Chicago Fire Soccer In The Community – Little Sparks Coach

Chicago Fire Soccer In The Community are looking for enthusiastic coaches to join our growing team to coach Little Sparks (2-5 year olds) and Soccer School (6-16 year olds) programming throughout Chicagoland.

As a coach for Soccer In The Community, you will be expected to deliver a fun and engaging soccer experience, represent the Chicago Fire Soccer Club in a positive and professional manner, and promote current and future programs.

Little Sparks is available to children ages 2-5 year olds so therefore the expectation is that coaches are willing and able to keep the young children engaged while introducing them to the basic components of soccer.

Chicago Fire Soccer In The Community coaches have two main responsibilities;

·       Players – Implement the Little Sparks curriculum to the high standards expected of the Chicago Fire.

·       Parents – Be able to answer questions about current and future programs.

Payment is based on experience and coaching qualifications.

As a representative of the Chicago Fire Soccer Club, all coaches are expected to deliver quality, thorough sessions on the field, while being an ambassador for the Club off the field, within the community.

Chicago Fire Soccer In The Community – Summer Coaching Positions

Chicago Fire Soccer In The Community are looking for passionate coaches to join the team to work on the Club's camp programs across the Midwest, starting this summer. The length of the positions available range from 4 to 10 weeks, between June and August.

As a member of the Soccer In The Community coaching team, you will travel to and coach on weekly Chicago Fire Summer Camps across the Midwest, in Chicagoland, IL, WI, MI, IA, and IN.

Chicago Fire Summer Camp programs work with players of all ages and abilities, therefore the expectation is that coaches are willing and able to work with different levels of players, ages and are experienced in a variety of on/off field situations.

Chicago Fire Soccer In The Community coaches have three main responsibilities;

  • Players - Plan, deliver and review sessions which a focus on the development of each child. Creating a positive and enjoyable environment to allow players to express themselves is essential.
  • Coaches - Providing education and guidance to volunteer parent coaches to help engagement and retention. 
  • Clubs - Work with the host club to build long-term, sustainable soccer programs that benefit the local community.

Payment is based on experience and coaching qualifications.

Player Operations: Athletic Trainer/Physical Therapy/Doctor
Massage Therapist - Soccer Operations - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Bridgeview, IL)

Purpose:  To improve the overall treatment and care of our athletes and club by improving operational efficiency and creating greater personal attention. (Must have Professional or College Sport Experience.)

Massage:

  1. Create individualized soft tissue treatments utilizing a multitude of modalities for optimal performance, efficient recovery, and timely return from injury
  2. Effectively manage and communicate a constantly evolving massage schedule
  3. Clear and rapid communication regarding treatment findings with medical and technical staff
  4. Provide house calls when appropriate/necessary
  5. Maintain active involvement with daily medical staff meetings
  6. Stay current with research on soft tissue techniques and recovery modalities

Assist Sports Medicine Staff:

  1. Assist with treatment modalities when needed/appropriate
  2. Administer water, OTG, and/or electrolyte drinks during training and matches
  3. Prep the training room before halftime with hydration equipment, ice towels, heat packs, and anything else necessary for all home and away matches
  4. Locker room liaison for all needs during home and away matches

Assist Equipment staff:

  1. Load and unload bus for all away trips
  2. Day of game preparations on the field and in the locker room
  3. Daily training preparations on the field and in the locker room
  4. Stock/manage supplies

Assist fitness staff:

  1. Prep recovery shakes for post training and post match
  2. Prep post training nutrition
  3. Collaborate on optimal recovery strategies

Assist admin/operations staff

  1. Away game logistics for transportation, accommodation, and player needs
  2. Manage trialists (documentation, travel, housing, etc)
  3. Assist with new player acclimation
  4. Create and manage an all-time player database

Off season:

  1. Continue treatment with the players until they are fully dismissed?
  2. Continue treatment with the players actively involved in rehab and recovery/return to play strategies
  3. Continue treatment with the players that are still around the Chicago Area during the off season?
  4. Collaboration with the sports medicine staff and strength staff for injury prevention strategies, off season training program, recovery and nutrition?
  5. Planning along with the sports medicine staff for preseason proceedings in a multidisciplinary environment
  6. Continued education participation along with the sports medicine staff?
  7. Preparation as part of the sports medicine staff for the combine and the MLS medical symposium
  8. Front office wellness day (with the plan to schedule quarterly pending full time employment)

Description

Columbus Crew SC is seeking Camp Coaches for Camp programming in our Player Development Department. The Camp Coaching positions are considered independent contractors relationships and each person will have specific camps and training sessions to run around the Greater Columbus area.

