Event Management: Event Operations/Management
Position Summary:
Work with the Landmark management team to manage and oversee major sports and entertainment events in the Buffalo area and surrounding region, including Highmark Stadium and the Buffalo Bills. This position will report to the Buffalo Branch Manager and oversee and assist in the management of events that require from 2 to 500 teammates. This position will focus on all components of Landmark operations, including but not limited to the following:
  • Help plan for all events that fall under the purview of Landmark’s Buffalo branch office.
  • Attend meetings with clients for all events and maintain regular communication with clients throughout the entire event planning and implementation process.
  • Regularly report to Landmark management regarding updates for Buffalo events and operations.
  • Oversee the preparation process for events, including but not limited to, scheduling of teammates, preparing necessary equipment, preparing and ensuring uniform compliance, signing in/out of teammates for events, making sure all paperwork for events complies with Landmark and Client policies, and working through any issues or incidents that may arise at Landmark events or related to Landmark operations.
  • Management of the recruitment process for Landmark, including individuals and nonprofit groups.
  • Participate in training Landmark teammates.
  • Assist with various human resource tasks, including but not limited to, payroll, teammate. trainings, new hire trainings and processing, event logistic setups, nonprofit groups coordination and post-event processing, and other duties as they arise.
  • Schedule teammates to work events and verify they will show up for shifts.
  • Create post-event reports and oversee corrective actions required as a result of these reports as well as follow-up meetings with Landmark management and Client representatives
  • Monitor, coach and train teammates during events.
  • Oversee event safety and crowd management at Landmark events
  • Work all major events at Highmark Stadium, including all home Buffalo Bills games, all stadium-wide concerts, and any other events deemed necessary by Landmark management or Client representatives
  • Limited travel for teammate recruitment and trainings, group meetings, recruitment and trainings and other similar job functions as assigned, as well as possible assistance in other Landmark regional and national markets.

Preferred skills: 
  • College degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Some experience in events or security/crowd management preferred.
  • Applicable NIMS/FEMA Training Modules completed (Landmark can provide such training upon hiring if not completed prior).
  • Strong computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong leadership and communication (written and oral) skills including experience in speaking to large groups or crowds.
  • Able to work for the good of the clients’ cause in a team environment.
  • Able to perform well in hectic event situations with large volumes of people.
  • Able to handle working long hours and extensive walking during events.
  • Strong drive for success and a commitment to succeed.
  • Willingness to learn, take direction and accept constructive criticism.
  • Able to work outdoors in all climates.
  • Must provide own transportation.
  • Willingness to travel to other regions if needed (costs of travel covered by Landmark).
  • Must be able to pass criminal background check upon conditional hiring.
