The Delray Beach Open, home to the world's only combined ATP World Tour & ATP Champions Tour tennis events, is seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals for Internships lasting September to March.  This is a fantastic opportunity for applicants who are interested in professional sporting events, special events and event management.

Position Details:

  • September 18, 2017 - March 9, 2018
  • Four days per week. Some mandatory non-traditional hours including nights, weekends & holidays.
  • $2,600 stipend & 5% Sales Commission
  • May receive college credit but not required

Position Overview

Qualifications:

  • The candidate should be a college graduate or be working toward a college degree in one of the following tracks; sport management, hospitality, marketing, event management or business administration.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally, with all levels of management
  • High energy level and strong work ethic
  • Ability to work well independently as well as in a group environment
  • Strong organizational skills, time management skills and attention to detail required.
  • Ability to multi-task and work under the pressure of deadlines and offer creative solutions on a regular basis.
  • Must demonstrate an eagerness to jump in and help in a variety of areas.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Competency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook required
  • Tennis interest a plus, but not required
  • Bilingual a plus, but not required

Runner, Partnership Marketing - US OPEN, Billie Jean King NTC (Flushing, NY)

Position located at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, Flushing NY

Start date: 2nd week in August  through approximately Sept 12

This position will assist the USTA's Partnership marketing department leading up to and during the 2017 US OPEN.  Duties include (but not limited to): assisting with sponsor day and in-stadium promotions, special sponsor activities (i.e. autograph sessions), sponsor clinics and a variety of administrative tasks. 

This person will also need to be able to lift approximately 30-40 lbs.  The ideal candidate for this position will have interest/experience in sponsorship and/or event marketing, strong work ethic, good phone skills and desire to excel.  Additionally, the candidate must have a professional demeanor as he/she will be exposed to important US OPEN business partners.  The job will include long hours, approximately  60 hours/week.  Meals and uniform will be provided.

2017 Player Security, Court Management, Operations Dispatch Internships - Western & Southern Open (Mason, OH)

Description:

Rare internship opportunity to assist in running one of the world’s premier professional men’s and women’s tennis events.  Each intern is given enormous responsibility which offers great preparation and experience for future endeavors.

Location:

All facility/ operation positions will work entirely from the tournament site located at 5460 Courseview Dr., Mason, Ohio, 45040.  

Dates:

Internships begin and end based on the individual needs of each area.  Start as ASAP and ending date of August 20th.  Length of internship can be extended to meet additional academic requirements of a student.

Qualifications:

Willingness, with a smile, to do whatever it takes to run the very best tournament possible.  Strong desire to learn and work hard.  You must be able to work at least through August 20th to be considered for any of these internships.  Phone interview will be required of all candidates.

Operations Internship - WTA Tour (St. Petersburg, FL)

Position Summary:
The successful candidate will be directly involved in analysis, planning, development and execution of the WTA's Operations. They will support the Operations team by managing the Tournament Zone website, collecting weekly data from Tournaments, and providing assistance on key projects that support the strategic initiatives of the WTA. Candidates will have the opportunity to work cross-functionally with other departments.

This internship will be paid and is expected to last for approximately 26 weeks from August/September 2017 through March/April 2018.

Software Development/Data Entry Internship - WTA Tour (St. Petersburg, FL)

Position Summary: 
This internship will be paid and is expected to last for approximately 26 weeks at 40 hours per week. Duties include but are not limited to: 
• Maintenance of existing codebase including HTML, Javascript, C# 
• Creation of code to solve specific tasks 
• Support of day to day SQL database tasks 
• Data entry as needed

Minimum Qualifications 
• Comfortable working in C#, .NET, HTML, JavaScript, Drupal and XML using Visual Studio and other tools 
• Comfortable with Microsoft SQL and Sybase 
• Understanding of version control 
• Ability to work within a website content management system with rich-text editing

Sports, Science, & Medicine Internship (Fall Semester) - WTA Tour (St. Petersburg, FL)

Position Summary
Position is a paid internship with tentative dates of September 2017 through December 2017 (Fall Semester). The successful candidate will be given the opportunity to observe and participate in all aspects of the Sports, Science and Medicine within a worldwide professional sports organization. Duties include but are not limited to:

• Medical data entry into Sutton Electronic (ARMS) documentation system
• Medical data review for research purposes/ collection
• Review, scan and organize R&D articles (journal articles, research papers, etc.)
• Assist with tournament supply coordination
• Assist with various projects, including but not limited to programs in exercise, nutrition, physicals, athlete care, orthotics and equipment
• Assist with research and presentation materials
• Assist in production of player education materials

Minimum Qualifications
• Obtaining or recently obtained degrees in Statistics, Health Information Systems, Analytics, Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, Medical Documentation preferred
• Athletic training background preferred, but not required
• Medical documentation background preferred, but not required
• Computer literate with electronic documentation skills
• Experience with tennis and/ or "individual" skills
• Interest to increase medical documentation skills
• Strong computer skills
• Good academic standing
• Ability to multi-task
