OVG has an exciting opening for a Box Office Manager on the campus of Arizona State University for the new 5,000 seat multi-purpose arena and community ice rink. The new arena is scheduled to open in fall 2022 and will be home to ASU Sun Devil Men’s Ice Hockey, ASU Wrestling and Women’s Gymnastics programs, an NHL franchise, as well as variety of events, including concerts, family shows, comedy and other live events. The new community ice rink will serve as a public venue to the community and will host hockey and skating programming, youth competitions, educational opportunities and more. 

The position reports directly to the General Manager and will provide an exceptional guest experience for a diverse group of guests/clients in the youth, amateur/collegiate, professional, and special events space. The Box Office Manager directs and oversees all aspects of the daily operation of the box office, providing unsurpassed customer and guest service. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in ticketing, staff management and customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Build and maintain all ticketed events at the facility.
  • Coordinate event information between promoter, facility personnel and the ticket company, including pricing and seating configurations.
  • Manage communication and reporting with event promoters, event staff and building management.
  • Assist/coordinate/collaborate as needed with ASU Athletics and Arizona Coyotes ticketing staff.
  • Oversee the internal controls of daily box office operations.
  • Assist and support box office staff in any of their job functions, as needed.
  • Facilitate open communication with supervisors and staff.
  • Ensure complete and satisfactory on-going staff training.
  • Responsible for financial settlement and accountability of all revenues collected from ticket sales and ticket-related income for events.
  • Complete and distribute accurate daily ticket counts.
  • Responsible for scheduling and payroll control for part-time box-office staff.
  • Balance and reconcile all ticket seller transactions on a daily basis.
  • Create, modify and maintain inventory for all ticketed events in a computerized ticketing environment.
  • Organize departmental budget information for internal and external meetings as required.
  • Adhere to established policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.

Requirements
  • Minimum of five (5) years of box office experience in a sports and entertainment facility. Experience in a sports complex and/or facility preferred, 
  • Knowledge of Ticketmaster systems required including Host, Archtics & TM1.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience.
  • Ability to provide leadership, engage in positive interaction with staff and guests, prioritize, organize, motivate staff, problem solve, delegate, follow-up and communicate, both orally and in writing.
  • Skill and working knowledge of computerized ticketing operations and software (Ticketmaster systems, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint), guest relations & phone etiquette, long term and immediate decision making, verbal / written communication, accounting / cash management procedures.
  • Ability to multi-task daily, be organized, detail oriented, self-driven, forecast issues and handle last minute projects to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven understanding of and passion for excellent customer service.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
