Graphic Design Intern- Summer 2017 - Bethlehem Steel FC (USL Affiliate of Philadelphia Union) (Bethlehem, PA)

Graphic Design Intern will work within the Bethlehem Steel FC Marketing department in the creation of content for Bethlehem Steel FC. This designer is responsible for supporting and helping shape the development of concepts, designs and production of a variety of advertising projects (both traditional and non-traditional media) with a focus on brand development. This designer work closely with and also be responsible for producing graphics for other internal Bethlehem Steel FC departments, including Partnership Marketing and Ticketing.

Job Responsibilities:

·         Conceptualize and produce creative across multiple media and messaging platforms— i.e.. print, online, broadcast, social media, outdoor, logos, client presentations and more.

·         Understand brand and the importance of brand standards, and be able to apply such standards to all formats when necessary.

·Use Adobe Creative Cloud Design Suite to generate designs for use on social media, websites and printed materials

·         Work alongside the Marketing department under the supervision of Sr. Graphic Designer to ensure all graphics needs are met

·         Proof all materials in accurate manner, delivering high-quality, on-time and error-free drafts

·         Support other graphic design projects as requested.

·         All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Requirements:

·         Applicants MUST receive college credit for the internship

·         Accessible online portfolio

·         Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and knowledge of the print production process

Youth Development Internship - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Bridgeview, IL)

Youth Development Intern –  (May-August)

Expectations:  Is it your dream to work in the sports industry? If so an internship with the Chicago Fire Soccer Club can be the first mile of your marathon!  As an Intern with the Chicago Fire Soccer Club, you will aid the club in continuing to strive to be a premier club on and off the pitch, you will play a large role in the achievement of this goal by executing projects and by being a part of the day to day activities of the Club.  We are seeking interns that will take steps on their own to grow and hone their craft. As an Intern, you will be expected to give maximum effort every day you come to work. 

Responsibilities: 

Emerging Talent Program ID Camp

  • Issue invites to club and collate player acceptances;
  • Handle all communication and questions from club personnel and families
  • Devise and execute a touch point plan with visiting players;
  • Point person with Lake Forest Academy;
  • Point person for coaching staff, camp staff, guest speakers, college coaches and visiting teams;
  • Run check-in and collect paperwork;
  • Update social media outlets;
  • Ensure all rooms are set-up for off-field workshops;
  • Confirm player rankings with coaching staff.

Valspar Invitational

  • Assist with set-up of online tournament registration and software;
  • Manage the registration process and handle all questions related to the event;
  • Liaise with graphic design to create tournament collateral;
  • Work with communications and marketing departments to create and execute a detailed promotional plan;
  • Liaise with corporate partnerships to ensure all necessary requirements are being met regarding specific corporate partners and their event activation;
  • Work with tournament vendors to book rentals of necessary equipment;
  • Communicate with the hotel assignor on all tournament needs;
  • Communicate with the referee assignor to confirm specific requirements;
  • Lead all communication to club contacts regarding tournament collateral, scheduling and other event information;

Qualifications:

  • Must be eligible to receive course credit for Internship   
  • Students should be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Marketing, Business Administration, Sports management or any related field
  • Students should be well organized and demonstrate an ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision

Fan Experience Intern Summer 2017 (May-Sept) - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Bridgeview, IL)

Expectation: Chicago Fire is seeking a smart, service passionate individual who is interested in joining the Fire in the Fan Experience/Customer Service department as an intern. This department focuses on improving the overall gameday experience for our fans through building vendor relationships, tracking feedback and executing the Chicago Fire CHAMPS service and recognition program. This position will be expected to work some nights and weekends (about 20-25 hours a week), including 100% attendance for Chicago Fire home games. 

Instructions for candidates:

Event Operations Intern - Summer 2017 (Mid-May-August) - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Bridgeview, IL)

The Chicago Fire is looking for students who are interested in gaining experience in operations and how a professional soccer club operates. Students who are available from Mid-May through August are preferred. The Fire accepts a limited number of internships to ensure that interns gain valuable work experience. All Chicago Fire Internships are unpaid and must receive school credit.


