Sales & Marketing: Client Relations/Customer Service
Account Executive, Partnership Marketing - USTA National Headquarters (White Plains, NY)

To support the coordination of benefits and overall activation of the USTA’s corporate partner relationships, including supporting the planning and execution of contract deliverables and related department projects. Duties include but not limited to:

  • Support the department Managers and Directors on select US Open sponsor accounts, including pre-event, on-site activation, digital activation and post event reports.
  • Coordinate on-site event execution of sponsor benefits and activation as delegated by department Managers and Directors. 
  • Meeting preparation and action plans including agenda, presentations and meeting notes for the Partnership Marketing Department.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of sponsorship deliverables
  • Coordinate and track various sponsor deliverables as assigned (i.e. sponsor listings, program advertising, digital activation, video board messaging)
  • Assist with tracking various sponsor benefits delivered to USTA (i.e. barter).
  • Provide a high level of customer service.
  • Assist with the coordination of the development of an annual pre-tournament sponsor planner, calendar and/or post-tournament report, and assist with the sponsor summit.
  • Manage other projects as assigned by Directors and/or Managers within Partnership Marketing.

Qualifications/Other:

  • The position requires a college degree, and one to two years of experience working at a professional sports league, professional sports team or agency.
  • Candidate should have a proven ability to develop and maintain strong customer relationships; manage multiple tasks under pressure, and provide a high level of customer service.
  • Additionally, the candidate should possess strong communication skills — oral and written, a high degree of integrity, a positive attitude and the ability to solve problems. The candidate must possess the ability to work as an effective member of a team.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint (development of presentations with photos and text) and Excel (financial and integrated spreadsheets) required.
  • The position is non-exempt (eligible to receive paid overtime)

Manager, Social Media - USTA National Headquarters (White Plains, NY)

Plans, manages and executes strategic digital campaigns across multiple platforms and audience segments to drive brand awareness and grow social media footprint.  Duties include but not limited to:

  • Executes social media strategy as outlined by Director, ensuring goals are met by team and content is continuously optimized for key audience segments
  • Cultivates partnerships with cross-functional counterparts to manage change and foster a social media first corporate culture
  • Manages day-to-day content production process, ensuring creative is channel-appropriate, tagging and linking are optimized
  • Ensures team is delivering on engagement growth across all channels as supported by regular reporting 
  • Applies analytics to derive actionable insights from platforms to inform content decisions 
  • Tracks and monitors KPIs 
  • Approaches content production with an analytical point of view, using insights to optimize efforts and develop mobile-fist content solutions 
  • Identifies key levers of improvement
  • Applies advanced editorial thinking and writing skills that maintain our brand voice for USTA, US Open, US Open Series, Fed Cup and Davis Cup accounts
  • Liaises with 17 Sections on asset development and publishing best practices 
  • Aids in the execution and targeting setup for paid social media posts on channels such as Twitter, Instagram and Facebook
  • Generates new ideas and partners with Director on strategic initiatives
  • Keeps abreast of tennis news, social media trends in the digital space to provide insights that inform strategic projects
  • Works holistically with Director to build and expand on all platforms while maintaining the day-to-day content needs of SnapChat, YouTube and Tumblr 

Qualifications/Other:

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in custom content creation, digital publishing, social media reporting and copy editing 
  • Editorial content background preferred but not mandatory
  • Bachelor’s Degree required in related field e.g. liberal arts, journalism or marketing preferred
  • Strategic and creative thinker 
  • Excellent technical skills e.g. Sprinklr, Trackmaven, FB and Twitter ads manager 
  • Proven track record of growing and building social media audiences
  • Approaches tasks and deadlines with a sense of urgency
  • Strong focus and attention to detail
  • Superior Adobe Photoshop skills

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform as Topspin or Slice at several designated appearances including but not limited to special events during the weekends, tennis clinics, hospital visits, charitable events, Kastles matches and other events as directed by the Marketing Manager.
  • Support the Mascot Program as a primary and/or back-up performer.
  • Represent the Washington Kastles and Topspin/Slice in a professional manner at all times

