Description:

YESsoccer, on behalf of Chicago Fire Soccer In The Community, are looking for enthusiastic,

certified part-time soccer coaches to deliver instruction on its Little Sparks (2-5 year olds) and

Soccer School (6-16 year olds) programs in the Chicagoland area. Programs take place during evenings and weekends.

 

Job Responsibilities:

·         Providing a fun and engaging environment that is optimal for children’s development in

·         the game of soccer

·         Represent the Chicago Fire Soccer Club in a positive and professional manner

·         Track attendance of participants at each program

·         Answer questions concerning current or future programs offered by Soccer In The

·         Community

·         Promotion of future and current programs

·         Attend all required coaches’ trainings and/or meetings

Qualifications:

·         Minimum of a USSF F License (for Little Sparks) and USSF E License (for Soccer Schools)

·         High School Diploma is required, Bachler’s degree from an accredited college university

·         preferred

·         High school or college playing experience preferred

·         Experience working with children is strongly preferred

·         Must have reliable transportation and a valid, clean driver’s license (some locations are

·         not accessible via public transportation)

·         Willingness to obtain further coaching qualifications

·         Background check will be required

Player Operations: Athletic Trainer/Physical Therapy/Doctor
Team Nutritionist - LA Galaxy (Carso, CA)

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Team Nutritionist for the LA Galaxy will manage the day-to-day administering of pre and post supplementation, meal plans and nutritional education of the athletes, development through 1st team. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Performs as a Performance Dietitian in managing the diet and nutrition of all athletes. Health care included but not limited to:

  • Diet consultations
  • On site pre and post recovery supplements following MLS and FIFA banned substances rules
  • Evaluate hydration daily and weekly of athletes
  • Develop excel spreadsheets that will monitor all data collected
  • Monitor and construct wellness sheets to weekly evaluate athletes
  • Report weekly to director of sports medicine on individual athletes issues pertaining to diet, nutrition, health and fatigue
  • Ensure compliancy with OSHA standards with regard to blood borne pathogens
  • Order, maintain, and inventory supplies and clinical equipment
  • Keep player lounge and clinic area safe, clean and organized
  • Maintain player diet records and submit computerized data per director of sports medicine
  • Provide expert opinion to medical and coaching staff on ways to improve health and recovery throughout the year
  • Supervise national interns/ associates throughout season
  • Demonstrate interpersonal skills required to work effectively with all LA Galaxy, LA Galaxy II and Academy players, coaches other team personnel and MLS staff
  • Counsel players in regard to dietary needs, nutritional supplements and League and FIFA banned substances
  • Oversee appropriate usage of Herbalife product, as well as other sports nutrition products/supplements.
  • Participate in Herbalife events as needed.

NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

In addition to performing the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by Supervisor.

  • On a limited basis, participate in community service/educational programs related to sports medicine
  • Participate in activities/meetings/programs as required by club director of sports medicine

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:

  • The successful candidate will possess strong verbal & written communication skills

Academy Goalkeeping Coach - New York Red Bulls (Harrison, NJ)

COMPANY INFORMATION:

The New York Red Bulls are one of 22 teams in Major League Soccer (MLS). They are one of the ten charter clubs of MLS, having competed in the league since its founding in 1996.   They currently play their home matches at Red Bull Arena (RBA) in Harrison, New Jersey. POSITION SUMMARY:

The Goalkeeper Coach will be responsible for working with goalkeepers within the academy and support the 1st team goalkeeper coach and Red Bulls 2 goalkeeper coach. This position will report to the Academy Director and First Team Goalkeeping Coach.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Required to perform the job)

       Support the development all academy goalkeepers

       Create specific development plans for all academy goalkeepers

       Create technical and tactical profiles of all academy goalkeepers

       Responsible for all goalkeeper academy team trainings and games

       Responsible for all Academy Goalkeepers

       Create a scouting network for all potential goalkeepers for the academy

       Link between Red Bulls first team, reserve team and academy

       Main link between New York Red Bulls and Red Bull Salzburg soccer clubs

       Create video analysis sessions for all academy goalkeepers
 

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities

       Minimum of five (5) years’ experience within coaching a professional sports organization.

       Minimum of five (5) years’ experience working within US youth soccer groups.

Philadelphia Union Academy Staff Coach (Zone 1) - Philadelphia Union Academy (Wayne, PA)

SUMMARY   

Philadelphia Union Academy Staff Coach is responsible for coaching Union youth programs at the behest of the Union Academy Director, with a focus on the Union Juniors Pre-Academy (U8-U11) program. Philadelphia Union Academy Staff Coach will work throughout the elite development platform of Philadelphia Union’s renowned youth program to supplement their Zone 1 responsibilities and to ensure integration of methodology. Additional responsibilities include coaching other Union Youth programs as directed by Academy Director, and program administration.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The primary goal for all Union Youth staff is to develop, prepare, and identify players for the Union Academy while implementing an environment that develops sustained love of the game for all participants

  • Philadelphia Union Academy Staff Coach is primarily responsible as a Head Coach of one of the Pre-Academy age groups (U8-U11) and in coaching additional Pre-Academy and Academy training sessions at the Union Academy Director’s discretion

