Graphic Design Intern- Summer 2017 - Bethlehem Steel FC (USL Affiliate of Philadelphia Union) (Bethlehem, PA)

Graphic Design Intern will work within the Bethlehem Steel FC Marketing department in the creation of content for Bethlehem Steel FC. This designer is responsible for supporting and helping shape the development of concepts, designs and production of a variety of advertising projects (both traditional and non-traditional media) with a focus on brand development. This designer work closely with and also be responsible for producing graphics for other internal Bethlehem Steel FC departments, including Partnership Marketing and Ticketing.

Job Responsibilities:

·         Conceptualize and produce creative across multiple media and messaging platforms— i.e.. print, online, broadcast, social media, outdoor, logos, client presentations and more.

·         Understand brand and the importance of brand standards, and be able to apply such standards to all formats when necessary.

·Use Adobe Creative Cloud Design Suite to generate designs for use on social media, websites and printed materials

·         Work alongside the Marketing department under the supervision of Sr. Graphic Designer to ensure all graphics needs are met

·         Proof all materials in accurate manner, delivering high-quality, on-time and error-free drafts

·         Support other graphic design projects as requested.

·         All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Requirements:

·         Applicants MUST receive college credit for the internship

·         Accessible online portfolio

·         Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and knowledge of the print production process

·         Strong interpersonal skills and ability to promote and sell concepts

Graphic Designer Intern - Winter/Spring 2017 - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Bridgeview/Chicago, Il)

Expectations: The Intern Designer position for the Chicago Fire Soccer Club is responsible for any and all creative undertakings by the club across a variety of media including web, print, promotional items and stadium installation/environment. The intern will service all departments with any creative or design needs, from initial concepts to final production, execution and/or distribution. The Intern Designer is responsible for maintaining the visual integrity of the club as perceived by the market, and for strengthening brand presence within that market. He or she must demonstrate the ability to supply creative solutions on a daily basis to a variety of requested projects while remaining organized and on task. Internships are unpaid (except for $100/month transportation stipend) and available only to persons who will receive college or graduate level credit for their work. The Fire accepts a limited number of internships to ensure that interns gain valuable work experience.

Responsibilites:

  • Organize and manage multiple projects in various stages of progress
  • Formulate design concepts, presentations, templates, layouts, merchandise, installations and other collateral from initial idea to final execution
  • Create advertising campaigns that are followed across a variety of collateral
  • Develop understanding of target audience and market for specifically aimed marketing pieces
  • Present or pitch ideas, briefs, and concepts to various parties, in and out of house
  • Prioritize and filter work load coming from all departments through a design request form system
  • Design advertisements, print materials, still digital imaging and web graphics
  • Meet all advertising and print deadlines
  • Contribute to the invention and implementation of marketing/communications initiatives

Requirements

Columbus Crew SC Overview

Columbus Crew SC (Soccer Club) is the first club in Major League Soccer and in 2015, Crew SC was crowned MLS Eastern Conference Champions in the organization’s 20th season. Owned and operated by Precourt Sports Ventures (PSV), it won its first MLS Cup championship in 2008 and also won the 2002 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup as well as MLS Supporters’ Shield titles in 2004, 2008 and 2009. The 2017 campaign is the Black & Gold’s 19th season at historic MAPFRE Stadium -- the first soccer-specific stadium in the United States – where the club set single-season sellout records and hosted the 2015 MLS Cup. The club was purchased by PSV on July 29, 2013 as part of the privately held investment and management firm’s sports and entertainment business enterprise.

Description

Columbus Crew SC is offering a Database and Analytics Internship designed to offer experience in reviewing and analyzing data within our Sales & Marketing Department.

The 2017 Database and Analytics Internship is available for students actively pursuing education and academic credit may be available. The internship requires approximately 15-20 hours per week at MAPFRE Stadium and collaborates closely with the Manager of CRM & Analytics.

Opportunities & Responsibilities

  • Assist the Sales department with lead generation and tracking
  • Gain experience with SalesForce including creation and execution of reports
  • Assist with email marketing efforts throughout the organization including weekly email marketing performance reports, audience analysis among others
  • Assist in support in the areas of email marketing, database marketing, database management, market research, website analytics and sales analytics
  • Support market research efforts through survey creation, analysis and presentation of findings

Required skills, experience & abilities

  • Undergraduate (junior or senior) or recent graduate with an emphasis in analytics or related field

2017 Team Toyota Stadium - Game day Grounds crew - FC Dallas (Frisco, TX)

FC Dallas and Toyota stadium are looking for individuals to work on an as needed basis during the 2017 FC Dallas Soccer season.  The Game day Grounds  team will be responsible for the set-up and tear down of the field equipment  for events held at Toyota Stadium, mostly FC Dallas Home games.

