Overview

We are looking for an administration and hospitality professional to join our team as Full Time Public Safety Supervisor!

 

This role will pay a wage of $18.

Responsibilities

This position ensures that all security personnel on the assigned shift are performing their assigned job duties. Additional duties include patrolling all areas of property and parking lots, securing doors, ensuring the safety of all guests, employees and contract labor while on premises. This position secures property during the move in/out of trade shows, conventions or events, and performs the following duties personally or through subordinates:

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts shifts briefings with staff providing necessary information.
  • Reviews department checklists, and accounts for all equipment.
  • Coordinate building security with the various show promoters, exhibitors and sub-contractors working events at the facility.
  • Liaison with the Miami Beach Police Department.
  • Assists in overseeing the security of all self parking lots and staffing of parking lot attendants during scheduled events.
  • Control all building keys issued, the installation of all building locks and all key work for the facility.
  • Maintain all building access including patron entry, show promoters and exhibitor move-in/move-out and employee entry.
  • Maintain all security equipment under control and report any irregularities or shortages.
  • Interacts with the public and all levels of management and fellow employees.
  • Secures the safety of all individuals and property on the premises.
  • Appropriately deals with “unruly “people.
  • Works with local Fire and Police departments to secure the facility.
  • Communicate issues or concerns to the Public Safety Manager and Public Safety Director as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Directly supervise employees in the Public Safety Department, as a first line supervisor. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Oak View Group’s policies and applicable statutory laws; as well as addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

 

High School diploma or G.E.D.; some college preferred.

At least three years of in the security field required.

Minimum of one year of supervisory experience in security field required.

Security experience in a public assembly facility highly desirable.

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 

Proficient in all phases of Security Control Systems and security related investigations; to include fire safety procedures, bomb threats and evacuation in the event of an emergency.

Is knowledgeable of the duties and the responsibilities of security operations.

Clean police record and ability to qualify under existing State security licensing guidelines.

Demonstrated the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Evince strong customer service skills.

Good written, verbal and interpersonal skills are required; also possess the ability to interact with all levels of staff including management.

Ability to work irregular hours including, night shifts, weekends and holidays.

Professional presentation, appearance, and work ethic.

 

COMPUTER SKILLS:

 

To perform this job successfully, the incumbent must possess computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook is preferred; as well as familiarity with office equipment.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

 

Florida Class D license required.

Valid driver’s license required.
