The Role
This role is responsible for expanding and enhancing the sport of tennis across parks and public facilities.
  • Manage a comprehensive Park Program that integrates technology, programming, coaching, sales, and infrastructure in order to retain tennis play in parks.  
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders including Sectional Associations, to assess community interests, identify programming needs, and develop innovative approaches to expand tennis offerings in parks. 
  • Guided by data and research, identify and implement other strategies to help promote and track tennis play in parks and public facilities.    
  • Serve as a “connector” by helping to leverage the USTA’s internal assets and expertise to help retain courts and drive play and programming within parks.    
  • Build and foster influential relationships with key organizations associated with parks and public facilities (such as NRPA) in order to help support the sport of tennis.
  • Manage budgets and resources to support the USTA Park Program.
  • Work across the Association to develop and engage a broad base of Park and community support to advance the organization’s strategic priorities.
  • Develop key relationships and collaborations across sport and community groups and represent the Association in key coalition and partnership meetings as appropriate.
 
Who You Are
  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience.
    • Previous Parks experience is required
    • Previous racquet sports experience is preferred
  • Strong interest in the USTA’s mission, with the ability to serve as a strong, compelling ambassador for the USTA.
  • Experience as a team manager and demonstrated managerial skills with an ability to work cross functionally.
  • Database management skills with contemporary relational databases, including configuration, reporting, and dashboards.
  • Exceptional time and project management skills, and high attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects effectively.  
  • Highly collaborative with a “team” mentality.  
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and working through competing priorities.
  • Position is considered exempt.
  • Position is designated as "hybrid/flex" in Orlando at our USTA National Campus and may allow for both remote and on-site work. Any such position must meet the current USTA hybrid/flex requirements as updated from time to time. Please consult HR for the most current policy.
    • This role requires approximately 30-40% travel to support all USTA sections, cross-country .

The expected range for the base salary for this position is $75,000 - $90,000. 
This range does not include any additional pay or benefits for which a person may qualify.  The actual base salary offered is determined by several variables, including, as appropriate, the applicant's qualifications for the position, the years of relevant experience, their unique skills, and the location from which they will be performing the job.
