Internship: Any Internship
2018 PGA TOUR Summer Internship Program - PGA TOUR (Ponte Vedra Beach, FL)

The PGA TOUR Internship Program is open to all qualified college students and is committed to attaining greater diversity within our organization as well as the golf industry. Our internships are designed to expose college students to the business side of golf that supports one of the world's leading sports brands - the PGA TOUR. While a love of the game is certainly appreciated, knowing how to play is not a prerequisite for the internship. Your internship experience will be enhanced by activities and projects that will allow you to gain a full picture of how the PGA TOUR and other golf organizations work together to support our players, charities and events on the PGA TOUR, PGA Tour Champions, Web.com Tour, PGA TOUR Latinoamerica, PGA TOUR China and the Mackenzie Tour-Canada.

Eligibility Criteria:

As of June 2018, all applicants must:

be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program; and
have completed their Sophomore year; and
be legally permitted to work in the United States*; and
have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0.

*International students must be currently enrolled at a US college or university and obtain all visas and employment authorizations prior to the start of the internship. We strongly encourage these students to begin this process early as it may require several months to complete. Contact the International Student Advisor at your university for specific information and requirements.

PGA TOUR Internship Program
In 1992 the PGA TOUR established an internship program to support our commitment to strengthen diversity within our organization as well as the golf industry. This paid internship is a 10 week program that provides enrolled college students and recent graduates an opportunity to build their work experience and learn the behind the scenes operations of the PGA TOUR.

Opportunities traditionally are available in Corporate Marketing, Human Resources, Communications, Sales & Marketing, International Business Affairs, Tournament Business Affairs, Legal, Finance & Accounting, Domestic & International Media and Digital.

Application Process: Completed on-line applications must be submitted on or before January 15, 2018.

Personal Statement Requirement:   A Personal Statement is a required component to apply for our internship program. The Personal Statement allows you to provide more insight to "who you really are". Please answer both essay prompts below.  Limit your response to a maximum for 500 words between the 2 essays.  They can be divided however you choose (ex. 20 words for prompt 1, 480 for prompt 2; 250 words for prompt 1, 250 words for prompt 2 etc.).  Please upload your response (in Word (.doc) or Adobe (.pdf) format) during the application process by clicking on the "Add Resume & Attachments" link. We will only consider applications with completed statements.

Personal Statement Question:

Prompt 1 - "Mosaic"

Similar to the description of our country, the PGA TOUR's internship program has been referred to as a melting pot.  However, a melting pot often does not allow individuals to hold on to their individuality.  President Jimmy Carter once described America by stating, "We become not a melting pot but a beautiful mosaic.  Different people, different beliefs, different yearnings, different hopes, different dreams."

Mosaics are beautiful pieces of art, where different pieces make up a wonderful whole. This style allows for individual pieces to remain unique, while together creating a magnificent work of art.

Describe how you are a unique piece of a larger part.

Prompt 2 - "Verse"

In the movie Dead Poets Society, the teacher recites Walt Whitman's poem Oh Me! Oh Life!, which ends with the phrase "That the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse."  He then asks his students, "What will your verse be?" Whitman's play is thought to be a metaphor for civilization of life of the human race in general. Describe what your verse will be.

Whitman reminds us that it is in this life – “this powerful play”, that we each have a pivotal role. We may contribute a verse! This defines who we are and what we are about. It is our personal mission statement. What kind of legacy would you want to leave?

We look forward to reviewing your application!
