Overview
The Figure Skating Manager will manage every aspect of their assigned programs from the advance planning stages through the end of the event; hire, train, schedule and supervise related staff to ensure events run smoothly; coordinate communication between event staff/security and delegate assignments; be responsible for and ensure overall customer satisfaction and experience.
This position requires a leader that develops an innovative skate academy and figure skating program at the new Iceplex. This role requires a hard-working detail-oriented individual that is exceptional at communicating across departments. This is a Part Time Non - Exempt Role and is paid hourly between $30 and $32 per hour. In addition to an Additional Incentive Plan.

Responsibilities
Duties/ Responsibilities:
- Develop, and supervises all USFS Skate Academy group lesson program for the public.
- Develop, supervises, and instructs skating events, seminars, courses, and training sessions.
- Develop, implement, administer, and program all skating and figure skating camps, clinics, and recitals.
- Collaborate with Hockey Manager for scheduling Skate Academy, Adult Leagues, Learn to Play, and Youth Recreation Leagues
- Liaison between Learn to Skate USA and Management
- Management of part-time skating coaches
- Liaison between Figure Skating Club and Management
- Assist in building Iceplex youth and adult marketing database to support the programs of skating and hockey
- Promoter of Iceplex youth branding in schools, businesses, events, and throughout the community
- Management and oversight of Iceplex’s figure skating budget
- Provide building support, as necessary, as manager on duty
- Promote a culture of professionalism and respect while supporting skaters in their development and success.
Qualifications
Required Skills/ Experience:
- 3+ years’ experience actively directing skating programs
- Extensive skating and coaching background with understanding of a Learn to Skate Programing.
- Experience designing and managing program operations for skating instruction: including managing professional staff.
- Experience growing new ice programs and marketing to the community.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational and management skills
- A love of skating and of working with young children, teens, and adults
- Extremely organized and detail oriented, resourceful, quick learner and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- A high degree of personal integrity and consistently puts the interests of the organization first.
- Must be a clear communicator and cross-organizational collaborator.
- Full USFS Coach Compliance (Including: USFS Membership, USFS Background check, SafeSport training, Code of Ethics, CERs, Liability Insurance, PSA Membership),
Preferred Experience & Qualifications:
- Experience having established a Learn to Skate USA Program
- Understanding of on-ice programing, hockey, and off ice training
- Delivery of top-line revenue and execution of a business plan
- PSA Program Director rating
- Rinks Skating Director Certification
Working Conditions:
- Minimal Travel (<10% travel): May be required to travel. Trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay away from home for one or more nights.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule inclusive of weekends, nights and holidays required
- Frequent bending, lifting 15-20 pounds, sitting, exposure to multiple external elements, extensive walking through the building including inclines and stairs.