CHARACTERISTICS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of one to two years of experience as a sports mascot, at either the college, minor-       professional, or professional level
  • Organizational and communication skills
  • Some knowledge of Tennis and the Washington Kastles a plus, but not required.
  • Ability to interact with and entertain a crowd of all ages
  • Willingness to be trained, coached, and critiqued to perform “in character”
  • Must be physically able to perform under extreme temperature conditions
  • Ability to work flexible hours in a part-time role on weekdays, weeknights, weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to maintain and react to a flexible schedule
  • Must have a valid drivers license, reliable transportation, and living DMV area preferred

Marketing and Event Manager (celebrity/political charity) - Washington Kastles (Washington, DC)

Job Description
The annual Washington Kastles Charity Tennis Classic will take place in July 2017. Two teams composed of Republicans, Democrats, Administration, Congress, media, diplomats and Washington Kastles players come together in the innovative and entertaining tennis match to benefit Charity. We looking for someone to be an integral part of the team to help manage the overall event process from every angle. The coordinator will work hand in hand with the Washington Kastles front office staff as well as an outside event management company to organize crucial aspects of the event.

Skills and Requirements

  • 2 years experience with focus on government affairs, event planning and/or fundraising.
  • Significant experience in marketing and promotions.
  • Microsoft office programs specifically Excel, Powerpoint and Word.
  • Previous event experience.
  • Experience working with Congressional and/or White House staff.
  • Extremely organized, focused and task oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Create marketing, promotion and sales plan for selling tickets to the match and attracting sponsors.
  • Communicate with participating Charities and Sponsors on all aspects of event integration.
  • Advertising, e-blasts, contract fulfillment, ticketing, logistics, etc.
  • Secure media partners and convey advertising deliverables to Kastles staff members,
  • Coordinate all event logistics including food and beverage, player uniforms, run of show, Charity check presentations, event signage, PA script, staffing, trophies, pre-match hospitality, etc.
  • Ticket sales initiatives, advertising, sponsor deliverables, etc.
  • Assists Washington Kastles staff with other tasks as needed, including the setup and execution of all Kastles matches, as well as marketing and sponsorship events.
  • Other duties as assigned by the executive management of the Washington Kastles.

Seasonal position will begin immediately and end on July 31. All seasonal positions require a full-time commitment during business hours. Significant weekend and evening hours will also be required, including attendance at all Kastles home matches. Compensation ranges from $600-800 per week on a contract basis, is dependent on experience, and will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.

Senior Manager, Partnerships - WTA Tour (St. Petersburg, FL)

Job Title: Sr. Manager, Partnerships

Summary: The Partnerships Manager will be responsible for supporting the Sr. Director, Partnerships. Duties will include: developing creative concepts; developing sales pitch/presentation materials; research and ideation; pro-forma development and support sponsor servicing support when required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Research and identify new prospects and potential sponsors' businesses to understand their marketing objectives
• Work with the Creative Services team to create partnership presentations, proposals and other materials to generate new revenue 
• Managing and optimizing our clients' campaigns
• Create pro-forma reports for potential contracts 
• Manage and provide appropriate research data for business development efforts
• Project-manage timelines & asset submissions
• Support global sales team at client/agency meetings 
• Ability to interface with multiple WTA departments (i.e. marketing, communications, digital, etc.) and effectively provide integrated solutions for potential and existing sponsors
• Work with the Partnerships team managers to enhance current partnership activation and programs, identify new net revenue opportunities, and provide additional value for the partnerships 
• Assist in the partner renewal process by understanding current sponsor business objectives and KPIs to generate maximum ROI, ROO and results
• Work with creative services to appropriately present creative ideas and concepts to management, players, tournaments and potential partners
• Identify current trends in the industry and incorporate these ideas and concepts into new and existing partnership proposals

Desired skills and background:
• Bachelor's degree in sports management, business administration or related field.
• A minimum of 5 - 7 years previous experience in sales, sponsorship, brand marketing, account management or advertising
• Experience in partnership development or marketing in sports/entertainment is preferred
• Excellent communication skills (written & presentation) 
• Creative and innovative thinker 
• Strong analytical skills
• Ability to work as part of a team yet self-motivated and can work independently
• Must be outstanding in ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple demands and priorities
• High level of professionalism
• Must be willing to travel up to 25% to domestic and international destinations
• Strong experience in MS Office Suite 
• Experience with creative software is a plus
