Corporate Partnerships Intern - Fall 2017(Sep-Dec) - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Bridgeview, IL)

Expectations: We are looking for a smart, driven and reliable individual to join our team as a Corporate Partnership intern in order to assist us in providing the highest level of service to all of our Partners.   As an Intern with the Chicago Fire Soccer Club, you will aid the club in continuing to strive to be a premier club on and off of the pitch, you will play a large role in the achievement of this goal by executing projects and by being a part of the day to day activities of the Club.  We are seeking interns that will take steps on their own to grow and hone their craft. As an Intern you will be expected to give maximum effort every day you come to work. 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Partnership Marketing Account Executives with delivering superior Activation:  coordinate/execute all partnership elements/assets for each assigned partner.  This includes but is not limited to (1) game-day activation and events at Toyota Park, and (2) non-game day events and promotions, including but not limited to clinics, tournaments, player appearances, special promotions, and sweepstakes execution, and (3) partner-related hospitality activities.  May require local travel and nontraditional hours.
  • Assist with Corporate Partnership department projects, including, but not limited to: pre-season action plans, post-season recaps, department events, premium item coordination, tracking social media promotions, organizing matchday and event photos.
  • Research activation concepts for partners as needed. 
  • Support Fire operations necessary to execute partner activation plans.
  • Regularly support Corporate Sales team with communications and ideas/solutions for assigned partners and future partners.
  • Regularly provide Research/Market Awareness to keep up-to-date with current partner news
  • Coordinate any sponsor-related projects as assigned by Director of Partnership Marketing or Vice President of Corporate Partnerships.

Qualifications:

  •  Must be eligible to receive course credit for Internship   
  • Students should be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university  in Marketing, Business Administration, Information technology, Communications, Sports management or any related field
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willingness to learn in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including but not limited to evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Strong computer proficiency – MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)

Finance & Administration Intern Fall 2017 - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Bridgeview, IL)

Responsibilities:

  • Assists with the accounts payable and accounts receivable process
  • Organizes and reviews invoices to ensure proper coding and approval
  • Maintain general ledger, accounts payable and financial filing systems
  • Balances the general ledger cash balances to the banking transactions on a daily basis
  • Assist in auditing various departments’ budgets to actual expenses

Event Operations Intern - Fall 2017 - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Bridgeview, IL)

The Chicago Fire is looking for students who are interested in gaining experience in operations and how a professional soccer club operates. Students who are available from January through May are preferred, hwoever those able to work from late August through October may apply. Candidates that can work through December are preferred.The Fire accepts a limited number of internships to ensure that interns gain valuable work experience. All Chicago Fire Internships are unpaid and must receive school credit.


Responsibilities: 

  • The primary responsibility is to provide event and game day assistance to gain experience in the Operations Department. This includes:
  • Credential preparation and management
  •  Pre-game preparation
  • Game day operation responsibilities which includes assistance in managing our pre-game festival area - Fire Fest
  • Grassroots marketing efforts
  • Coordination and interface with Fire players, coaches and mascots at community  appearances, autograph signings and events
  • Front office maintenance projects, maintenance of company vehicles, facility upkeep, equipment storage and inventory
  • Occasional First Team operational needs
  • Interns will be expected to work select weekend and weeknight events along with ALL games. Game day duties may include working on promotions, customer service, stadium set-up and teardown. 
  • Candidates should be very comfortable performing physical labor duties on a daily basis. Previous experience in Event Operations is ideal and a strong leadership background is a plus.
  • Candidates available from Jan - April are preferred; candidates available from Jan - May are  are strongly preferred.

Additional Duties: 

  • May be required to assist other departments with various projects
  • Inter-Department Training Program for Ticket Sales, Marketing, Communications and Corporate partnerships will be provided.

Qualifications:

  • Must be eligible to receive course credit for Internship   
  • Students should be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Graduate degree from an accredited university
  • Available for 4 weekdays per week
  • Students should be well organized and demonstrate an ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision

Fan Experience Intern Fall 2017 (Aug-Nov) - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Bridgeview, IL)

Expectation: Chicago Fire is seeking a smart, service passionate individual who is interested in joining the Fire in the Fan Experience/Customer Service department as an intern. This department focuses on improving the overall gameday experience for our fans through building vendor relationships, tracking feedback and executing the Chicago Fire CHAMPS service and recognition program. This position will be expected to work some nights and weekends (about 20-25 hours a week), including 100% attendance for Chicago Fire home games.

