Position Summary:

The Director of Partnership Sales works closely with the department Vice Presidents, SVP's, and entire AEG Global Partnerships structure/resources to generate and close sponsorship sales for music venues and festivals as assigned. This position is responsible for seeing a sponsorship sale through completion which includes developing pitches, negotiating deal points, addressing client concerns, and finding creative solutions to partner assigned properties with brands. The Director of Sponsorship Sales will effectively manage their sales efforts to set sales goals and ensure monthly, quarterly, and annual goals are met by employing various sales techniques, creating and maintaining new business relationships, and setting expectations.

Essential Functions:

  • Sell complex sponsorship assets that include media, experiential, and VIP hospitality packages to assigned event properties and locations.
  • Identify and cultivates brands/marketing executives within targeted accounts who make event marketing and media decisions.
  • Create and develops presentations for clients and potential clients. This includes developing creative concepts for pitches, utilizing various resources for execution. Occasionally management of a budget related to sales materials.
  • Address clients’ concerns, questions and objections to close sponsorship deals. Resolve deal discrepancies, works with legal team to draft deal terms.
  • Negotiate and re-negotiates sponsorship assets/deal points for renewal and long-standing sponsorship deals.
  • Keep sales management apprised of progress toward established revenue goals and of the progress in closing identified prospects. Uses department CRM system.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum education level of: Bachelor of Arts/Sciences Degree (4-year)   
  • Minimum 4-6 years in related work, experience working with venues and festivals is a plus.
  • Expertise in identifying opportunities, developing strategies and negotiating creative solutions.
  • Exemplary problem-solving, communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to synergize the efforts of individuals and teams from multiple AEG business units to accomplish the goals of the company.
  • Ability to work with leadership to effectively manage a sales team by motivating and supporting them to reach their sales goals.
  • Known throughout the industry for their poise and professionalism when interacting with internal and external contacts.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn required business systems.
  • Possess a strong sales acumen and knowledge of the music space.
  • Proven track record in building successful partnerships as well as consistently securing investments with FORTUNE 500 organizations.
  • Must have an established reputation and track record of success, gained with any combination of major brands or agencies.
