Accounting Manager - Finance & Accounting - PGA TOUR (Ponte Vedra Beach, FL)

We presently have an opportunity for an Accounting Manager within Finance & Accounting. This position will manage general accounting areas for PGA TOUR, PGA TOUR Champions, Web.com, PGA TOUR LatinoAmerica, PGA TOUR Canada and PGA TOUR China, including related supporting departments and international offices.  The successful candidate will be able to perform account analysis, monthly closing journal entries, account reconciliations and general ledger entries within approved GAAP guidelines.   Primary area of responsibility will include supervision of 3 accountants.

Qualified candidates will have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited university is required; CPA candidate preferred
  • 7-10 years of accounting experience; 2+ years supervisory
  • Thorough knowledge of general accounting practices and procedures is required
  • Must be highly skilled in dealing with high volume of financial and numeric data
  • Must be highly skilled in the use of Excel
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Strong verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Event Accounting
  • Experience with Lawson/Infor is a plus
  • Experience with expense management software a plus
  • Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop 3 staff accountants and accounting associate
  • Ensure month end close for supervised areas is completed within specified time frames
  • Prepare monthly closing journal entries and review and release journal entries for subordinate staff
  • Prepare monthly departmental financial statements and provide variance explanations
  • Perform various account reconciliations and analysis
  • Review business area financial statements for subordinate staff
  • Work with business managers to understand variances and to create budgets and forecasts for assigned areas
  • Ensure assigned balance sheet accounts are reconciled and reviewed monthly
  • Assist with interim and year end audits
  • Special projects-other duties as assigned

  • Assist with annual budgets and periodic forecasts

This position will manage general accounting areas for the corporate entity of the PGA TOUR.  The successful candidate will be able to perform account analysis, monthly closing journal entries, account reconciliations, intercompany balancing and general ledger entries within approved GAAP guidelines.   Primary areas of responsibility will include supervision of accounting for headquarter operations to include but not limited to Human Resources, Facilities, Legal, Executive, Finance and Treasury support departments as well as perform accounting duties for CSI/DSI, PGA TOUR Travel and seven 501c3 entities.

Qualified candidates will have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required, CPA preferred
  • 7-10 years of accounting experience. Thorough knowledge of general accounting practices and procedures is required
  • 2+ years supervisory experience
  • Experience with Lawson or other ERP system with report writing experience is a plus
  • Must be willing to work overtime including nights and weekends upon request

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop a staff accountant and an accounting associate
  • Ensure month end close for supervised areas is completed within specified time frames
  • Review and release journal entries
  • Ensure assigned balance sheet accounts are reconciled and reviewed monthly
  • Reconcile Intercompany Balances monthly
  • Prepare monthly closing journal entries

  • Provide oversight to accounting activities of PGA TOUR Charities and other related 501c3 entities

Tax Accountant II - Finance & Administration - PGA TOUR (Ponte Vedra Beach, FL)

We presently have an opportunity for a Tax Accountant II in Finance & Administration.  The Tax Accountant will be responsible for preparing, or assisting with preparation of tax planning, research, and compliance for PGA TOUR, Inc. and related entities.  The PGA TOUR is a tax exempt business league and a parent to a for-profit consolidated group made up of 50 entities located throughout the United States, six different foreign office locations, four joint ventures, one large charitable organization, and ten smaller charitable organizations.    

Qualified candidates will have the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, CPA a plus, Master’s Degree preferred
  • One to two years of tax experience with a large public accounting firm with a focus on consolidated corporate tax groups and familiarity with international corporate tax and not-for-profit organizations
  • Strong verbal and written communication, and research skills required
  • Advanced level use of Thomsonreuters OneSource or GoSystem tax compliance software
  • Advance level of skill with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, macros, and formulas)
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Write is required
  • Proficient in RIA, BNA, and internet for tax research

Responsibilities:

  • Importing and manipulation of tax data into OneSource tax software
  • Preparation of excel worksheets, templates, and cvs files for data import     
  • Preparation of Foreign Bank Accounting Reporting                 
  • Preparation of various federal and state income tax return drafts (exempt, corporate, individual, and partnership)

We presently have an opportunity for a Tax Administrative Assistant in Finance & Administration.  The Tax Administrative Assistant will be responsible for performing administrative work, including organizing, filing, and exchanging information with the Sr. VP and other members of the tax department.  The PGA TOUR is a tax exempt business league and a parent to a for-profit consolidated group made up of 50 entities located throughout the United States, six different foreign office locations, four joint ventures, one large charitable organization, and ten smaller charitable organizations.    

Qualified candidates will have the following:

  • Two years of college course work (preferably in business or related field) or equivalent administrative support training required.
  • A minimum of two years secretarial or administrative support experience required, with experience in a public or private tax department a plus, but not required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Write and Internet Explorer.  Knowledge of tax-related software a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists SVP in implementing department activities, internal and external communications.
  • Scheduling conference calls and meetings for SVP.
  • Creating and updating tax department task lists of current projects.
  • Reads and routes incoming departmental mail.
  • Maintains up-to-date tax files, binders, library subscriptions, and fee engagements.
