Overview
The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing all accounting functions of the monthly close process for the Miami Beach Convention Center Campus (MBCC). This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and policies to ensure the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements.
This role will pay a salary of $80,000 to $92,000.

Responsibilities
- Assists the Director of Finance with the preparation of monthly financial statements for the Client and OVG360 Corporate, including preparation of monthly forecasts, and monthly variance analysis.
- Assists the Director of Finance in reviewing the monthly financial statements with senior management.
- Maintains the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers; prepares various monthly journal entries and verifies the accuracy of general ledger coding. Records revenues from 3rd party contractors
- Responsible for reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
- Assists in development and implementation of facility goals and priorities relating to financial management, accounting, purchasing, and payroll in compliance with State and Federal Law, and policies and procedures.
- Establishes system controls for new financial systems and develops procedures to improve existing systems
- Maintains accounts receivable function (A/R) including generating all invoices and applying client payments, Also maintains accounting records for advance show deposits.
- Assists the Director of Finance with the annual budget, the annual report and other financial reports as needed.
- Assists the Director of Finance with the MBCC’s annual audit including working with internal and external auditors in verifying financial information/procedures.
- Assist and coordinates training of accounting staff and identifies training needs.
- Monitor, review accounting & payroll reports for completion and accuracy.
- Responsible for monthly sales tax reconciliation & filing.
- Manages & assist the accounting staff who are responsible for financial reporting, billing, collections, payroll and payable.
- Respond to inquiries from the Director of Finance.
- Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- BS. in Accounting from a four-year college or university.
- At least 3 to 5 years experience in public accounting and/or financial management.
- CPA a plus but not required
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Bi Lingual (English/ Spanish) preferred
- Extensive knowledge of general and cost accounting.
- Excellent math skills; high aptitude for figures.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and organizational ability.
- Ability to maintain highly confidential information is required.
- Pro-active approach to accomplishing tasks.
- Effective problem solver.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have extensive knowledge of accounting software (preferably Sage), MS Excel, and MS Word software.

- No certifications are required.
WORK SCHEDULE:
The work schedule of this position typically involves a 5-day work week Monday through Friday; however, this may fluctuate based upon the needs of the community, a project or event. Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule including late nights, early mornings, weekends or holidays and the ability to remain available 7 days per week.
