Team Coordinator - Bethlehem Steel FC, Affiliate of Philadelphia Union (Chester, PA)

The Team Coordinator is primarily responsible for facilitating the daily support and administration needs of Bethlehem Steel FC.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administration of team operations and administrative requirements
  • Assist in preparation for preseason and in-season travel including flights, hotel accommodations, ground transportation and field acquisition
  • Assist with away team requests in home market including training locations and times, water, medical materials and facilitation of ticket requests
  • Assist in Matchday administration duties
  • Serve as operational liaison between the Front Office and players
  • Serve as specialist with relocation into home market including identifying and providing resources for accommodation, transportation among others
  • Coordinating with appropriate points of contact for player appearance scheduling
  • Coordinating relocation process including MLS paperwork and other administrative requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Business, Communications or related field preferred
  • 1-3 years’ experience in team administration, preferably professional or college level
  • Demonstrated familiarity with the professional soccer landscape
  • Able to work independently and with a team
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • Must be available some evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Able to travel when necessary

POSITION OVERVIEW:

New York City Football Club are looking to hire part time, qualified and experienced youth soccer coaches for the New York City Football Club Youth Programs. Coaches will be providing youth soccer training for players of different ages and playing abilities within camps, clinics, teams, clubs and leagues throughout the Tri-State Area.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

Provide youth soccer coaching and program administration for youth teams, clubs and in house camps and clinics

REQUIREMENTS/CHARACTERISTICS:

  • Coaching qualifications (USSF/NCSAA or foreign equivalent)

Senior Manager, Coach Recruitment and Education - New York Red Bulls (Harrison, NJ)

COMPANY INFORMATION:

YOUTH TRAININGS PROGRAMS INFORMATION:

The Red Bulls Training Program is a multi-layered system that provides professional support at all levels of the game. Each level of the player development pyramid has been structured to provide extensive support to players, coaches and youth soccer organizations. Within the local community, programs are offered for players of all ages and abilities. For players with outstanding ability, there is an opportunity to progress to the academy level and ultimately, to the Red Bulls First Team.

 

POSITION PURPOSE: (Position summary)

 

The primary responsibility of the Senior Manager of Recruitment and Education is directly supervise the recruitment and education team in the daily training and education of the youth training programs coaching staff. Overall responsibilities include the performance and quality of coaching staff on and off the field. The role manages coach recruitment, recruitment events and all coach operational logistics of coaching staff including risk management, policies, procedures, time-sheet management, budget management and coach education development. The Senior Manager of Recruitment and Education oversees the education team in conducting seasonal orientation events, daily training and education to Youth Training Programs coaching staff and directly supervise performance and quality. Additional responsibilities will include the development of curriculum content, player assessment tools, online education platforms, training videos and social media outreach.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Required to perform the job)

      Oversight and management of 180+ part-time coaches.

      Implement and ongoing management of part time coaching staff recruitment plan. Work with Recruitment Manager in the continual recruitment of all part-time coaching staff. This includes position marketing, recruitment events, job fairs, interviewing and set up of coach assessment events.

      Management of full-time employees including Coach Education Managers (x2) and Manager of Coach Recruitment.

      Manage in the development and cost balance of the Recruitment and Education operational budget. Invoice and check request management and approval processes.  

      Oversees and manages part-time staff hourly time-sheets submission to human resources and payroll specialist on a bi-weekly period.

      Education and management of full-time staff to ensure that the organization is represented effectively and consistently within the local youth soccer market.

      Development of coaching staff to ensure they are fully educated in the clubs curriculum, philosophy, methodology, Red Bull policies and procedures.  

      Manage staff to create an annual coach developer plan that provides coaching staff with required job knowledge. This includes all on field training sessions plus off field content such as the Red Bulls training philosophy, effective session planning, risk management, player welfare and club management strategies.

      Proposing and executing procedures, programs and technologies that maximum effectiveness of coach education, recruitment and retention, player development and assessment tools.

      Ongoing management of part time coaching staff ensuring they stay in line with Red Bull policies and procedures including but not limited to time off requests, availability and adhering to Red Bulls coaching philosophy

      Research and manage relationships with outside coach educators. Ongoing coach education training plan should include a wide range of guest presenter form various player development disciplines.

      Management and oversight of weekly meetings and seasonal orientation educational events  being delivered and coordinated to Red Bulls standards, philosophies, and methodologies.  

      Where required, manage team to create individual coach improvement programs to address shortfalls in staff performance.

