Information Technology: Programmer
Technical Architect - Digital - PGA TOUR (Ponte Vedra Beach, FL)

We presently have an opportunity for a Technical Architect within our PGA TOUR Digital Department. The role will work closely with team members across our digital group, the Information Systems team, and our vendors to develop and deliver products and platforms for our fans.  The Technical Architect will be responsible for the implementation of the infrastructure, environments and live data feeds that that support the presentation of the PGA TOUR across multiple types of digital platforms.  The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology and sports, with an interest in how the two can intersect to create an exciting fan experience.

Qualified candidates will have the following: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in software engineering and hands on technical management
  • 3 to 5 years’ coding and working with some of the following: XML, PHP, JSON, HTML, javascript and other web and mobile coding standards
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience working in an Agile development environment with dynamic and competing priorities, and the ability to shift with priorities as needed with a positive and accommodating attitude 
  • Experience working within a cloud environment such as AWS or Azure. AWS Certified Solutions Architect or MSCE certifications are preferred.
  • Experience with managing Adobe AEM or other content management systems (for example, Drupal, Joomla, Wordpress, etc.) where publishing and system uptime are of critical importance 
  • Familiar with performance, network and data delivery monitoring and analytics tools such as Omniture, New Relic, Chartbeat, AWS Console and Akamai Luna
  • Demonstrated ability to work with both internal development teams and external vendor development teams
  • Proficiency in the development of APIs, data delivery, mobile app and web development strategies
  • Proven communication and collaboration skills
  • Sports background preferred

 Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with internal departments and external vendors to develop and manage live data feed and non-live data feed systems for multiple consumer platform types.
  • Manage and guide the development of the cloud infrastructure that supports the digital business; this includes oversight of our full technology stack from virtual machines to our CDN partners.
  • Coordinate with product analytics team members to provide regular reporting on key performance metrics related to the infrastructure including but not limited to data delivery, website and app performance.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to product managers, project managers and vendors during the exploration of solutions for new products and emerging platforms that lead to innovative and entertaining presentations of our sport.

Information Technology: Audio/Video Editing and Production
Content Assistant - International Content - PGA TOUR (Ponte Vedra Beach, FL)

We presently have an opportunity for a Content Assistant within the International Content Department. The International Content Assistant is responsible for supporting the production of custom content, international media programming & projects and research for the TOUR’s international content strategy. Primary responsibilities include research for existing and new international content projects, support for Director, International Content and maintaining details on content being produced by sports leagues and content houses in key markets. Also, responsible for assisting during all phases of production as needed. 

Qualified candidates will have the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Television/Film Production, Broadcast Journalism, Communications, International Business and/or related area of study
  • Minimum one year experience in production, international media and/or related field
  • Basic understanding of field production and post-production is preferred 

Responsibilities:

  • Support the International Content team through tasks including but not limited to; researching content ideas, assisting producers, collecting performance data & evaluating the content landscape in key international markets
  • Support the Director, International Content as directed
  • Research content ideas for key international markets
  • Attend Digital Content team meetings and develop a complete understanding of content being produced & planned for their platforms
  • Develop an understanding about the International Media partnerships
  • Research content being produced by other sports leagues & content houses, maintain a database of content available by league and market
  • Handle uploading any information & content to the EIF website including scripts, music reports, transmission details etc… in a timely manner and prior to deadlines.
  • Assist show/project producers during all phases of production as required
  • Perform miscellaneous administrative duties, including faxing and filing scripts, music reports, shipping tapes, etc.
  • Actively contribute ideas in all meetings
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include overtime on nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Special projects or other duties as assigned.

Information Technology: Audio/Video Editing and Production
Production Assistant - PGA TOUR Entertainment - PGA TOUR (St. Augustine, FL)

We presently have an opportunity for a Production Assistant for PGA TOUR Entertainment. As a member of a show team or production unit, is responsible for supporting the production of assigned shows and projects.  Primary responsibilities include research, videotape logging and footage digitizing.  May have the opportunity to generate feature ideas, write scripts and edits short pieces as assigned.  Also, responsible for assisting Producers, Senior Producers and Coordinating Producers during all phases of production as needed.

Qualified candidates will have the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Television/Film Production, Broadcast Journalism, Communications and / or related area of study
  • Minimum one year experience in production and/or related field.  Basic understanding of field production and post-production.  Some experience researching and logging videotape is a plus. 
  • Basic understanding of field production styles and techniques, interviewing and editing.
  • Familiarity with the following production systems and/or technical equipment is required: digital linear video editing, nonlinear video editing (Avid Symphony, Avid Express). 
  • Familiarity with the following production systems and/or technical equipment is a benefit;, non-linear audio editing (ProTools) and computer graphics (Infinite, Pinnacle Deko, SGI, PhotoShop, Flint). 
  • Solid computer skills (WordPro, Microsoft Word, Excel and/or comparable programs).

 Responsibilities:

  • Assist Senior Producers, Producers, Feature Producers and Associate Producers in research, screening, retrieving and logging field tapes and tournament coverage.
  • Assist with the production of elements for shows/projects.  Digitize and organize footage for upcoming edit sessions.
  • As assigned, produce own features by utilizing research, writing and editing skills.  Work with show/project producers to develop editorial skills, production values and writing.
  • Learn the principles of field production and interview techniques.
  • Assist show producers to implement feature material into final program or project during on-line edit sessions or live show.  Assist in the voice over session by compiling all appropriate scripts.
  • Assist show/project producers during all phases of production as required.
  • Log field tapes and live tournament broadcasts as assigned.
  • Actively contribute ideas in all show meetings.
  • Performs miscellaneous administrative duties, including faxing and filing scripts, music reports, shipping tapes, etc.
  • Submit all administrative paperwork including timesheets, music reports, etc. in a timely manner and prior to any deadlines.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include overtime on nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Special projects or other duties as assigned.