The opportunities are based in Columbus, Ohio and report to the Camp Coordinator, Player Development. Please note this is a seasonal opportunity working with youth camps only. It does not involve working with professional players.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Run camp and training sessions for attendees as age-appropriate, including ages 3-14
  • Lead training programs and camps that focus on individual technique
  • Increase skill level of participants in an engaging and effective manner
  • Offer individual player feedback and coaching

Required skills, experience & abilities

  • Minimum of USSF “E” License
  • Minimum of 2 years’ soccer coaching experience, experience with camps preferred
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and must be legally eligible for employment in the United States (proof of eligibility will be required prior to beginning work)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population, including strong verbal communication skills. Second language a plus
  • Soccer playing experience at the high school level required. Playing experience at college or beyond preferred.

The Lead Coach will help run the Minnesota United FC Camps and training sessions around the Twin Cities metro.  This flexible, part time, seasonal position reports to the Director of Camps & Youth Development.Please note that this is a part time, seasonal position working with youth camps only.  It is not a position working with the professional players or the academy.

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for delivering coaching sessions at Player Development Programs at selected sites throughout the New England Region.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

YOUTH TRAININGS PROGRAMS INFORMATION:

The Red Bulls Training Program is a multi-layered system that provides professional support at all levels of the game. Each level of the player development pyramid has been structured to provide extensive support to players, coaches and youth soccer organizations. Within the local community, programs are offered for players of all ages and abilities. For players with outstanding ability, there is an opportunity to progress to the academy level and ultimately, to the Red Bulls First Team.

POSITION PURPOSE: (Position summary)

The primary responsibility of the Coach Education Manager of New Jersey is to provide daily training and education to Youth Training Programs coaching staff and Regional Coordinators, directly supervising performance and quality for over 75 staff. The role will involve mentoring the Regional Coordinators and assisting the Manager of Recruitment in year round youth coach recruitment events, staffing and on-boarding education. Additional responsibilities will include the development of curriculum content, management of external education relationships, player assessment/observation tools, online education platforms, training videos and social media outreach. The candidate will also work closely with the Regional Development Schools to ensure ongoing player development clarity and education suitable for the RDS programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Required to perform the job)

  • Direct education and management of coaching staff to ensure that the organization is represented effectively and consistently within the local youth soccer market.
  • Development of coaching staff and regional coordinators to ensure they are fully educated in the club’s curriculum, philosophy and methodology
  • Create an annual coach education training plan that provides coaching staff with required job knowledge. This includes all on field training sessions plus off field content such as the Red Bulls training philosophy, effective session planning, risk management, player welfare and club management strategies.
  • Proposing and executing procedures, programs and technologies that maximum effectiveness of coach education, player development and assessment tools.
  • Research and manage relationships with outside coach educators. Ongoing coach education training plans should include a wide range of guest presenter form various player development disciplines.
  • Coordination and deliver seasonal and orientations and weekly training events
  • Where required, create individual coach improvement programs to address shortfalls in staff performance.
  • Ongoing assessment and mentoring of youth coaching staff, this includes regular field assessments and educational support to help in the professional development of all coaching staff.
  • Resolve conflict and effectively and professionally implement company discipline policies.
  • Continued development of training programs technical guidelines and curriculum content to ensure it remains at the cutting edge of the youth soccer market.
  • Assist in the recruitment of all part-time coaching staff. This includes actively assessing non Red Bull staff in the community and effectively recruiting qualified staff to our programs.
  • Management of key player development partners.
  • Assist in the development of an annual operating budget.
  • Ability to contribute to the overall development of the Youth Training Programs infrastructure
  • Provide support and work closely with Regional Managers to ensure regional coaching staff are delivering coaching sessions in-line with the organizations player development philosophy.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferred in sports management field

  •  Required five (5) years comparable experience working within US youth soccer as a coach, coach educator and coach recruiter.
  • In-depth technical understanding of modern day player and coach development concepts and trends.
  • Leadership abilities and  strong desire to help educate coaches
  • The candidate must demonstrate a proven ability to manage, educate, assess and develop professional youth coaches.
  • Individual must be able to manage multiple roles, priorities and responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with all Microsoft word applications.
  • Excellent administrative skills
  • Strong communicator and proven ability to deliver training session to large audience
  • Excellent Writing Skills
  • Collaborative management style – advocate of team concepts
  • Must be able to work long hours, weekends and some holidays.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Required to perform the job)

       Ability to attend and be on time for all first team functions unless directed by the Head Athletic Trainer.