      Ongoing management of assessment tracking and mentoring of youth coaching staff, this includes staff completing regular field assessments and educational support to help in the professional development of all coaching staff.

      Resolve conflict and effectively and professionally implement company discipline policies.

      Continued development of training programs technical guidelines and curriculum content to ensure it remains at the cutting edge of the youth soccer market.

      Oversight and management of key player development partners.

      Ability to contribute to the overall development of the Youth Training Programs infrastructure

      Provide support and work closely with Regional Training Programs Managers to ensure regional coaching staff are delivering coaching session in-line with the organizations player development philosophy.

EDUCATION

EXPERIENCE

 

                  Required five (5) years coaching experience within grassroots youth soccer

                  Preferred three (3) years youth soccer business management experience

                  In-depth technical understanding of modern day player and coach development concepts and trends.

                  Leadership abilities to manage full-time staff

POSITION SUMMARY

The New York Red Bulls Youth Training Programs are currently looking to add experienced coaches to our player development staff. Positions are available within the following areas:

·         Community programs

·         Travel programs

·         Regional Development School (RDS)

Part-time positions are available in both NJ and NY including Westchester, NYC and Long Island. Coaches are eligible to receive up to a maximum of $1000 for out of state travel relocation expenses.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Required to perform the job)

·         Required to be available five (5) afternoons/evenings per week plus weekends.

·         Required to be available Tuesday and Thursday mornings for staff training workshops

·         Working hours will be approximately 20 to 30 hours per week, over an eight to nine month period. A full availability coach typically works 6-7 days per week from March – November. This included coaching, administration duties and educational workshop attendance.

·         A coach’s working week is comprised of on field coaching hours, administration duties and attendance at mandatory staff training workshops in the spring and fall seasons. Both elements are paid at an hourly rate.

·         Employment typically begins mid to late March and runs through to late November or August and runs through to late November. The exact start and end dates are based upon the needs of each youth partner club.

·         Coaches who commit to a full availability employment contract also receive preferential assignments to double camp programs (30 hours per week) plus Residential camps. Additionally, coaches will also receive priority in scheduling of winter hours.

·         Coach is guaranteed a minimum of 180 coaching hours in the spring and fall season plus a minimum of one (1) 15 hour camp per week of the summer.

·         Coaches who commit to a full availability employment contract also receive preferential assignments to double camp programs (30 hours per week) plus Residential camps. Additionally, coaches will also receive priority in scheduling of winter hours.

·         Required to attend a mandatory paid pre-season orientation event

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

Candidates must also hold a valid driving license and have their own vehicle for transportation

Candidates must have a clean criminal record
Must have 3 years previous coaching experience
Hold a recognized coaching qualification
Be over the age of 18

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of a USSF D license (2015+ USSF E license) or NSCAA National Diploma

International licenses are accepted including but not limited to a minimum of a FA Level 1

Player Operations: Athletic Trainer/Physical Therapy/Doctor
Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach - San Jose Earthquakes (San Jose, CA)

Job Overview

The Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach will be responsible for managing the day-to-day strength and conditioning operations for the San Jose Earthquakes academy soccer teams and support the Head Strength and Conditioning coach with the first team.  The coach holding this position will be an integral part of the preparation of our athletes for Athletic performance. In this capacity, the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach will be in charge of design, implementation, and supervision of injury prevention strategies, workout oversight, and athlete management. This position must have excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills as well as the ability to collaborate and work well in a team setting. The Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach works under the direction and supervision of the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach, Head Athletic Trainer, and Technical Staff.

Licenses or Certifications

·                CSCS OR CSCC Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach

·                Member of and in good standing with NSCA

·                Current professional CPR  & AED certification

Educational Experience

·       Minimum four (4) year Bachelors Degree

·       Preferred Masters degree in Exercise Science or related field

Work Experience

·       Minimum of 2 years of experience in the field of Strength and Conditioning  

·       Strength and Conditioning Coach soccer experience preferred

·       Coached or previous experience working in youth sports

Club Development Program Coach (Multiple positions available) - Seattle Sounders FC (Seattle, WA)

JOB TITLE: Club Development Program Coach (Multiple positions available)

DEPARTMENT: Soccer Programs

REPORTS TO: Director of Soccer Programs

STATUS: Part-time, hourly.  Hours will average 15-20 per week and shall not to exceed 30 per week.

DURATION:  Approx. April – November each year

SUMMARY
The Sounders FC Youth Club Development program is designed to provide local clubs with curriculum and coaching support to improve grassroots soccer programming.  Club Development Coaches will represent Sounders FC in leading local club training sessions, providing technical instruction, and supporting parent volunteer coaches within these clubs.

