Position Description – VP, Marketing



The VP, Marketing will lead all marketing efforts for the ITHF. This individual will develop and implement marketing plans across all departments and functions of the organization. The position is based in Newport, RI and reports to the Chief Operating Officer.

Key Responsibilities and Priorities

  • Develop and execute strategies for marketing initiatives for all business units
  • Budget preparation
  • Oversight of project management, including scheduling, timelines and resources
  • Management of the branding and creative development process, including advertising and collateral materials
  • Lead development and maintenance of websites
  • Support VP, Communications in maximizing effectiveness of social media
  • Media planning and placement
  • Leadership and guidance of marketing staff, agencies and vendors

Required Skills

  • Ability to think strategically and execute effectively.
  • Strong organization, planning and communication skills.
  • Comfort level leading branding and creative efforts.
  • Knowledge of website development, social media and digital marketing.
  • Strong management skills and a willingness to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.


  • Minimum of 10 years of marketing experience at the national or regional level.
  • Experience managing staff
  • Undergraduate degree required. Graduate degree a plus.
  • Knowledge and appreciation of the sport of tennis.
  • Tennis industry experience or involvement with the sport not required but beneficial.

Sales & Marketing: Ticket Operations
Coordinator, Ticket Operations - USTA (Flushing, NY)

The position will participate in various aspects of Ticket Operations as it relates to sales, client services and administrative support for the Sr. Director, Ticket Operations. The position will work with the Ticket Sales Strategy and Marketing team to develop and maintain collateral and a communication plan for US Open Subscribers as well as be the lead liaison with Ticketmaster and outside promoter/vendors for the set-up and reporting of any non-US Open events.


  • Responsible for all ticket related set-up, testing, and reporting of non-USO events (i.e., concerts, WTT, etc).
  • Primary contact for IOMedia Portal updates for Subscriber Information. Maintain tracking of updates to ensure appropriate information is updated to the site throughout the renewal, upgrade, sales and printing process for subscribers.
  • Responsible for setup and timeline of Subscriber communication via Constant Contact. Create drafts for review and upon approval, set up and schedule delivery in Constant Contact dashboard.
  • Create drafts for the team to review and track updates on throughout the year. Maintain tracking of updates to ensure appropriate information is updated to the site throughout the renewal, upgrade, sales and printing process for subscribers.
  • Maintain an ongoing spreadsheet to track tickets/plans sold with the support of Marketing/Research/Digital Strategy for targeted sales promotions via email or social media.
  • Assist Sr. Director with Game summary reports and GL reports throughout the year. Setup of report shells and ongoing format updates.
  • Assist Sr. Director for processing of House Seats.
  • Main contact for setup and troubleshooting with Fish for Open Access Subscriber activations at Ticket Office on-site locations (booths and event spaces) during the US Open.
  • Assist with the fulfillment of packing and shipping all Full Series ticket orders, including all internal accounts such as Sponsor, Hospitality, and Marketing.
  • Assist in planning subscriber events with Sr Mgr, Marketing, and Hospitality.
  • Work with Ticketmaster and Sr. Manager of Ticket Operations on the printing of test tickets for all events. Review and update ticket text as need.


  • Knowledge of Ticketmaster Archtics (or similar ticketing system), Ticketmaster Classis (Host), Google Suite and Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience working in a ticket office for major sporting event, team or venue (preferred)
  • Previous experience working in sales or Client Services (3-5 years preferred)
  • Must maintain a positive, outgoing demeanor, adhering to the core expectations of our team at all times and possess ability to work as part of a team and get along with coworkers
  • Must be available to work for the full duration of the US Open tournament, including nights, and weekends and available to work 12+ hour shifts
  • Must be able to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment and during stressful situations