       Ability to withstand the physical demands of extensive hands-on care for professional athletes on a daily basis.

       Provide high quality soft tissue treatments to the satisfaction of the players and medical staff to promote recovery from injury and enhance recovery from the physical demands of soccer for the non-injured player.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:

POSITION SUMMARY:

Care and prevention of athletic injuries for New York Red Bulls’ reserve team.  This will include day-to-day coverage of practices and matches with travel responsibilities to all games.  This position will be expected to comply with all rules and regulations of the practice of Athletic Training in the State of New Jersey and maintain certification as an athletic trainer by the Board of Certification.  Other duties will be at the discretion of the NYRB’s Head Athletic Trainer and may include work as an athletic trainer for the First Team and Academy teams on a temporary basis as well as those duties necessary for proper function of the medical areas at the NYRB Arena and training facility.

Our group of athletic trainers is committed to working cooperatively through all the Club’s teams in trying to make the job duties equitable and to promote staff members’ growth professionally.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Required to perform the job)

       Evaluation, treatment, and prevention of athletic injuries and illnesses incurred by the New York Red Bull II players.

       Communicate with the Club’s medical doctors in a timely manner regarding injuries/illnesses when care exceeds the expertise of the athletic trainer.  In addition, coordinate player visits to the medical doctors and for medical testing deemed necessary by the medical doctors.

       Coordinate pre-season physical examinations for NYRB II players with necessary outside medical departments.

       Communicate player injury status to the team’s coaching staff in a timing and method useful for their daily preparations

       Work cooperatively with the other athletic training staff as well as the team massage therapist, chiropractor, podiatrist, and strength and conditioning staff to ensure players’ performance is optimized.

       Maintain current NJ licensure in athletic training and follow the rules and regulations set out in that statute, including appropriate medical documentation.

       Accept additional duties as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer, to include ordering, purchasing, training room maintenance and cleaning.  Each athletic training staff member will have these duties and they will be handed out equitably.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position requires a dynamic, self-motivated, organized, energetic individual with working experience in analytics at the collegiate, minor league and/or professional level in Soccer. The position focuses on the Red Bulls’ United Soccer League (USL) team, named NYRB II, although it also supports the first team in MLS and the Red Bulls’ Academy.  This is a full-time position.

Philadelphia Union Youth Head Coach (U8-U11) - Philadelphia Union Youth Development (Wayne, PA)

Union Youth Head Coaches are responsible for one of the Union Pre-Academy age groups (U8-U11) at YSC Sports, and for conducting Union Training Programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The primary goal for all Union Youth staff is to develop, prepare, and identify players for the Union Academy while implementing an environment that develops sustained love of the game for all participants.
  • Union Youth Head Coaches are responsible for coaching one of the U8-U11 age groups in accordance with Union Youth Development’s vision, values and philosophy.
  • Union Youth U9-U11 Head Coaches will conduct training three times weekly during the fall and spring, and twice in the winter (one of those nights featuring multisport activity). Teams will compete once on the weekend, participate in two tournaments, and participate in friendly competition versus MLS clubs and other regional teams.  The U8 age group will train twice weekly in the fall and spring.  The season extends 36 weeks.
  • Union Youth Head Coaches are responsible for executing the training program for their assigned Union Pre-Academy age group as advised by the Union Youth Director.
  • Union Youth Head Coaches will implement the curriculum and technical methodology program of the Philadelphia Union Youth for their age group as directed by the Union Youth Director, Academy Director, and/or the Philadelphia Union Sporting Director.
  • Union Youth Head coaches will empower the players to become a part of their own development program and to make decisions regarding it.
  • Report and discuss talent in the age category with the Union Scouting Department.
  • Union Youth Head Coaches will serve as Union Youth Scouts and identify talent for Philadelphia Union Youth via assignment by the Director of Talent Identification, or through Union Pre- Academy tryout or Talent I.D. sessions.
  • Manage and direct Union Youth coaches assigned to the corresponding age group of the Union Pre- Academy.
  • Attend scheduled meetings as requested by the Union Youth or Union Academy Directors.

