kitchen personnel
- Supervising food preparation in the kitchen and ensuring that our guests receive a consistent experience
- Maintaining clean working environments and making sure that employees follow the ballpark’s preventive maintenance measures
- Maintaining adequate inventory levels and conducting inventories as needed
- Working with the Food & Beverage managers to create, portion, and price out menu items
- Maintain a standard of health & safety higher than state & local health departments.
- ServSafe Certified is preferred
- This position requires the ability to pick up heavy items, work in hot or cold environments, and be on your feet for extended periods of time
