ABOUT UNION YOUTH
**This is not a role with the Philadelphia Union first team, second team, or Academy**

WHAT CAMPS & PROGRAMS DO WE OFFER?
Union Youth Soccer Camps & Programs are designed to meet players where they are in terms of development. The camps & programs offered throughout the year include UTrain, Union Camps, Union Tournaments, and the Player Pathway Program.

UTRAIN
Philadelphia Union provide youth programs and clinics which are designed to provide a series of training sessions that allow the Union to connect with local clubs and the soccer community. The UTrain Program offers programs for all level of players looking to train outside of their club environment. The programs range from beginner to elite level and delivered under the instruction of the Philadelphia Union Youth coaching staff.

UNION CAMPS
Union Youth Soccer Camps are designed for ages 6 to 14 years old.  All camps are designed to create a professional & engaging environment for players to learn and improve their game.

PLAYER PATHWAY PROGRAM
The Philadelphia Union Youth Player Pathway Program (PPP) provides supplemental development training (club neutral) by creating a player-centered learning environment for advanced level boys and girls ages U10—U14. The Union Youth is also part of the identification program for the Union Academy.

ABOUT THIS ROLE
This role will be responsible for managing current contracts for all Philadelphia Union Youth club affiliates and manage staffing needs for all active affiliate programs and club commitments.  A pivotal part of this role will be to maintain current affiliate memberships Philadelphia Union Youth .  In addition, the ideal candidate will help grow and expand the club affiliate footprint.  Core to this role is the ongoing positive promotion of the Philadelphia Union Youth through local soccer organizations and communities.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership and Program Development
  • Manage existing affiliate contracts.
  • Promote the Union Youth affiliate program.
  • Advise, educate, and provide development opportunities to all affiliate clubs.
  • Establish and manage partnerships with youth soccer organizations to drive the progression and growth of the Union Youth affiliation network.
  • Drive the Union Youth principles into affiliate programs including an enhanced training component for all levels.
  • Build on existing affiliate development programs and create a full calendar of Union Youth programs in various regions associated with the Philadelphia Union catchment area.
  • Participate in establishing a network of affiliate camps at various venues and areas throughout the region.
  • Affiliate Business Development (New Clubs).
  • Oversee Affiliate Club Onboarding process for new clubs.
  • Consistent communication with all Affiliate clubs.
  • Collaborate with Technical Director to address all staffing needs.
  • Maintain and monitor affiliate P&L, Budgets, and Invoicing.
  • Hold all Affiliate Clubs accountable to benchmark standards as set forth by the Philadelphia Union.
  • Actively engaged with on-field activities a minimum of 4 days per week, will include evening and weekend hours.
  • Other coaching duties may be assigned at the request of the Technical Director.
  • Provide the Senior Director with weekly reports on all active affiliate programs, staff, and upcoming events.
  • Oversee all affiliate programs and the collection of data needed for evaluation of the Union Youth programs. 
  • Other ad-hoc tasks as directed by the Senior Director, Union Youth.
 
REQUIREMENTS
  • National B Coaching License or domestic / international equivalent (A License preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Sports Management, Sports Administration or related
  • Have own transportation. 
  • A proven track record of program development in youth soccer.
  • Experience with coaching both male and female soccer players and the design of associated technical programs.
  • Knowledge of players from Grassroots to High School age with relevant development systems and how they differ based on the ages and stages.
  • Experience in managing, mentoring, and motivating coaching personnel.
  • A passion for the development of coaches, players, and clubs at all levels.
  • An understanding of youth soccer competition structure and how it relates to optimal player development.
  • Experience managing budgets and associated cost management and reporting.
  • An ability to think and plan strategically, to effectively link technical planning with a broader program goal.
  • Strong communications skills.
  • A team player, with an ability to operate as part of an integrated multi-functional management team.
  • A strong understanding and ability to use effectively: 
    • Microsoft Suite 
    • Social media platforms 
    • Registration systems 
  • Must be able to work within a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • This position requires long hours, some weekend events, and both office and on field activity.

If selected for employment with the Philadelphia Union, the candidate will be required to provide valid PA Act 153 clearances and maintain annual Safesport certification.