Duties:

  • Perform all tasks involved in field preparation for FC Dallas and Toyota Stadium events. This includes lifting, carrying and placement of items for setting up the field to include goals, flags, field boards and other items.
  • Assist with placement of the Advocare banner at mid field before the game and during half time.
  • Practice safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.
  • Perform all tasks involved in breaking down after each event. 

Requirements:

  • Ability to work varying shifts, to include nights, weekends and holidays.  Each shift will range from 5-6 hours for FC Dallas games.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions to include extreme heat or cold.
  • Perform manual labor 
  • Ability to effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing in excess of 80 lbs with assistance from other members of the team.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and the public.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to communicate effectively 
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and Interact with Fans to ensure they are enjoying their experience.
  • Ability to represent FC Dallas in a professional manner during events.

Toyota Stadium and Soccer Center is a first-of-its-kind facility located in Frisco, Texas. The complex features two major components: a 20,000 seat, state-of-the-art pro stadium immediately adjacent to a sports park with 17 championship-quality sports/soccer fields. Toyota Soccer Center is in use over 300 days per year, showcasing a wide variety of local, regional, national and international events.  Toyota Stadium is the future home of the National Soccer Hall of Fame.

All internships for FC Dallas and Toyota Stadium & Soccer Center are unpaid internships, and must be used to receive college credit from an accredited university. The internships allow the individual to gain valuable experience with a professional organization for their future in the sports, entertainment and marketing industry. Digital Media Production: FC Dallas and Toyota Stadium are looking for a Multimedia production intern to assist the Marketing department. The multimedia production intern with report to the Multimedia Services Manager and assist with the day to day objectives of the Marketing Department.

Job Duties:
• Assist in filming and editing video segments for in game presentation
• Assist in conducting player interviews as well as filming and editing online video segments
• Assist the marketing department on game days to coordinate and implement marketing endeavors such as half time entertainment, in game promotions and other related duties.
• Assist with the development of online video branding.

The ideal candidate will have:
• Excellent communication skills
• Dynamic and confident personality
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and simultaneous projects
• Strong video production skills that include digital video workflows with Canon DSLRs, Premier Pro, CS6, Final Cut Pro 7
• A understanding of Adobe After Effects CS6 is a plus but not a requirement

2017 Fall Internship TEAM ADMINISTRATION - FC Dallas, Major League Soccer & Toyota Stadium (Frisco, TX)

Team Administration: The purpose of this internship is to assist the Director of Soccer Operations & Equipment Managers with the daily duties involved with the Major League Soccer team FC Dallas and their U-18 & U-16 Academy Teams.

Duties:

  • Assisting with the logistics of team travel – Visa requests, team itineraries, per diem request and distribution, in-city transportation, follow-up communication with travel agents and hotels

  • Ensure all necessary & required equipment is available for all FCD Home and Away Games for the 1st Team, Reserves and Academy sides

  • Ensure that all MLS requirements & protocols are followed for all games that FCD Teams are involved

  • Assist the Equipment managers with ordering, inventorying, preparation, & distribution of all equipment for the FCD Professional & Academy Programs, coaches & staff.

  • Assist the Equipment managers in the necessary & timely preparation for all professional team practices (Field & Equipment)

  • Assisting with the set-up of daily team practice – daily distribution of practice gear for 28 players, 5 Coaches, 4 staff members and all guest players

  • Perform necessary & required Laundry duties pertinent to the Professional Program, Academy Teams, Coaches, & Staff needs (Gear, Uniforms, towels etc.)

  • Receiving, cataloging and distribution of all new incoming team gear. Preserving and cataloging all archived team gear.

  • All other duties as assigned


Requirements:

  • Must be an active college student

GRAPHIC DESIGN INTERN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and design flyers, posters and other collateral to support the Sales, Partnerships and Marketing departments
  • Assist the Marketing team with the creation and design of online/digital graphics to use on web and social media outlets
  • Assist the Creative Team in photography projects from player photo and video shoots to merchandise product shoots

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and/or Experience

  • Must be an active college student pursuing a degree in Advertising, Fine Arts, Graphic Design or a related field.

