Position Description
The Pro Coaching Course Educator plays a vital role within the coaching education system, responsible for imparting advanced coaching knowledge and skills to aspiring soccer coaches seeking to obtain the highest level of coaching certification. This role requires a deep understanding of soccer tactics, coaching methodologies, player development principles, sports science, and Leadership, and the ability to effectively communicate and demonstrate these concepts to coaches at the elite level.

Primary Responsibilities 
The Pro Coaching Course Educator will work closely with and report to the Director of Coaching Education. The person will be responsible for:
  • Curriculum Development: Develop and refine curriculum materials for the Pro coaching course, ensuring alignment with the latest trends and best practices in soccer coaching. This involves creating lesson plans, presentations, practical sessions, and assessments that cover a wide range of tactical, technical, physical, and psychological aspects of the game
  • Teaching and Facilitation: Deliver engaging and informative presentations, workshops, and practical training sessions to coach students enrolled in the Pro Coaching course. Utilize a variety of teaching methodologies, including workshops, group discussions, and on-field demonstrations, to effectively convey complex coaching concepts and strategies
  • Mentorship and Guidance: Provide individualized mentorship and guidance to coach students, offering constructive feedback, advice, and support to help them improve their coaching abilities and achieve success in their careers. Foster a positive and collaborative learning environment that encourages continuous growth and development among participants
  • Assessment: Assess the performance and progress of student coaches throughout the course. Evaluate coaching sessions, lesson plans, and written assignments to determine competency and readiness for certification
  • Collaborate with professional leagues to assess training needs and identify areas for skill enhancement
  • Design and deliver training programs, workshops, seminars, and other learning initiatives to address identified needs
  • Create and implement regulatory requirements and accreditation standards relevant to professional development and License renewal (Pro and A License) 
  • Continued Professional Development: Stay up-to-date on developments in soccer coaching methodologies, tactics, and technology through ongoing research, participation in coaching clinics and seminars, and networking with other coaching professionals. Continuously seek opportunities to enhance personal knowledge and skills to ensure the highest quality of teaching
  • Administrative Duties: Assist in the administrative tasks associated with the Pro Coaching Course, such as coordinating schedules, managing enrollment, maintaining records, and preparing reports for relevant governing bodies

Qualifications
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish)
  • U.S. Soccer Pro License or equivalent coaching certification
  • Extensive coaching experience at the professional level, preferably as a head coach or assistant coach
  • Proven track record of success in developing players and teams
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and motivate student coaches from diverse backgrounds
  • Demonstrated expertise in soccer tactics, training methodologies, sports science, player development, and leadership
  • Previous experience as a coaching educator is highly desirable
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous learning
  • Excellent organizational and administrative abilities
  • Proficiency in relevant technology and coaching software
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with stakeholders

This position plays a crucial role in shaping the future of soccer coaching by preparing coaches to excel at the highest levels of the game. The Pro Coaching Course Educator must possess a combination of technical expertise, teaching proficiency, and a passion for the sport to inspire and empower the next generation of professional coaches.
