Position Summary
We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist, reporting to the SVP of Human Resources,  to coordinate the daily functions of the Human Resources department including employee relations, administering benefits and leave, coordinating employee engagement & training and enforcing company policies and practices. This person will be expected to perform a variety of tasks, help keep long term projects on track, and handle urgent requests as needed. An ideal candidate is looking to continue to grow their HR experience in a fast-paced, autonomous environment.
While you are here, you will:
  • Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications
  • Work with the talent acquisition team on the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
  • Conduct or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications
  • Implement new hire orientation and employee recognition programs
  • Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resources programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
  • Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

What you need to be qualified:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • 2-3 years of HR experience preferred, particularly in a venue or entertainment environment
  • Demonstrated communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail as well as analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality with a strong client-focused approach
  • Knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems

Job Questions:

  1. All UBS Arena employees are required to be vaccinated for Covid-19. Per CDC guidelines, employees will be considered fully vaccinated pursuant to the following schedule: (1) two weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series (i.e., the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines); or (2) two weeks after a single-dose vaccine (i.e., Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine).