Responsibilities: 

  • The primary responsibility is to provide event and game day assistance to gain experience in the Operations Department. This includes:
  • Credential preparation and management
  •  Pre-game preparation
  • Game day operation responsibilities which includes assistance in managing our pre-game festival area - Fire Fest
  • Grassroots marketing efforts
  • Coordination and interface with Fire players, coaches and mascots at community  appearances, autograph signings and events - must have professional demeanor
  • Front office maintenance projects, maintenance of company vehicles, facility upkeep, equipment storage and inventory
  • Occasional First Team operational needs
  • Interns will be expected to work select weekend and weeknight events along with ALL games. Game day duties may include working on promotions, customer service, stadium set-up and teardown. 
  • Candidates should be very comfortable performing physical labor duties on a daily basis. Previous experience in Event Operations is ideal and a strong leadership background is a plus.
  • Candidates available from Mid-May - August are preferred.

Graphic Designer Intern - Winter/Spring 2017 - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Bridgeview/Chicago, Il)

Expectations: The Intern Designer position for the Chicago Fire Soccer Club is responsible for any and all creative undertakings by the club across a variety of media including web, print, promotional items and stadium installation/environment. The intern will service all departments with any creative or design needs, from initial concepts to final production, execution and/or distribution. The Intern Designer is responsible for maintaining the visual integrity of the club as perceived by the market, and for strengthening brand presence within that market. He or she must demonstrate the ability to supply creative solutions on a daily basis to a variety of requested projects while remaining organized and on task. Internships are unpaid (except for $100/month transportation stipend) and available only to persons who will receive college or graduate level credit for their work. The Fire accepts a limited number of internships to ensure that interns gain valuable work experience.

Responsibilites:

  • Organize and manage multiple projects in various stages of progress
  • Formulate design concepts, presentations, templates, layouts, merchandise, installations and other collateral from initial idea to final execution
  • Create advertising campaigns that are followed across a variety of collateral
  • Develop understanding of target audience and market for specifically aimed marketing pieces
  • Present or pitch ideas, briefs, and concepts to various parties, in and out of house

Position Overview:

D.C. United seeks a highly motivated individual capable of assisting the Community Relations Department with coordinating and promoting community development efforts – including assisting with community programs, executing donation requests, managing the team’s fan mail, and more. Additionally, the intern will assist in organizing and executing fundraising initiatives that benefit the team’s charity partner.

This internship is designed for individuals working towards an undergraduate or graduate degree or who are seeking relevant job experience in their field of interest.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the facilitation, and execution of community relations programs, events and fundraisers.

  • Assist with writing for the CR website and CR social media accounts as it relates to community relations programs.

  • Assist in the fulfilment of community donation requests.

DC United Equipment Manager Internship 2017

DC United is seeking a highly motivated candidate to take on the role of Equipment Manager Intern for 2017 (May-August or longer).  The candidate will assist the Head and Assistant Equipment Manager with all team and technical staff equipment duties.  A candidate that is fluent in both English and Spanish is preferred, but not required.

Primary responsibilities (First Team):

            Efficiently control progression of training drills at first team training

            Manage, inventory, and account for all team equipment usage

            Setup and breakdown of training equipment and field

Distribution and laundering of all team training and game gear

            Packing of equipment for away games/travel

Education/Experience:

            College degree/in process in a related field preferred, but not required

Prior experience in the field of equipment management, whether professional or at the collegiate level, preferred, but not required

            Knowledge of soccer is preferred, but not required

Compensation and Hours:

            This is an unpaid internship

            There is compensation for all home games worked

            The candidate will need to be available to work nights and weekends

            There may be the possibility of travel to close/local games/practices

2017 Team Toyota Stadium - Game day Grounds crew - FC Dallas (Frisco, TX)

FC Dallas and Toyota stadium are looking for individuals to work on an as needed basis during the 2017 FC Dallas Soccer season.  The Game day Grounds  team will be responsible for the set-up and tear down of the field equipment  for events held at Toyota Stadium, mostly FC Dallas Home games.

