We are seeking an Assistant Director of IT to join our team.  The Assistant Director of IT is responsible for designing and supporting operational computer networks in support of the arena’s operational requirements and business goals; serves as backfill to IT Director.

  • Brings a positive, service-oriented approach to the department and our customers
  • Remains up to date with data center hardware, system configurations, maintenance schedules, and agreements - servers, communication equipment, SAN storage
  • Serves as first point of escalation for all IT related customer issues and system problems
  • Monitors Windows server 2012/2016, SQL Server, VMWare, IIS, Cisco, and Veeam environments
  • Maintains end-user hardware; workstations, monitors, printers (local and network), scanners, and other devices
  • Regulates end-user software: imaging, subscriptions, licensing, software maintenance, and upgrades with strong working knowledge of Windows, Office, and enterprise software packages
  • Regulates and tests the overall security of the infrastructure, internet-related services, systems, and data of the company
  • Maintains awareness and scheduling of vendor projects, department implementations, repairs, and the potential impact to the business day and or scheduled events
  • Oversees an enterprise POS system
  • Oversees installation, implementation, upgrades, training, and maintenance of various software, service, and hardware solution projects
  • Develops, in conjunction with the Director of Information Technology and senior management, policies and procedures for organizational-wide technology management, policies and procedures, including disaster planning and critical services recovery
  • Coordinates the ordering, installation, invoicing and collection for telecommunication and billing services for COC events per the request of COC, Levy, teams, promoters, press, and vendors
  • Sustains vendor relationships and general accounting practices - specifically in the areas of orders, invoicing, billing, and installations
  • Oversees support and projects management, monthly\annual reporting, analytics, and security audits
  • Ensures team development through training programs to support business needs

Education / Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 2 years related Finance/Accounting experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 2 years IT management experience
  • Minimum of 5 years data networking experience with Windows servers, server hardware, Network Attached Storage, routers, firewalls and switches (layer2 and 3), VPN solutions
    Web programming and SQL knowledge a plus

Physical Demands/Work Environment
  • Position requires the ability to reach with hands and arms, and use hands to handle, or feel, stand, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, walk and sit
  • Position requires the ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds while twisting and/or turning
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to work at heights and climb stairs and/or ladders
  • Ability to hear and speak with co-workers, customers, contractors, and vendors
  • Ability to reach upward, or squat downward to reach computer equipment
  • Ability to lift and/or move 40 pounds of computer-related equipment unassisted
  • Ability to work extended hours including nights, weekends, holidays
  • Ability to work during normal business hours, after hours and on weekends on site or via mobile phone is required
  • Ability to respond on an immediate basis on site or via mobile phone is required/company phone allowance is provided for business use of personal phone.
