Sales Manager - PGA TOUR Champions PowerShares QQQ Championship - PGA TOUR Champions (Thousand Oaks, CA)

We presently have an opportunity for a Sales Manager at the PowerShares QQQ Championship, a PGA TOUR Champions playoff event, based in our Los Angeles, CA tournament office.  This position will report to the Executive Director and serve as the lead corporate sales generator for the tournament. Ideal candidates will be individuals with a sales focused career path who are relentless in their pursuit of revenue generation. A proven track record of sales and a network of corporate relationships that can be converted to TOUR clients are required. 

Qualified candidates will have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Sales & Marketing, or other related fields
  • Minimum of six (6) years of sales experience required
  • Background of sports team sponsorship/hospitality sales is preferred
  • Background of sales experience in the Greater Los Angeles area is preferred
  • Proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, and Word)
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication/presentation skills
  • Highest degree of ethics and professional conduct
  • Confident, pro-active, creative, and collaborative style that assimilates well within a team

Responsibilities:

  • Successfully drive revenue
  • Sell portfolio of corporate sales products including: hospitality, pro-ams, and sponsorships/partnerships
  • Prospect, generate leads, develop relationships, understand customer needs, present solutions, negotiate, and close new business 
  • Identify new revenue opportunities by fully activating the marketplace via aggressive outbound sales efforts, targeting new business lines, and creating additional sellable inventory
  • Leverage existing individual network, host club members, title/event/club vendors, community service groups, current clients, TOUR official partners, and other lead generators
  • Develop a robust prospect pipeline with probability of closing to ensure volume necessary to attain individual and tournament revenue goals
  • Manage daily and weekly sales activity including outbound calls, face-to-face appointments, proposals and attending networking functions
  • Utilize CRM tool (Salesforce) to track, measure, and analyze sales activity
  • Employ sales protocol that encompasses multi-year and multi-event strategies
  • Develop creative ways to stay in front of clients throughout the year to fully leverage their participation and ultimately maximize their ROI
  • Work collaboratively with client services, operations, finance, legal and ticketing department to ensure fulfillment
  • Create customized proposals and presentations of the highest quality
  • Attend various community and charitable functions as a representative of the tournament
