This role will contribute to maintaining strong institutional controls for the University of Arizona and supporting our mission of holistic student-athlete development.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Examples of job duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Contribute to maintaining strong institutional control in all aspects of NCAA, Big 12 Conference, and University of Arizona Athletics rules compliance.
- Coordinate the initial and continuing eligibility or financial aid processes for all sport programs.
- Collaborate with department staff to maintain accurate and updated monitoring systems and databases.
- Contribute to the development and submission of waivers and interpretations for matters associated with initial and continuing eligibility or financial aid
- Provide interpretations to departmental staff regarding initial and continuing eligibility or financial aid
- Support department-wide rules education initiatives.
- Prepare rules education materials and presentations to deliver via various mediums to coaches and staff, student-athletes, and other individuals as necessary
- Design/adjust workflows in ARMS to incorporate all necessary departments within the athletics department to effectively monitor and streamline various processes and procedures
- Oversee various monitoring systems and processes in the areas of initial and continuing eligibility or financial aid
- Maintain up to date knowledge of NCAA, Big 12, and University of Arizona policies, bylaws, interpretations and case precedent.
- Other duties as assigned by the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Compliance.
- Duties may be adjusted based upon the expertise of the successful candidate.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Three years of experience
- Experience with NCAA rules and regulations
- Must be available to work nights and weekends and travel as needed
