Position Title: Premium Sales Manager
Department: Premium Sales
Reports To: Director of Sales
Classification: Salaried, Exempt
Position Summary: This person will assist the Premium Sales team with prospecting and selling premium inventory for Citizen Business Bank Arena. Responsible for selling and servicing full season suites, club seats and event suites. In addition, selling or assisting with advertising and sponsoring opportunities.
Essential Functions:
  • Make outgoing calls and set outside appointments each day to prospective clients to sell premium inventory
  • Achieve and exceed predetermined sales goals and objectives
  • Formulate and maintain weekly prospecting activity reports
  • Proactively research, solicit, and follow-up on sales leads
  • Assist with the management of sales database and administrative duties
  • Required to work Citizens Business Bank Arena events and other SMG facilities as needed
  • Maintain existing client relationships and solicit for renewals
  • Identifies organizations within assigned market segment, which can be potential customers of the Citizens Business Bank Arena.
  • Creates and maintains client base within the market
  • Develops and maintains professional relationships with clients
  • Continue prospecting new clients and business via various solicitation methods includes but not limited to internet research, telephone, letters, and personal contacts
  • Conducts site tours of Citizens Business Bank Arena. Entertains clients as appropriate
  • Develops and maintains an accurate, up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge of the capabilities of products and services and effectively uses this knowledge as a sales tool
  • Prepares and delivers written and oral sales presentations to individuals and/or groups as appropriate
  • Documents, thoroughly, information relating to contacts and needs of clients or prospective clients. Assures such files and database are properly organized and kept up to date using the department's filing procedures
  • Stimulates the constant improvement of selling methods and productivity.
  • Maintains a positive and professional image and builds an effective rapport with clients or prospective clients
  • Follows up with all leads in a timely manner
  • Attend networking meetings and local meetings to solicit business; responsible for pre-planning, target marketing, pre and post milers and all arrangements for in which incumbent participates
  • Assist in the planning and execution of promotional events, and special projects.
  • Assists the Director in the implementation of sales plans and objectives, and recommends programs and policies to achieve these plans and objectives.
  • Assists on special assignments as required by the Director
Experience/Training/Education:
Required:
  • Four-year degree from an academic institution, business or hospitality preferred
  • Five years minimum of entertainment sales experience
  • Strong analytical skills to be able to determine quality of business and best suited business opportunities for community
  • Willing and able to work evenings, weekends and holidays based on client and office demands
  • Experience in sales and client account management is a must. Sales and marketing experience in the sports and entertainment industry is preferred
  • Possess the skills to both acquire new accounts and manage existing accounts
  • Excellent communication and phone skills, with an ability to think and react to situations confidently
  • Demonstrate ability to identify opportunities, develop account strategies, and negotiate creative solutions
  • Must be assertive, persistent, and result-oriented
  • Ability to work in a team environment and adhere to department guidelines
  • Experienced with CRM systems and/or other ticket inventory management system is a plus
  • Able to work non-traditional hours including weekends and holidays as needed
 
License/Certificate:
Valid California Driver License
Knowledge/Abilities/Skills:
Knowledge of:
  • Methods of preparing and presenting effective sales presentations
  • Marketing principles and public relations
Ability to:
  • Skill and ability to write and initiate marketing budget plans
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Maintain a professional image
  • Tactfully interact with staff, clients, the general public, and the hospitality community
  • Strong and consistent ability to prioritize activities within specific time guideline and to handle multiple responsibilities within a specific time frame
Skill to:
  • Ability to operate computer, fax, email system and general office equipment including laptop computers when traveling away from office
  • Computer knowledge in Microsoft Office
  • Operate a motor vehicle.
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
This position requires sitting and working on the computer as well as the phone; assisting with duty manager requirements for events which would include standing and walking;
Occasionally, bending, stooping, and lifting may be required. Position may subject to adverse conditions and irregular schedules.