Video Production Intern - The PrivateBank Fire Pitch - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Chicago, IL)

The PrivateBank Fire Pitch is looking for a creative, hard working, individual who is interested in joining the Chicago Fire family. The Fire Pitch is the premier soccer-first facility in Chicago.

The Fire Pitch is located on the north-side of Chicago, just two miles west of Wrigley Field. The facility features two full-sized soccer fields, a state-of-the-art fitness center, bar/restaurant, events space, and an outdoor patio. The intern will work with full-time staff members to shoot/edit videos to promote all aspects of the facility through social media. Examples here. The intern will be expected to work some nights and weekends (15-25 hours/week).

Chicago Fire Rec Soccer (CFRS) is looking for a smart, service orientated, customer facing passionate individual who is interested in joining the Fire family.   • Assist the Sales & Service Team with various tasks.
  • Work with the sales representatives on group sales initiatives and lead generation research.
  • Game day duties include: group data collection and operational duties.
  • Attend Chicago Fire Matchdays and Events as needed
  • Assist on matchdays with groups, client interactions and youth experiences
  • Making outbound phone calls to Chicago Fire fans and prospects.

Graphic Designer Intern - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Bridgeview/Chicago, Il)

Expectations: The Intern Designer position for the Chicago Fire Soccer Club is responsible for any and all creative undertakings by the club across a variety of media including web, print, promotional items and stadium installation/environment. The intern will service all departments with any creative or design needs, from initial concepts to final production, execution and/or distribution. The Intern Designer is responsible for maintaining the visual integrity of the club as perceived by the market, and for strengthening brand presence within that market. He or she must demonstrate the ability to supply creative solutions on a daily basis to a variety of requested projects while remaining organized and on task.

Internships are unpaid (except for $100/month transportation stipend) and available only to persons who will receive college or graduate level credit for their work. The Fire accepts a limited number of internships to ensure that interns gain valuable work experience.

Responsibilites:

  • Organize and manage multiple projects in various stages of progress
  • Formulate design concepts, presentations, templates, layouts, merchandise, installations and other collateral from initial idea to final execution
  • Create advertising campaigns that are followed across a variety of collateral
  • Develop understanding of target audience and market for specifically aimed marketing pieces
  • Present or pitch ideas, briefs, and concepts to various parties, in and out of house
  • Prioritize and filter work load coming from all departments through a design request form system
  • Design advertisements, print materials, still digital imaging and web graphics
  • Meet all advertising and print deadlines
  • Contribute to the invention and implementation of marketing/communications initiatives

Requirements

Columbus Crew SC (Soccer Club) is the first club in Major League Soccer and in 2015, Crew SC was crowned MLS Eastern Conference Champions in the organization’s 20th season. Owned and operated by Precourt Sports Ventures (PSV), it won its first MLS Cup championship in 2008 and also won the 2002 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup as well as MLS Supporters’ Shield titles in 2004, 2008 and 2009. The 2016 campaign is the Black & Gold’s 18th season at historic MAPFRE Stadium -- the first soccer-specific stadium in the United States – where the club set single-season sellout records and hosted the 2015 MLS Cup. The club was purchased by PSV on July 29, 2013 as part of the privately held investment and management firm’s sports and entertainment business enterprise.

Description

Columbus Crew SC is seeking an Information Technology Intern to support Crew SC’s IT Department. The internship offers the opportunity to learn and develop skills in IT and also experience in a professional sports environment.

The IT Internship requires 15-20 hours per week and offers a balance between hours in the office and Matchday participation.  This internship has flexible hours to allow the opportunity to learn from experienced IT professionals while balancing a course schedule simultaneously. The internship reports directly to the IT Manager and is based at MAPFRE Stadium.

Opportunities & Responsibilities

  • Assist with Windows desktop support including practical experience in configuration, set-up and troubleshooting.
  • Assist in Windows Server management including Active Directory, File and print server, DNS and DHCP management
  • VMware server environment management including use of end user virtual desktops.
  • Assist in Cisco network and phone system management including experience with Cisco Unity.
  • Collaborate with IT Manager with end user support with Windows 7, 8, 10 and MAC OS as well as email set-up on mobile devices.
  • Participate in event management including set-up of additional connection points for vendors as well as Crew SC staff while monitoring connectivity needs throughout major MAPFRE Stadium events.
  • Researching new technology in order to improve infrastructure and productivity.
  • Special requests & reporting as needed.

Required skills, experience & abilities

  • Actively enrolled in a college, university or technical  program or recent graduate in IT or related field
  • Basic knowledge of CISCO switches, routers, wireless access points, andwireless LAN controllers.
  • Knowledge of both PC and Mac technologies.
  • Knowledge of Cloud Technologies.

