Description:

Flyers Charities, the nonprofit of the Philadelphia Flyers, is looking for an outgoing intern interested in learning the fundamentals of nonprofit work. The intern will be involved in different aspects of the charity including administrative duties, event logistics, marketing, and fundraising.

Candidates must be able to communicate clearly, collaborate on projects, take initiative on tasks, and possess exceptional customer service skills. Candidates must also be able to operate in a fast-paced environment.
*The internship begins in September, is paid, full-time, and in-person in Philadelphia.*

Qualifications:

College junior or senior or graduate student with a flexible schedule to work events, office days, and game nights.
Must have excellent communication and customer service skills.
Must be a self-starter, dependable, and collaborative.
Must have interest in nonprofits.
Must have a general working knowledge of Word and Excel.
Must be willing to get involved in projects with varying degrees of difficulty.
Must have reliable transportation to get to Wells Fargo Center, Flyers Training Center, and event venues.
Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Charitable Events:

Assist in the preparation of events, including Gritty 5K, Flyers Charities Carnival, Casino Night, and other community events.
Assist with day-of event set-up, troubleshooting, and clean-up of events.
Assist in tracking of event sponsors, including tracking social media analytics.

Online Auctions:

Assist with online auctions, including collecting for content, promoting bidding on auction, communicating with winners, and fulfilling orders.

Game Nights:

Organize concourse tabling during Flyers home games.
Organize, promote, and sell Mystery Pucks at Flyers home games.
Promote charitable efforts and events during Flyers home games.
Be a face of Flyers Charities to answer questions about Charities initiatives.

Administrative:

Assist with signing days and transportation of items to and from Flyers Training Center.
Collaborate on projects with other departments.
Manage administrative office duties, such as collecting and distributing mail and answering phone and email inquiries.
Other duties as assigned.
