Data Engineer - PGA TOUR (Ponte Vedra Beach, FL)

We presently have an opportunity for a Data Engineer. This position will help in the development of data systems that will deliver information to all areas of the organization in a time and format that they need to be successful.  The Data Engineer will clearly understand the importance of good data practices and how to effectively communicate these to business users so they can operate successfully within a governed framework. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, related field
  • 3+ years in Data Engineering in an AWS environment developing ETL tools
  • 3+ years practical hands-on work experience with data systems
  • 3-5 years practical, demonstrable, hands-on work experience with SQL reading/writing/database management skills
  • Experience in one or more of the following: Python, Java, Scala, R
  • Sharp attention to detail with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute multiple tasks
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and peers
  • Experience working with relational, NoSQL, and columnar data stores
  • Familiarity with AWS, AWS Lambda, S3, Redshift, MongoDB, Graph Databases, Azure, and other cloud based technologies

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of a newly established data warehouse ecosystem
  • Communicate effectively and define requirements from a wide range of different teams
  • Translate business requests into database design and execution
  • Work closely with domain experts to understand the source systems of the data
  • Build robust and scalable interfaces, ETL programs, and data pipelines
  • Develop and maintain data dictionary for published data sources
  • Develop and improve data release and testing processes
  • Create and manage data sources and integrate with numerous APIs
  • Ability to identify and resolve performance issues
  • Operate in an open source and cloud based environment that includes: AWS, Redshift, Python, R, Hadoop, Spark, and other technologies
  • Work with structured and unstructured data

Senior Manager of Data Analytics - PGA TOUR (Ponte Vedra Beach, FL)

We presently have an opportunity for a Senior Manager of Data Analytics. We are seeking a Data practitioner passionate about enabling business teams to get the most from their data assets. The successful candidate will turn data into information and visualizations, develop KPIs, and extract key insights from information using advanced analytics and predictive modeling techniques to enable business teams to turn data into actionable decisions. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or related field, graduate degree preferred
  • 5+ years of experience with data warehouses/marts supporting BI, reporting, and analytics
  • 5+ years of data analytics and data programing experience
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages, databases, data and at least one data programming language (SAS, R, Python, and/or SQL)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of learning new technologies quickly
  • Experience visualizing data in dashboards and reports
  • Strong communication skills and a customer oriented approach to developing solutions

 Responsibilities:

  • Provide expertise developing BI reports highlighting analytical trending and modeling
  • Identify primary and secondary data sources and integrate data sources into the data ecosystem

  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Define and communicate best practices for report development
  • Support the analysis, design, development, and implementation of new reporting requirements and KPIs
  • Document technical specifications, data models, process flows, requirements, and solutions

  • Work with data architects and engineers to define report performance and optimized data models
  • Collaborate with delivery and technical team members on design and development of solutions

Digital Project Manager - Digital Product & Operations - PGA TOUR (Ponte Vedra Beach, FL)

We presently have an opportunity for a Digital Project Manager within our Digital Product & Operations Department. The Project Manager is responsible for managing a variety of integrations across the PGA TOUR’s digital platforms and products. Integrations could be for new products to be added to the PGA TOUR Digital Portfolio, or enhancements to current products.

Qualified candidates will have the following:

  • BA or BS degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems
  • At least three years of technical project management, design and development on Internet-based platforms, preferably with consumer-facing products
  • Technical background with understanding software development and web technologies; familiarity with XML and JSON is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies such as Agile or other project management practices used in iterative development environments
  • Effective time management skills, including the ability to balance multiple simultaneous project streams with independent, and sometimes competing, timelines
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across multiple teams and at varying levels throughout the organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing business needs
  • PMP certification a plus, but not required
  • Knowledge of the PGA TOUR and the game of golf is helpful, but not required

 Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with PGA TOUR Digital Product Managers for the execution of projects. Understand the business goals & objectives, as well as required functionality, of new products or enhancement of current products
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving Product Manager(s), relevant stakeholders to ensure technical feasibility
  • Conduct testing during the User Acceptance Testing phase of the project development lifecycle. Escalate questions about features and functionality to the Product Manager
  • Work with and manage external PGA TOUR partners and vendors to achieve the new product development goals of the organization
  • Manage project plans, monitor progress, and track project to completion; Communicate changes to the project scope, schedule and costs to key stakeholders
  • Ensure that projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks and escalate issues to management, as warranted

Digital Platform Innovation Project Manager - PGA TOUR Digital - PGA TOUR (Ponte Vedra Beach, FL)

We presently have an opportunity for a Digital Platform Innovation Project Manager within our PGA TOUR Digital Department. The PGA TOUR Digital Operations and Product Development team is a dynamic group that works to provide the best digital experiences for fans of the PGA TOUR. The Project Manager will help facilitate our efforts in creating and exploring forward leaning technologies to drive interest in our sport. This role will work closely with our content team, other product managers, and our project managers to research and identify transformative technologies that will creatively tell the stories of our players and events. The person in this role will be curious about new delivery platforms, researching those platforms and using them to create great fan experiences.

Qualified candidates will have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3-5 years of project management experience in a digital environment
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies such as Agile or other practices used in iterative development environments
  • Experience with online media publishing and content management systems
  • Strong knowledge of the digital ecosystem including content programming, editorial, mobile, etc. as well as related tools and technologies
  • Relationship building and strong communication skills
  • Ability to communicate goals and build consensus among a diverse group of stakeholders
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and balance multiple competing priorities
  • Strong knowledge of golf is preferred
  • Sports background a plus
  • PMP or other project management certification is a plus
  • Comfortable with taking risks and accepting potential project failures
  • Familiarity with Design Thinking principles, Design, and/or Information Architecture is a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Digital Innovation Platform Director and Product Manager to set the Platform Innovation roadmap
  • Manage pilot/prototype/proof of concept projects focused on emerging and early state technology platforms
  • Manage projects through the product life cycle from discovery to launch
  • Manage stakeholder expectations appropriately through all prototyping and pilot phases
  • Work with Consumer Research Manager to collect feedback from fans and end users that will inform decisions during pilot/prototype/proof of concept
  • Partner with product and operations resources to transition pilot projects into the production product suite
  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, vendors, designers, testers, and other stakeholders throughout projects to ensure successful integration of new platforms across a variety of device types
