Facility Operations/Event Staff: Parking Operations

OVG facilities has an excellent and immediate opening for a part-time parking attendant at the Legacy Sports Park opening in January of 2022. Legacy Sports Park is a 320-acre multi-use family, sport and entertainment complex of outdoor and indoor team athletic facilities geared toward high-energy entertainment and sports in Mesa, Arizona.

Summary of Position
To ensure the safety of our guests and employees while they are entering and exiting the parking lots, all while maintaining a high level of customer service.  Ensure the safety of vehicles while in the lots.  Monitoring and controlling the movements of patrons, visitors, using various methods service is also a main component of the job.

Core Responsibilities
  • Provide a high level of service to patrons before, during, and after events. Our goal is to have 100% positive interaction with patrons.
  • Must be able to accurately and responsibly handle money and create change in a fast-paced environment.
  • Monitor the access and egress of patrons in the parking lot.
  • Conduct routine surveillance around the parking lots including the immediate perimeter.
  • Perform other related duties or tasks as assigned or as become evident.
  • Remain calm and professional in all situations.
  • Monitor assigned areas within the parking lots to ensure guest safety and compliance with complex policy.
  • Remove trash and debris. Take trash materials to the proper location and dispose of it properly.
  • Greet, monitor and control the movements of patrons, visitors, and employees.
  • Report pertinent safety, maintenance and personnel information to supervisor.
  • Maintain a professional attitude and appearance at all times. 

Requirements of the Position
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Previous parking lot, cash handling and/or security experience is preferred.
  • Must be able to stand, sit, walk for extended and varying periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Must be willing and able to work in all weather conditions.
  • Must be willing and able to respond to emergent situations.
  • Must be able to work irregular hours including weekends, overnight shifts, holidays and unscheduled and forced overtime shifts.
  • Must be able to work effectively with limited supervision at times.

Physical demands:
While performing the essential functions of the job, the employee constantly operates a computer and other office devices such telephones, copy machines, fax machines, etc; occasionally moves about inside the office to access storage areas, cabinets and office machinery; constantly moves about the arena and event sites before, during and after events to service clients and supervise staff; constantly communicates via telephone, email and in- person with others to exchange accurate information.

Work environment:
The duties of this position are performed indoors and occasionally outdoors in the weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environments is usually moderate to loud during events and minimal during non-event times.

Position requires constant attention to precise details and accuracy of specified standards including: following simple to complex (more than 3 steps) instructions, and concentration which frequently extends beyond 30 minutes at a time.