Language Skills

Technical Skills and Abilities

FC Dallas and Toyota Stadium have created a unique hands on experience for students looking to gain Marketing experience in the Sports and Entertainment industry. 

We are looking for bright, passionate, hard-working students to be a part of our team through our internship program.

Toyota Stadium and Soccer Center is a first-of-its-kind facility located in Frisco, Texas. The complex features two major components: a 20,000 seat, state-of-the-art pro stadium immediately adjacent to a sports park with 17 championship-quality sports/soccer fields. Toyota Soccer Center is in use over 300 days per year, showcasing a wide variety of local, regional, national and international events.  Toyota Stadium is the future home of the National Soccer Hall of Fame.

All internships for FC Dallas and Toyota Stadium & Soccer Center are unpaid internships, and must be used to receive college credit from an accredited university. The internships allow the individual to gain valuable experience with a professional organization for their future in the sports, entertainment and marketing industry. Hours can be flexible to accommodate with your school or work schedule. Some nights and weekends will be required.

Marketing: FC Dallas and Toyota Stadium are looking for a marketing intern to assist the Marketing department. The marketing intern will report to the Marketing Manager and assist with the day to day objectives of the Marketing department.

Job Duties to include but not limited to:
• Assist in the implementation of marketing goals and objectives
• Assist with grassroots marketing efforts in events, promotions, client entertainment and other activities as required.
• Assist the marketing department on game-days to coordinate and implement marketing endeavors such as half time entertainment, in game promotions and other related duties
• Assist with the development and implementation of social media and e-marketing initiavites.

We are looking for bright, passionate, hard-working students to be a part of our team through our internship program.

Toyota Stadium and Soccer Center is a first-of-its-kind facility located in Frisco, Texas. The complex features two major components: a state-of-the-art pro stadium immediately adjacent to a sports park with 17 championship-quality sports/soccer fields. Toyota Soccer Center is in use over 350 days per year, showcasing a wide variety of local, regional, national and international events.  Toyota Stadium is the future home of the National Soccer Hall of Fame.

Internships are unpaid, and must be used to receive college credit from an accredited university. The internship allows you to gain valuable experience with a professional organization for a future in the sports, entertainment and marketing industries. Hours can be flexible to accommodate school or work schedules. Rotating evenings and weekends will be required.

 Partnership Marketing Position: Partnership Marketing Intern. The Partnership Marketing Intern will report to the Partnership Marketing Account Manager and assist with the day to day objectives of the department.

Job Duties to include but not limited to:

·         Assist in the implementation of Partnership Marketing goals and objectives

·         Assist the department during FC Dallas home games to coordinate and implement Partnership Marketing endeavors such as pregame concourse activation, half time entertainment, in-game promotions, photography, and other related duties

·         Assist with capturing key in-game sponsorship moments and compiling proof of asset fulfillment for Partnership Marketing team to access post-game

·         Assist with grassroots initiative fulfillment for FC Dallas Soccer Tour participation and set-up with the FC Dallas Activation Specialist (including inflatable, tent, etc.)

·         Assist with the organizing, planning and execution of FC Dallas Community Clinics

·         Maintain comprehensive communication with the Partnership Marketing Manager

·         Gain awareness of the internal and externally-facing functionality of the Partnership Marketing Department

·         Understand the value of leveraging a sports sponsorship and how it can provide bottom-line ROI results and promote brand equity

Ticket Operations - The FC Dallas Ticket Operations Internship was designed to give college students the opportunity to develop valuable skills and gain firsthand experience in the professional sports industry. During the Internship program, participants will be supervised by the Ticket Operations Director and Box Office Manager for FC Dallas and Toyota Stadium. The intern will learn all aspects of the coordination and administration of Ticket Operations, Box Office, and Game Day Operations. This internship is designed for college students who are interested in pursuing a ticket operations career in the sports industry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with daily correspondence to FC Dallas and Toyota Stadium guests
  • Assisting in any ticketed concerts, special events, and promotions held at Toyota Stadium
  • Assisting in order processing and fulfillment of all FC Dallas and Toyota Stadium Events
  • Administrative office duties including filing, organizing, data entry and mailing
  • Assisting in planning and implementing special marketing events and promotions
  • Working closely with fan relations and sales staff to fulfill orders
  • Assisting with ticket sales activities and events
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Background in sales, marketing, business, customer service or communications is encouraged
  • Strong communication skills; both verbal and written
  • Detail oriented and enthusiastic about working within a sport-related environment
  • Creative and outgoing self-starter
  • Must be an active college student