Fall Season: Academy Operations Internship

The Academy Operations Internship  is a part time, seasonal position, working all D.C. United Academy matches during the Fall U.S. Soccer Developmental Academy Season. 
            The Event Operations staff will work closely with the Academy Director, Academy Manager and Coordinator in the logistical set-up and tear down of academy matches.  Candidates must be available to work flexible hours including evenings, weeekends, and holidays.  The Fall U.S. Soccer Developmental Academy season runs from  September  – December candidates must able to commit to the Fall Season for at least 90% of games.  All D.C. United internships are unpaid.

Specific tasks will include

  • Set-up break down for all Academy home matches

  • Attend Friday training sessions  to help prepare jerseys, vans, matchday items

  • Coordinate with full time staff members to ensure successful event set-up and execution

  • Adhere to a strict event timeline for matchday

  • Consistent season-long commitment is mandatory

  • Possible travel to away Academy matches

2017 Team Toyota Stadium - Game day Grounds crew - FC Dallas (Frisco, TX)

FC Dallas and Toyota stadium are looking for individuals to work on an as needed basis during the 2017 FC Dallas Soccer season.  The Game day Grounds  team will be responsible for the set-up and tear down of the field equipment  for events held at Toyota Stadium, mostly FC Dallas Home games.

Duties:

  • Perform all tasks involved in field preparation for FC Dallas and Toyota Stadium events. This includes lifting, carrying and placement of items for setting up the field to include goals, flags, field boards and other items.
  • Assist with placement of the Advocare banner at mid field before the game and during half time.
  • Practice safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.
  • Perform all tasks involved in breaking down after each event. 

Requirements:

  • Ability to work varying shifts, to include nights, weekends and holidays.  Each shift will range from 5-6 hours for FC Dallas games.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions to include extreme heat or cold.

Stadium and Complex Operations Internship: FC Dallas is seeking a Stadium Operations/Complex Operations intern who will work directly with the Stadium Operations and Complex Management Departments to assist with scheduling, organizing and coordinating of all events at Toyota Stadium and Soccer Center, with an emphasis on event day logistics. Event day logistics include locker room set-up, table and chair set-up, and pre-game operations. This internship is designed to give students an overall view of the daily operations of a Major League Soccer Stadium and Complex that is in use over 300 days a year.

Job Duties include:

  • Assist the Stadium Operations Department with game day operations to include set up, tear down and event management.
  • Assist with coordination among other departments to ensure that all day of game set-up, giveaways, signage, etc. are met effectively.
  • Help coordinate, plan, and oversee soccer events, concerts, tournaments & other special events at Toyota Stadium and Soccer Center.
  • Facilitate any visiting team’s needs; oversee all specific requests, working with various departments to facilitate those requests.
  • Facilitate requests made by front office staff, vendors, League officials and others as needed.
  • Developing timelines, itineraries, and checklists prior to events.
  • Assist with compliance in accreditation and parking for Staff and Volunteers.
  • Coordinate pre-game events on the field in accordance with MLS rules and regulations.
  • Resolve customer service issues or work with supervisors if unable to do so alone.
  • Observe complex fields to ensure safety procedures, security procedures and equipment usage procedures are followed.

2017 Fall Internship - SPORTS SCIENCE & ANALYTICS - FC Dallas, Toyota Stadium (Frisco, TX)

FC Dallas of Major League Soccer and Toyota Stadium are looking for a student intern to work with the Athletic Training team in sports science and analytics. We have created a unique hands on experience for students looking to gain experience in the Sports and Entertainment industry. We are looking for bright, passionate, hard-working students to be a part of our team through our internship program. 

Toyota stadium & Soccer Center is a first-of-its-kind facility located in Frisco, Texas. The complex features two major components: a 20,000 seat, state-of-the-art pro stadium immediately adjacent to a sports park with 17 championship-quality sports/soccer fields. Toyota Stadium and Soccer Center is in use over 300 days per year, showcasing a wide variety of local, regional, national and international events.

All internships for FC Dallas and Toyota Stadium are unpaid internships, and must be used to receive college credit from an accredited university. The internships allow the individual to gain valuable experience with a professional organization for their future in the sports, entertainment, marketing, and sales industries. Hours can be flexible to accommodate with your school or work schedule. Some nights and weekends will be required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Assist the Director of Sports Science with daily work office, administration, etc.

·         Administer sports science measurements, as well as perform multiple analyses

·         Maintain databases of past data look for historical data trends

·         Work with all FCD teams U-12 academy – U18 academy, as well as the professional team