PROVISIONS

Youth Soccer Camp Coach - Portland Timbers (Portland, OR)

Kick off your sports career with the Portland Timbers as Youth Soccer Camp Coach.

Selection for the Youth Soccer Camp Coach will be made based on applicable skills, experience and area(s) of education. Be sure to clearly demonstrate your skills, experience and area(s) of interest in your application.

Essential Functions/ Major Responsibilities:

• Come to camp prepared with well thought out station drills according to your coaching assignment (all drills are listed in the Camp Manual)

• Arrive 45 minutes before camp on the first day and 30 minutes early for the remainder of camp

• Assist Camp Director with check-in, check-out, and gear distribution 

• Set up your station before camp begins

• Assist the Camp Director with collecting the camp gear at the end of each camp day

• Engage with campers during your 30-45 minutes before camp

• Follow and support the Camp Director’s instructions and schedule throughout camp

• Assist Camp Director with bathroom, snack, and lunch breaks for campers – as assigned

• Be back to camp on time (by 1 PM) following your 1-hour lunchbreak

• Complete evaluations or certificates for each camper in your main group based on the age group you are assigned

Secondary Responsibilities:

• You may be asked to provide support to other departments within the Portland Timbers organization in regards to additional coaching opportunities/events

Requirements:

• Must be at least 16 years-old

• USSF “F” Coaching License – or better

• Must be available to work a minimum of 3 camps throughout the summer (June – August)

• Coaching staff must be comfortable working outdoors for extended periods of time

• Must be able to provide your own transportation to and from camps

SUMMARY:

Sounders FC Youth Camp coaches will provide coaching instruction to kids ages 3 – 18 who have registered to participate in Sounders FC Summer Camps.

Coaches will be required to follow and teach the specific curriculum as it pertains to each individual topic of the day. Coaches will be responsible for being educated on the Sounders FC Summer Camp coaching curriculum and have an ability to teach the curriculum to children in every age group.  Coaching education will be provided at mandatory and paid orientation days.

Youth Camp coaches are also responsible for the safety of the children at soccer camp. Each camp coach will be provided with a Sounders FC Coaching Handbook and is required to be up to date and familiar with all rules, regulations, and policies regarding child safety.

Coaches are to assist the site director of each camp location in the day to day operations of each camp site, that includes and is not limited to, setting up camp drills, sorting equipment, checking kids into camp, distributing awards, and handing out supplies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teaching the Curriculum
• Study and learn Sounders FC 2015 Summer Camp Curriculum
• Effectively carry out the lesson plans and teach the kids accordingly based on their age level

Safety
• Manage the kids at camp to keep them safe
• Keep an eye out for any dangerous opportunities at camp site
• Keep the children under control and behaving in a manner to avoid injury

Operations
• Assist site director in setting up camp and closing camp each day
• Help sign children in and out of soccer camp

Customer Relationships

Youth Camp Site Technical Director - Seattle Sounders FC (Seattle, WA)

JOB TITLE: Youth Camp Site Technical Director

DEPARTMENT: Soccer Programs

REPORTS TO: Director of Soccer Programs

STATUS: Part-time, hourly

SUMMARY:

Sounders FC Youth Camp Site Technical Director coaches will provide technical instruction and guidance to the camp coaches at the individual camp site they are supervising.


The Technical Director will ensure the staff coaches are following the camp curriculum and methodology as it pertains to each specific age group.  The Technical Director will provide on field coaching education to the camp staff coaches and assist with exercise implementation. 


The Technical Director will be responsible for announcing and explaining the technical and tactical topic each day at camp to the camp participants.  The Technical Director will also provide operational support at the camp regarding check-in and out procedures, daily giveaways, camp setup, item distribution, customer service to parents, and provide an additional line of safety for the camp.

The Technical Director will be asked at times to provide coaching for various age groups and programs throughout the summer time.  Technical Directors will provide feedback to the camp directors regarding coaching performances, camp operations, and player talent.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Implementation of Sounders FC Curriculum and Methodology
• Supervises camp site coaches and implements Sounders FC curriculum, methodology and system organization

• Coaching players in the u6 to u18 age range in accordance with Sounders curriculum and methodology

• Display a complete support of curriculum, methodology, and system organization at all times

• Ability to effectively carry out the curriculum and explain it to coaches


Operations
• Assist camp site manager with daily operations of camp
• Help sign children in and out of soccer camp

• Address the group on daily topic and activities


Customer Relationships
• Be cordial and respectful when dealing with parents, fellow coaches and camp participants