Stadium and Complex Operations Internship: FC Dallas is seeking a Stadium Operations/Complex Operations intern who will work directly with the Stadium Operations and Complex Management Departments to assist with scheduling, organizing and coordinating of all events at Toyota Stadium and Soccer Center, with an emphasis on event day logistics. Event day logistics include locker room set-up, table and chair set-up, and pre-game operations. This internship is designed to give students an overall view of the daily operations of a Major League Soccer Stadium and Complex that is in use over 300 days a year.

Job Duties include:

  • Assist the Stadium Operations Department with game day operations to include set up, tear down and event management.
  • Assist with coordination among other departments to ensure that all day of game set-up, giveaways, signage, etc. are met effectively.
  • Help coordinate, plan, and oversee soccer events, concerts, tournaments & other special events at Toyota Stadium and Soccer Center.
  • Facilitate any visiting team’s needs; oversee all specific requests, working with various departments to facilitate those requests.
  • Facilitate requests made by front office staff, vendors, League officials and others as needed.
  • Developing timelines, itineraries, and checklists prior to events.
  • Assist with compliance in accreditation and parking for Staff and Volunteers.
  • Coordinate pre-game events on the field in accordance with MLS rules and regulations.
  • Resolve customer service issues or work with supervisors if unable to do so alone.
  • Observe complex fields to ensure safety procedures, security procedures and equipment usage procedures are followed.
  • Update & maintain schedules for staff, complex and field usage
  • Develop and maintain all proper documentation & files for events
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills:

  • Must be detail-orientated with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a timely and professional manner.
  • Knowledge about the sport of Soccer.
  • Provide helpful and courteous customer service to all vendors and guests and have the ability to problem solve as needed.
  • Proficiency with all Microsoft word and excel applications

The HR department for FC Dallas and FC Dallas Stadium is looking for a dependable, well organized and trustworthy intern. The HR intern will play a supportive role to the Human Resources department for the soccer club and stadium, and will receive exposure to all facets of the Human Resources Department in a Generalist Capacity. All internships with FC Dallas and Frisco Stadium are unpaid and must be used to receive college credit.

Job Duties to include:

  • Assisting with and coordinates recruitment efforts, which may include attending job fairs, posting jobs externally and creating recruiting collateral. 
  • Administrative duties including but not limited to filing, scanning documents, special projects and data entry
  • Conducting pre-screening interviews for applicants and maintaining applicant  flow log
  • Source on-line applications
  • Assist with the set up of orientation for new interns or new employees 
  • Coordinating and assisting with team building and employee activities

• Assist in coverage of FCD Reserve Team and FCD Youth System / games at Toyota Stadium

Job Description

Minnesota United FC has created a hands-on learning experience for students and recent graduates looking to gain an understanding of a MLS Academy.  The MNUFC Academy Internship offers unpaid, part-time positions (15-20 hours per week) in various facets of the Academy. This role provides a unique educational experience and a behind-the-scenes look into various elements associated with the Academy program. POSITION OVERVIEW:

Position Summary: The Performance Nutrition Intern will work closely with the Team Performance Nutritionist and Kitchen Coordinator in performing a variety of tasks supporting the MLS, NWSL, USL and Pro Academy teams, as assigned. This person will provide dedicated support on the day-to-day nutrition duties and work as an integral part of the nutrition program; fueling and hydrating our players on training days and game days. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing, purchasing, and stocking food/supplies and supplements for the meal room/kitchen, locker room, and game day.
  • Assist with breakfast and lunch meals (prep, serve, clean up) per team meals.
  • Monitor meals for quality control and menu adherence.
  • Maintain equipment, including warming units, blenders, refrigerators and microwaves.
  • Assist with individual daily nutrition plans; Pre, during and post-workout nutrition prescriptions determined by Team Performance Nutritionist.
  • Assist with hydration and body composition testing, as needed per Team Performance Nutritionist or Performance Staff.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Team Performance Nutritionist and Kitchen Coordinator.