The Club Development Coaches will learn, follow, and lead training sessions using Sounders FC designed curriculum.  Coaches will be working with a variety of age ranges (5 to 12) and abilities each week and will be responsible for delivering high quality, engaging training sessions.

The Club Development Coaches will be responsible for helping volunteer coaches understand and run training sessions.  Coaches will use techniques such as demonstration, presentation, and active observation to help develop the volunteer coaches’ ability to understand and deliver training sessions based on Sounders FC curriculum.

The Club Development Coaches will be supported by and will interface with a dedicated liaison from the club.  The liaison will provide support, direction, and feedback to ensure each Club Development Coach has a positive and high impact experience.

Club Development Coaches will also be key members of our Summer Camp programming.  During this time, these individuals will be tasked with coaching their own groups, training other coaches and/or providing logistical help to camp operations.


The Club Development Coaches will participate in weekly educational meetings, as well as have the opportunity to work at additional camps and clinics througout the year. Club Development Coaches are expected to spend two (2) or more hours a week outside of the coaching support preparing for the upcoming week’s focus.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Curriculum and Metholody Implementation

·        Deeply familiar with Sounders FC curriclum and methodology and display a complete support of curriculum, methodology, and system organization

·        Ability to effectively carry out the curriculum and explain it to volunteer coaches

·        Comfortable coaching a variety of ages at grassroots level

Club Development Program Relationships

·        Bring energy, excitement and fun to build a love of the sport of soccer.

·        Build positive and energizing working relationships with players, club volunteer coaches and parents.

·        Be cordial and respectful when dealing with teams, players, parents, coaches and club staff

·        Be a source of information within the club for key personnel

·        Uphold Sounders FC values and represent the club and brand in a positive way at all times

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

·        Professional/College playing experience preferred but not required

·        Premier level coaching experience preferred but not required

·        At least two years of coaching experience within soccer

·        USSF “D” license or NSCAA National Diploma highly preferred, however relevant playing or coaching experience may be suitable


QUALIFICATIONS

·        Must have strong leadership skills and as the ability to communicate effectively and clearly

·        Must have strong people and relationship building skills to connect with players, club coaches and parents

·        Must possess strong desire to grow soccer from a grassroots level

·        Must be extremely punctual

·        Must have in-depth knowledge of the game

·        95% of the work will be done in an outdoor environment

Coaches will be responsible for being educated on the Sounders FC Summer Camp coaching curriculum and have an ability to teach the curriculum to children in every age group.  Coaching education will be provided at mandatory and paid orientation days.

Youth Camp coaches are also responsible for the safety of the children at soccer camp. Each camp coach will be provided with a Sounders FC Coaching Handbook and is required to be up to date and familiar with all rules, regulations, and policies regarding child safety.

Coaches are to assist the site director of each camp location in the day to day operations of each camp site, that includes and is not limited to, setting up camp drills, sorting equipment, checking kids into camp, distributing awards, and handing out supplies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teaching the Curriculum
• Study and learn Sounders FC 2015 Summer Camp Curriculum
• Effectively carry out the lesson plans and teach the kids accordingly based on their age level

Safety
• Manage the kids at camp to keep them safe
• Keep an eye out for any dangerous opportunities at camp site
• Keep the children under control and behaving in a manner to avoid injury

Operations
• Assist site director in setting up camp and closing camp each day
• Help sign children in and out of soccer camp
• Organize equipment each day
• Hand out prizes and awards
• Keep kids under control while site director is addressing the group

Customer Relationships
• Be cordial and respectful when dealing with parents at camp
• Direct any and all complaints to the site director in a calm and respectful manner

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Premier level soccer playing experience required
• College playing experience preferred but not required
• Experience in childcare preferred but not required
• Minimum “E” Coaching License or equivalent preferred but not required

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must have strong leadership skills and ability to communicate effectively and clearly with children
• Must be very punctual
• Must have in-depth knowledge of the soccer so they can effectively teach it to beginners

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be able to effectively demonstrate soccer specific technical abilities
• Will be required to set up promotional material at youth camp locations
• Must be able to move and transport soccer various types of soccer equipment

• Must have or be willing to obtain CPR and First Aid Certificates

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• 95% of the work will be done in an outdoor environment
• Must be able to work a minimum of 18 hours a week
• Must be available to work a minimum of 6 weeks between June 16 and September 1
• Must be able to provide your own transportation to local camp locations
