Summary

ASM Global has an immediate opening for a Department Head, Human Resources, at Barclays Center. This role is responsible for performing all aspects of Human Resource functions in accordance with ASM Global policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Overall responsibility for Human Resource Department and staff.
Provide direction and appropriate resolution to local Human Resources and Management Teams on HR related matters including, but not limited to employee relations matters, recruitment, benefits, HRIS, Training and policy interpretation.
Review and escalate to corporate as appropriate; investigations, involuntary terminations and complex employee relations issues.
Ensures compliance with company values, policy, procedures, and state and federal laws as well as partners with all labor unions for a positive, collaborative working relationship.
Identify HR process gaps (recruitment, payroll, hiring, onboarding, investigations, performance management and terminations) and partner with internal HR team and department heads to address and resolve any inefficiencies.
Work with GM, client HR and legal to effectively address employee and labor relations issues with urgency and empathy.
Work with GM and client HR to evaluate team structure and skills and propose org design and oversee hiring plans.
Responsible for investigating and gathering pertinent documentation for responding all local EEOC, NYDHR and NLRB charges in conjunction with Corporate Human Resources and/or local labor counsel.
Oversee the management of full cycle recruitment for all positions.
Provide continual training for local HR Department and Management Team.
Ensure compliance with ASM Global Human Resources policies and procedures, legal requirements, state and federal regulations and government reporting regulations.
Maintain and compile departmental reports weekly, monthly, and as otherwise directed.
Serve as a member of the Leadership Team.
Perform other duties as required and assigned.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university
10+ years of solid Human Resources Generalist/Management experience
5+ years' experience in a HR leadership position
Strong understanding of all aspects of HR including, recruitment process, benefits administration, employee relations, payroll and other HR functions
Union experience is required
Excellent communication, leadership and planning skills
Detailed knowledge of FLSA, HIPAA, ADA, COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, AAP, EEO and related state and federal regulations required

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

PHR/SPHR preferred

Skills and Abilities

Requires solid understanding of state and federal laws pertaining to human resource functions
Able to think critically in challenging situations
Clear written and verbal communications
Excellent time management skills
Strong attention to detail
Able to maintain confidential information

Computer Skills

Proficiency in Word, Excel, and other Microsoft Office Suite programs
Experience with ADP Enterprise and/or other HRIS systems desirable