Qualifications:

This person will work under the direction of the Graphic Design team, and will have the opportunity to learn how to design and produce marketing collateral for the Club. Concluding this internship this person will know how to design, prepare and present marketing collateral, within the marketing department for a professional sports team. YOU MUST BE ABLE TO RECEIVE ACADEMIC CREDIT FOR THIS INTERNSHIP.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with design of ticket collateral (single tickets, season tickets, season ticket holder books).
  • Work with design team on producing advertising material (print, out-of-home, etc.).
  • Assist with creation of interactive design (website design, Facebook images/tab design, etc.) for Orlando City, Orlando Pride, OCB and youth properties.
  • Assist with corporate sales fulfillment (when necessary) and collateral.

Gameday Communications Internship (2017) - Orlando City Soccer Club (Orlando, FL)

Background: After winning three USL-Pro regular season championships and two postseason titles over a four-year span, Orlando City SC quickly set the standard for professional soccer clubs both on and off the field and was awarded the 21st Major League Soccer (MLS) franchise on Nov. 19, 2013. The Lions played their first two seasons in MLS at the Orlando Citrus Bowl, where they held the second-highest average attendance in MLS. In 2016, the Club launched Orlando Pride in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) and Orlando City B in the United Soccer League (USL).

In March 2017, Orlando City SC unveiled its brand new, privately financed downtown stadium. Position Summary: Orlando City SC is seeking part-time communications interns to support the
Communications Department with its match day duties for Orlando City SC, Orlando Pride and Orlando City
B. The Communications interns play a role in all game day activities, including: media credentialing, press
conference transcripts and other match day press functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Match day interns are integral to game day media operations. Interns will gain valuable, first-hand
experience and training in communications duties, including:

  • Media credentialing and check-in.
  • Setup and management of media work room and press box.
  • Post-game press conference operations and drafting transcripts.
  • Statistics distribution, in-game and post-game.
  • On-field field marshaling and media liaison.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Applicants should be working toward an undergraduate or graduate degree with an emphasis in journalism, communications or related field. Candidates receiving credit for participating in our internship program are preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office. Knowledge of Adobe products (InDesign, Photoshop) a plus.
  • Knowledge of global soccer, Major League Soccer and the National Women’s Soccer League is preferred.
  • Maintain highest level of professionalism within a pro team environment and in media work zones.
  • High attention to detail and organization.
  • Possess an outgoing, engaging and professional personality.
  • Ability to work weekends and support most Orlando City, Orlando Pride and Orlando City B home games. Schedules will be provided monthly to all game day interns.

Game Operations Intern (Summer 2017) - Philadelphia Union (Chester, PA)

This intern will be responsible for assisting the front office in day-to-day operations.  Internships with the Philadelphia Union will provide qualified interns with an assortment of valuable learning experiences and exposure to all facets of a professional soccer team’s front office.

Interns will be asked to work some nights and weekends.  Applicants should be familiar with Microsoft Office and possess excellent written and oral communication skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Communicate, coordinate and stall all game day volunteers
  • Develop game day staff list
  • Create all game day volunteer paperwork, including credentials, post orders, brief sheets
  • Track and record attendance of all volunteers
  • Assist with pre-game operations documents
  • Manage the set-up, and clean-up of supplies for in stadium game operations
  • Assist with in-office tasks when asked from time to time
  • Work all home Philadelphia Union games
  • Assist with grassroots and promotional marketing events. 

*This is an unpaid, academic internship.  Must be pursuing an undergraduate/graduate degree*

Paid Seasonal Internship-Youth Camp- Intern - Portland Timbers (Portland, OR)

Kick off your sports career with the Portland Timbers.
As an intern with the Portland Timbers you will have the distinct opportunity to be part of our 2017 MLS Season.

Selection for an internship will be made based on applicable skills, experience and area(s) of education. Be sure to clearly demonstrate your skills, experience and area(s) of interest in your application. Duration of internships will be based on performance and/or business needs.

Essential Functions/ Major Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a marketing strategy for your assigned camps
  • Organize and compile camp equipment for all upcoming camps
  • Arrive 45 minutes before each camp begins to set up tent, table, signage, and water cooler
  • Event management – Direct assigned camps: ensure that each camp runs smoothly, stays on schedule, and monitor/assist coaching staff on-site
  • Establish relationships within other departments – plan at least three networking meetings
  • Ability and willingness to assist with other Youth Department events
  • Evaluate, rate, and provide constructive criticism on coaching staff, and Youth Camp Program
  • Develop and prepare a final presentation – propose a new Timbers Youth Camp