Duties:

  • Perform all tasks involved in field preparation for FC Dallas and Toyota Stadium events. This includes lifting, carrying and placement of items for setting up the field to include goals, flags, field boards and other items.
  • Assist with placement of the Advocare banner at mid field before the game and during half time.
  • Practice safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.
  • Perform all tasks involved in breaking down after each event. 

Requirements:

  • Ability to work varying shifts, to include nights, weekends and holidays.  Each shift will range from 5-6 hours for FC Dallas games.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions to include extreme heat or cold.
  • Perform manual labor 
  • Ability to effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing in excess of 80 lbs with assistance from other members of the team.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and the public.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

2017 Summer Internship - GRAPHIC DESIGN - FC DALLAS, Major League Soccer & Toyota Stadium (Frisco, TX)

FC Dallas  of Major League Soccer and Toyota Stadium are looking for a student intern to work with the Graphic Design Team in the creation and design of print and online/digital content. We have created a unique hands on experience for students looking to gain experience in the Sports and Entertainment industry. We are looking for bright, passionate, hard-working students to be a part of our team through our internship program. 

Toyota stadium & Soccer Center is a first-of-its-kind facility located in Frisco, Texas. The complex features two major components: a 20,000 seat, state-of-the-art pro stadium immediately adjacent to a sports park with 17 championship-quality sports/soccer fields. Toyota Stadium and Soccer Center is in use over 300 days per year, showcasing a wide variety of local, regional, national and international events.  Toyota Stadium is the future home of the National Soccer Hall of Fame.

All internships for FC Dallas and Toyota Stadium are unpaid internships, and must be used to receive college credit from an accredited university. The internships allow the individual to gain valuable experience with a professional organization for their future in the sports, entertainment, marketing, and sales industries. Hours can be flexible to accommodate with your school or work schedule. Some nights and weekends will be required.

GRAPHIC DESIGN INTERN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and design flyers, posters and other collateral to support the Sales, Partnerships and Marketing departments
  • Assist the Marketing team with the creation and design of online/digital graphics to use on web and social media outlets
  • Assist the Creative Team in photography projects from player photo and video shoots to merchandise product shoots

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and/or Experience

  • Must be an active college student pursuing a degree in Advertising, Fine Arts, Graphic Design or a related field.

Language Skills

Technical Skills and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of Adobe After Effects is a plus

Description: The Red Bull New York Ticket Operations department is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Ticket Operations Intern. A strong work ethic, ability to work effectively with others and self-motivation are a few of the key characteristics required. Hours during the week and on game days are flexible. Assisting Ticket Operations & Sales in the following areas:

• Operations for ticketing at Red Bull Arena
• Distribution of tickets for the 2017 season, which includes season ticket packages, printing tickets, and group/individual ticket package mailing.
• Generating ticket sales reports, and managing customer databases.
• Attendance at all events in the Box Office at Red Bull Arena is strongly encouraged.
• Coordinating ticket pick-up at our will call window on game days and logistics for an entire game day staff.
• Opening and setting up the Box Office for pre-match activities.
• Working with our cutting-edge ticket management systems (Ticketmaster & Fortress GB).

Minimum Requirements:

The Youth Program Director Internship will provide support to the Portland Timbers Youth Department Programs. POSITION SUMMARY:


The Red Bull Arena Operations Department comprises of various duties for all events held at Red Bull Arena and others done by Red Bull New York. The goal of the Operations department is to provide students with exposure within a multi-use venue and professional sports organization. Our interns are given a great deal of responsibility while interacting with other RBNY departments.  This is an unpaid internship and the candidate must receive college credit for the experience.

Interns will be shadowing the operations staff, specifically, the events leading up to game days through post game duties as well as the day to day operations of Red Bull Arena and Red Bull Training Facility.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Required to perform the job)

        Aid in the daily and event operations of Red Bull Arena and Red Bull Training Facility.

       Coordinate with other departments to ensure successful event planning and execution.

       Assist in and around the office and practice facilities, performing various tasks.

       Weekday schedules are flexible, approx. 25-40 hours per week (more is possible due to events).

      Game day attendance will be strongly encouraged (commonly weekends and some nights with full day attendance).