  • Philadelphia Union Academy Staff Coach will help implement the Union Academy’s curriculum and technical methodology for the Pre-Academy training sessions and matches to ensure seamless integration for players into the Academy and throughout the Union’s developmental pyramid

  • This position will be assigned to coach additional Philadelphia Union Youth’s programs, such as training clinics and camps

  • Philadelphia Union Academy Staff Coach will support Union scouting through Pre-Academy I.D. sessions or related programs

  • Attend scheduled meetings as requested by the Union Youth or Union Academy Directors

  • Over the course of the Union Pre-Academy season, coaching and/or assisting with other Union programs as directed by the Philadelphia Union Academy Director and/or the Philadelphia Union Sporting Director

    REQUIREMENTS

  • Professional playing experience (strongly preferred)

  • Youth coaching experience and desire to grow as a coach and obtain top USSF licenses

  • Proven knowledge of the American soccer system

  • Proven knowledge of the requisite skills necessary for a player to progress to the pros

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills

  • Apparent passion for the sport and ability to share and impart a love of the game with young players

  • A readiness and desire to enter a professional club development environment with a focus on producing professional players

Head Athletic Trainer - Portland Timbers (Portland, OR)

The Head Athletic Trainer is responsible for the health and well-being of all Portland Timbers players. This position reports to the Head Coach and the President of Soccer/GM.



Responsibilities:

·         Treat all players appropriately and promptly

·         Actively collaborate with the performance staff, team physician, and coaching staff to plan, execute and monitor return to play protocols.

·         Comply with all MLS medical policies, protocol and game operations manual

·         Develop strong relationships with the Portland Timbers physicians and communicate with them regularly regarding players injuries

·         Enforce team and league rules applicable to the team’s players and/or coaching staff

·         Reviews and evaluates physician's referrals and athletes’ records to determine physical therapy treatment requirements

·         Performs athlete tests, measurements and evaluations and record findings to aid in developing and/or revising specifics of the treatment program or training program to augment performance

·         Instructs, motivates, and assists athletes to achieve individual and team goals

·         Screens all athletes utilizing FMS, SFMA and EXOS UQ/ LQ screening process to determine training level and safety

·         Appropriately supervises and directs ATC’s, interns, and students or support staff in providing athlete care and performance of their job responsibilities

·         Updates treatment plan and/or re-evaluates athletes as needed to ensure optimal outcome

·         Coordinate and record all medical appointments related to injuries with outside medical support staff, including but not limited to orthopedic and internal medicine doctors

·         Complete the necessary league and organizational paperwork when required. This includes liability-protecting waivers for all players, trialists, tryouts, etc.

Required Qualifications:

·         Minimum four (4) year college/university Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training or Health-Related Field

·         Master’s Degree in related health care field preferred

·         Minimum five (5) years certified athletic trainer experience in a sports environment, preferably with professional soccer or other professional team sports

·         NATABOC (or CATA) Certified Athletic Trainer; In good standing with NATABOC and a member of the NATA (or CATA)

·         Current professional CPR certification

·         FMS certification

·         SFMA certification

·         CSCS certification

·         State License in the state in which the team calls home, if required by the state

·         Possess personal professional liability insurance

·         Superb organizational skills

·         Strong communication skills

·         Prior Management of athletic training staff preferred

Physical Therapist - Portland Timbers (Portland, OR)

The Physical Therapist position is accountable for diagnosing, treating, and preventing injuries for the Portland Timbers players. Responsibilities:

·        Performs athlete tests, measurements and evaluations and records findings to aid in developing and/or revising specifics of the treatment program or training program to augment performance

·        Communicate effectively and regularly with performance coaches, head athletic trainer, head coach, and director of performance on a daily basis about athletes’ physical limitations, modifications, return to play protocols, timelines, and precautions to ensure safe and effective training at the highest level

·        Administers appropriate treatment as indicated

·        Instructs, motivates, and assists athletes to achieve individual and team goals

·        Screens all athletes utilizing FMS, SFMA and EXOS UQ/ LQ screening process to determine training level and safety

·        Utilizes screening information to develop prehabilitation protocol and further evaluation and interventions if needed

Required Qualifications:

·        Preferred master’s degree

·        Degree in Physical Therapy

·        Current CPR/First Aid certification

·        PT Licensure in state of practice

·        FMS certification

·        SFMA certification

·        CSCS certification

·        Background in soccer

Coach, Sporting Stripes - Sporting Kansas City (Kansas City, MO)

POSITION SUMMARY

Coaches for Sporting Stripes are responsible for expanding the early childhood soccer program by leading and assisting in sessions based on the Sporting Stripes curriculum.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Lead in cooperation with the overall strategy and philosophy of play for children ages two to five years old, typically in groups of 10 to 15 children per class.
  • Ensure proper instruction for children based on their specific program, such as Parent-Child Programs (ages 2-3), Beginner Programs (ages 3-4), and Advanced Programs (ages 4-5).
  • Lead and assist with 50-minute training sessions on Saturday mornings that are both fun and engaging.
  • Take a child-centered approach in coaching children how to enjoy the game of soccer at its earliest foundation.
  • Lead training activities including exercises, team tactics and individual training.
