Comcast Spectacor has an exciting new role to expand its social media team. The ideal Social Media Manager is a social media guru with a knack for driving fan interest for its marquee properties, the New Wells Fargo Center and the Philadelphia Flyers.

Description/Duties
  • Along with Sr. Manager, Digital Media, create the content strategy and calendar for Wells Fargo Center and Philadelphia Flyers social platforms.
  • Develop and curate engaging social content, both through strategic planning and real-time content creation for Wells Fargo Center and Philadelphia Flyers brands.
  • Research emerging digital trends and best practices, particularly those that resonate with a gen-z audience to drive fan growth across the Wells Fargo Center and Philadelphia Flyers brands.
  • Maintain unified brand voice across all social media platforms for both Wells Fargo Center and Flyers brands.
  • Along with Senior Manager, Digital Media, oversee the Social Media Specialist.
  • Work in partnership with the digital content team to achieve marketing objectives while creating authentic, measurable content.
  • Participate in the ideation and brainstorming of creative and promotional content.
  • Collaborate across the Comcast Spectacor portfolio on strategies that leverage players, partners, influencers, and/or celebrities.
  • Drive fan interest at the intersection of social media, sports, and entertainment culture.
  • Support development of content plans and activations for the portfolio social calendar.
  • Work with public relations and advertising staffs to coordinate marketing efforts around upcoming events and initiatives at the Wells Fargo Center.
  • Work with graphic and video teams to create digital assets across all digital channels to drive engagement.
  • Execute best practices and emerging offerings across all consumer brands.
  • Pull and review social analytics from multiple resources and produce regular reports for department and key players to present insights into the usage, performance, and success of digital initiatives.
  • Work with corporate partnerships team to pitch and execute new sponsorable products.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:
  • Multi-talented content creator with experience in copywriting, photography, videography, and/or graphic design.
  •  Proven track record of managing successful digital campaigns across social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X (Twitter).
  • Bachelor or graduate degree in Digital Media, Visual Communications, Marketing, Communications, or related majors.
  • Has a finger on the pulse of emerging digital trends, Philadelphia’s social audiences, and is dedicated to increasing the connection to our current fans while attracting new fans through engaging content.
  • Has a passion for live entertainment, and insight into popular musical artists and trends.
  • Understands interactive marketing, social networks, sports, and internet culture.
  • Proficiency in Social Media Platforms, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Analytics and Microsoft Office required.
  • Detail-oriented, with ability to maintain focus in fast-paced environment.
  • Strong eye for proper spelling and grammar.
  • Comfortable working with high-profile talent.
  • Creative mindset and exceptional organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Enthusiastic teammate that isn’t afraid to take risks and wear many hats.
  • Ability to travel and work nights, weekends and select holidays, in addition to traditional business hours is required.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience, live entertainment background preferred.

Intellectual/Social demands:
While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is continuously asked to multi-task under time limits.  Position requires constant attention to precise details and accuracy of specified standards including: following simple to complex (more than 3 steps) instructions, and concentration which frequently extends beyond 30 minutes at a time. Employees in this role will constantly be in leadership role; this requires directing others either verbally or in writing to complete tasks in prescribed time frame.  This position also requires constant use of interpersonal skills including: ability to direct/motivate/inform staff and foster collaboration, being able to recognize and resolve conflicts, being able to openly communicate in writing and verbally with clients. 

Physical demands:
While performing the essential functions of the job, the employee constantly operates a computer and other office devices such telephones, copy machines, fax machines, etc; occasionally moves about inside the office to access storage areas, cabinets and office machinery; constantly moves about the arena and event sites before, during and after events to service clients and supervise staff; constantly communicates via telephone, email and in-person with others to exchange accurate information. 

Work environment:
The duties of this position are performed indoors and occasionally outdoors in the weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environments is usually moderate to loud during events and minimal during non-even times.
