Overview

A front of house server is the face of a restaurant, responsible for providing excellent customer service and ensuring a positive dining experience for guests. They take orders, serve food and beverages, and address any customer inquiries or concerns promptly and courteously. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

 

This role will pay a daily wage of $300.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly upon arrival and escort them to their tables.
  • Present menus, provide recommendations, and take accurate food and beverage orders.
  • Relay orders to the kitchen and bar staff and ensure timely delivery of meals and drinks.
  • Check back with guests to ensure satisfaction with their meals and address any concerns.
  • Monitor and anticipate guests' needs, such as refilling drinks or providing additional condiments.
  • Process payments accurately and efficiently using POS systems.
  • Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth service flow and resolve any issues.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, including clearing tables and resetting them for new guests.
  • Assist in opening and closing duties, such as setting up tables, restocking supplies, and cleaning.
  • Uphold restaurant policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations and service standards.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a server or in customer service roles preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests and team members.
  • Strong multitasking abilities and the capacity to work efficiently in a high-pressure environment.
  • Knowledge of menu items, including ingredients and preparation methods, to provide accurate information and recommendations to guests.
  • Ability to handle cash and process payments accurately.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the restaurant's schedule.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to go above and beyond to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift trays or other items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Familiarity with POS systems and basic computer skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in hospitality is a plus.
